Photo's or you don't own it !?

Almost looks like an early Larue , with that Hand guard ?

Every time I go to get an 80% 1911 from Tactical Machining , they are out of stock , even the blem's .
-
Want a longer Buffer system , Just use all Armalite AR 10 components . Receiver Extension , Buffer & Spring .
-
80 % Lower , for a dedicated long range Rife , I would not skimp on Components , not saying it can't be done or your cheap , but I would have went with a Billet matched Receiver set . The only thing I have heard of the 6.5 is some have to alter the feed ramps to get that odd stepped bottle necked cartridge to feed reliably

Its still an amazing find ! If it was in a Mag pouch , wonder what was the outcome of the individual who had the mag Pouch. Could have been shot into a ammo dump also .

First off that spring has some funny curves to it , it should lay straight when at rest like that . Its has 26 coils , the way i count . Get another spring for a 308 Carbine to replace it . Tube's Spring is a good choice. The 308 cartridge has a lot of recoil power & that buffer material at the end of the Buffer , is there for just what it says , but that is an extreme condition & with a proper set up Buffer system , a Balanced Buffer system should not be slamming into the bottom of the Extension . I was trained to pull the Charging handle , be it an M14 or M16 , all the way back till it stops & then let it go . That is the the only time the Buffer should hit that hard on the Bottom of the Extension . Balancing of the system can be done in many ways , Spring tension , Buffer weight & in some AR 15's , changing to an M16 Bolt Carrier if the rifle has an AR 15 Bolt Carrier , which is lighter . Having the wrong components doesn't help the issue . Think of the Buffer hitting the bottom of the Receiver Extension every shot , that constant beating will damage the Buffer , Spring ( because its not just reaching its full compression , but compressing past it ) & the Receive Extension its self , its only threaded with Aluminum threading . Felt recoil & vibration will also be increased by the Buffer hitting hard every time . My testing has shown, to me any way, that if the Buffer does touch the end of the Extension , its barely enough to leave a slight making on a white piece of paper set in the bottom . There is a outline of the Buffer on the front side of the paper , but no imprint on the back side of the paper & yes this is from a fired 308AR with Fed. M 80 Ammo. (front of paper facing the Buffer) Notice how the Spring imprint can be seen on both sides . ( Underside of paper) Marks on the outside is from the Buffer Spring . Yes I cut this out & fired the Rifle with it this way .

Are you building a Piston Gas system Rifle , if not , why the anti tilt ? Not really needed with a DI Gas System .
-
Also , Tubb's Flat wire spring could also fix it , The one I measured with my cut out Receiver Extension , showed that under complete compression , the Buffer will not hit the bottom ( or end ) of the Extension , a condition that won't happen with this Spring , so that may also take care of your issue. The same spring is used for Carbine or Rifle . I took mine out of my Carbine to try it in my 18" Rifle stocked 308 . A Black Magic Marker will cover the marks in the Receiver so you can test it . Swiping out for AR 10 Components will also work , as has been said . http://www.davidtubb.com/tubb-springs

OK NTX , what do TE & ME stand for ? Its a tough question , depends what M1 your looking at , a new one , Arsenal refit , or a CMP one . I have heard , just a rumor , that the ones coming out of the CMP are pretty rough , all the real nice ones are gone , but I have heard of some getting real nice ones , hard to say. If you want one from a Dealer , get some of the Gages for servicing an M1 to check it , there are a few different ones ,( I don't have any but the Barrel erosion gage & I want to get the rest ) or you can have a competent Gunsmith look at it . If we get a REP. in POTUS the Deal with South Korea is one worth waiting for , there are a lot of Arsenal refit M1's that already have a release & proper permitting to be imported , but the Commie in Office has put a stop on the importation of" Assault rifles ". Could be patient & come off with a very good M1 , hell , you have waited this long already . If Hitlory gets it go out & get one Quickly? Back ( this is going to make you scream inside ) when I was an FFL in Ohio , I got a deal on five or more of South Korean Arsenal refit M1's for 179.99 each & I still have one . All had Birch Stocks , new WWII Barrels & all looked Brand New . I even Hunted with mine in West Virginia & shot a seven point with it , Stoned him . I now have a Boyd's Wallnut Stock on her & it is beautiful with the pure linseed oil .

Continued blown Primers will erode both the Firing Pin & Its Hole in the Bolt Face , of course you knew that , but that may be showing high pressure signs for some reason or another , this is some high rolling ammo for a 308 ( 7.62x51 ). Have you tried the " not " seconds ammo in this rifle ? Maybe your Chamber just doesn't like this ammo .

Make sure the Barrel is clamped securely in Vice Blocks if removing Muzzle devices . -
Stay with POF 308 Spring & Buffer , if using their Receiver Extension, what ever they use for a Carbine system . Not sure what Buffer they use or the length of it , but the Buffer Spring should be a Carbine length, Rifle length will probably too long , not sure what POF uses .When you start mixing & matching different Manufacturers components , you can expect fitment/action issues . POF has a lot of proprietary components .

It is a good thing to get your Optics as close to the barrel as possible , but with AR's ,thats a hard thing to do for most shooters. Depends what Stock or Stock system you have & your facial features , everyone has a different Cheek Weld on a Stock , adj. cheek risers are a help for some . I personally use extra high rings on all my AR's , no matter what Stock I have on . Its also a difficult thing to get a measurement , you have to have a resettable & comfortable Cheek Weld & go from there . I mount a Scope & look through it after getting my Cheek Weld set & if not getting a good sight picture , I figure by moving my head , where i need the scope to be ( Up or Down ) usually up & use a small tape measure to see how far I had to move my head & come up with a measurement from the Rail or Mount & look for the Ring height that comes as close to that measurement as possible . Some Manufacturers have their measurement from the Base of the Ring & some have it from the flat of the Ring that sits on the Rail or mount . Gets confusing , some don't give a measurement & just say , low ,med , high or extra high . Eye relief is set by a full sight picture , viewed from your secure Cheek Weld . If you have a insecure stock seating in your Shoulder & it is slipping off when you take a shot, you will get Scope eye every time or if eye relief set too close .

7" is correct for a std AR 15 Receiver Extension ( Buffer tube ) & is used for DPMS type Carbines. 3.8 oz. Buffer is a little Heavier than the ones I have , but a good thing . 2.5" is correct for a DPMS Carbine length Buffer 27 coils are two less then the normal 29 coils I have here with two Springs , but may be the way you counted . If the coil count is correct , the less coils may be an issue . 11 1/4 " spring length is correct for a DPMS Carbine Buffer spring . I don't see what Gas system length you barrel has . It could make a difference , a Carbine gas system could cause a faster & longer Gas signature . The slight touching at the Extension headed area on the Lower Receiver could also be how the Receiver is made . If Buffer spring actually has only 27 coils , I would see if you could get another one to try , it doesn't take much to unbalance the system , if you are compressing the Buffer material on the end of the Buffer that much , that is a problem & stacking $$ in there is just putting a bandaid on to fix a larger issue with the Buffer system . If a New Spring doesn't take care of it , there is a a Company that is on this sight ' Heavy Buffers " who you can get a Heavier Buffer & his cut down AR 10 Spring that will should help slow the BCG down to stop it from hitting the Receiver.
-
Depth of inside Receiver Extension ? Length & Weight of the Buffer ? Length of Buffer Spring & how many Coils ?
-
You pulled the Disassembly & Pivot Pins and you can't separate the Receivers ? Use light taps with a rubber mallet .

I have the same everything in my Oly. pre ban, but the upper receiver , I put a TM on it for a scope , but no problems with the Gas rings & I built the rifle around 1979-80. I think the test is , when clean , push the Bolt into the Bot Carrier & flip it to post down & if it stays the Gas Rings are good . I can't think of any AR I have owned has ever needed new Gas Rings , thats including Select Fire M16's .?

The Commie's want no guns in the hands of the people ! $$ is where you can hurt them , believe it or not , we hold the key's to all of this ,but I don't think there would be enough people to participate to make a difference . I'm going to do my part & not purchase anything made or sold from that so called State, firearms related items only, nothing else & let them know it .
-
All depends on your eye relief , where the scope is set . Your sight picture looking through the scope is what determines where you personally set it at & your cheek weld will also effect it . The Charging handle issue can be alleviated by purchasing this ,

One FTF with a new build , sounds like she is working just fine . Spent Brass looks OK . What gas system length is your Barrel ? I also believe in the run them wet on break in ( well maybe not running down your arm ? ).
