  1. I hold out a lot from every one , chose which you feel you are . <lmao>
  2. It believe it absolutely needs to be checked , just because , better safe then sorry .
  3. All I got to say is, WOW ! <thumbsup>
  4. Damn , It looks like I'm stuck with it . Maybe I'll pick up a PPK , isn't that how it works , its no to late for you, also . <laughs>
  5. Blue Loc-tite has been working for me & every thing stays there & comes off with out much effort. I think that fitment has a lot to do with what will work & what won't .
  6. Nothing like holding a controlled Detonation every time you pull the trigger & for some ,not so controlled .
  7. Anyone have a Walther PPK ? I have a new unused Magazine for you if you want it . They gave me this mag when I bought my PPKS & I've had it for years & it doesn't fit in my PPKS . If you want it PM me where you want me to send it to , as long as its not too expensive to send . SS with finger grove . I take a photo of it , new in the box ! Part number on box is #VAF04413
  8. 45/70 Revolver , <thumbsup> Its good the ammo is loaded down . <laughs>
  9. I was hoping that's what it was <laughs> Building an AR 15 to start out is , as was said , a very good idea . Don't be shy about asking if some component(s) will play well together . The 308 version is slightly more challenging , when you step up to it . <thumbsup>
  10. Man , that will choke you up , want dedication . <thumbsup>
  11. Send the rifle back , get a return paid shipping label & send it back with a list of your complaints . Believe it or not , they have a good warranty service . New Platform will have bugs , just the way it is with mass produced rifles or anything for that matter .
  12. This Hand Guard has a smaller diameter & thought at first is was a little too small , that is until I started playing with it , bringing ti up to point . You can wrap your hand around it & its quite comfortable . I am now a believer in longer hand Guards also , putting my hand out farther sure makes it a better point-able rifle , can't wait to put it through some point & shoot drills . It does have a little flex to it , when I put heavy pressure on it to see if it flexes , but it really doesn't take the stiffness feel out of it .
  13. Good to know ! <lmao>
  14. Larue & there are other's.
  15. Man, they are quick . Go the HG in the mail today & first thing is this is one light HG. The instruction are clear , but figuring the right shims , I could see some having a problem with it . Once you figure it out by reading the instructions ,with the supplied shims, its very ingenious way of setting up the proper torque & alignment on the Barrel nut . Shims are color coded , I used the black & the two blue ones . Looks good Now to install the Gas Block w/Gas tube & Flash Suppressor. Complete with HG installed I have to install the scope & get a better photo on the range
  16. Those are head space gages for the Chambers , the actual cartridges or ammo have the exact same overall dimensions . the only difference is in the case base webbing is thicker on 7.62x51 then the commercial 308 & thats internal in the case , not outside . I use .308 head space gages to check all my 308's , be it a .308 or 7.62x51 , even the Hybrid chambers . I don't recall ever seeing a 7.62x51 reloading die set <dontknow>
  17. WC 846 . Might be a pull down powder , but I got a four, 8# jugs ,case about twenty years ago & almost out of it . I'm bummed out , because I have to work up loads , all over again . I like 4064 , but its not performing like the WC 846 & it is hard sometimes to meter. I don't mind it that much when I hand weigh my target test rounds . Wideners has it in 8# containers , about the only way I buy powder ( when I can , that is ) I can see some powders are finally coming back .
  18. I looked at the notes on my 16" Criterion , rifle length gas system & its 0.1095", A mid or Carbine system may be different . We need a Pinned subject on Manufacturers Barrels gas port sizes .
  19. I like the gray , I've been thinking of one with all gray furniture.
  20. 53 , Puppy age <lmao> . The 16" will work as far as the Cartridges capabilities let it . The 18" if a lighter profile , will not be bad either . My thinking has always been , if you carrie the rifle around , less weight is better . Bench/Target , it doesn't matter that much .
  21. More likely unscrupulous body handlers , Government probably had nothing to do with it , except they were on the Governments pay roll . When I was over seas & came back to port , they just started to bring dogs on board to sniff the boat . Guys were putting red pepper in the air handlers to thwart the dogs noses . Man, were those dog handles pissed , I personally know one & he said it could ruin the dogs nose for life , as far as a drug sniffing dog . Guys were bringing all kind $hit back , I had to disassemble a large Condensate return pump that stopped working & the peckerhead ( if your not an electrician , it where the wires are connected on a electric motor ) it was full of dope , not sure what it was, didn't have time to check it out , because there was a Chief next to me & he called in the troops & we all got a grilling for a week . We were all laughing about it , just throw the $hit over board & be done with it .WTF
  22. Of course its always the guns fault , nothing about the Nut Human behind the trigger . Should have never got rid of the Mental health Hospitals , a lot of these nut cases would not be out in the public , to do these things .
  23. I got a call last week from a friend that I helped put together a rifle for . He bought a complete LWRC 5.56 upper & I got a new LWRC lower from another friend , just so it would be a complete LWRC ( so to speak ) He was all giddy about the Piston set up & how great they are , not getting dirty & running cooler . Rifle shot great & I personally put it through its break in , with my procedure & if you have read of what I do to a new built rifle , even though the Upper was factory built , I punish them right out of the box , so to speak & rifle functioned fine , passed with flying colors & I was impressed with the feel & damn thing shot really good . Back to the call , he said he went to the range with his son to shoot & the rifle would not chamber a round , so is how I got the call . First thing I asked is , did you clean the rifle , yes was the answer . I said clean it again & pay particular attention to the Chamber & locking lug area, might have a piece of brass /copper to bind it up . He sent me photo's of before & after he cleaned that area up & now the rifle functions normally ( I'm shooting it this weekend ) The rifle has about 300 rounds through it , all Fed 5.56 , not completely broken in by my standards , but should not of had a problem. I guess the moral of this story is , no matter what they say Piston vs DI gas system , a little dirt can still stop them from working . No matter who makes them .
  24. Ya , well where's the Photo's ? <laughs> :hail:
  25. Do you think they assemble the BCG in the Factory or do you think the BCG's are spec'ed out to another Vender ? As far as the Marlin thing , I'm not defending Remington , but it could take some time to set up properly for a newly acquired rifle manufacturing ( since they moved production line ). I read that none of the real old timer Smiths would not transfer . Well how many actual GunSmiths do see on rifle production lines any more ? Custom shop stuff & maybe warranty .
