I've done it , swimming with any gear or paks sux !

Nothing wrong with it , there is a shooter on the M14 Forum that said he gets better score with other surplus ammo , but I never intended this for Match ammo nor is it intended for it , I would think . I wish I had more extra blow $$ to order more , but my Socom is wasting all my extra $$ ( three more weeks ! )

What ever color you like . Some comments I read say you don't need to apply this , well to those who say its not needed ,OK don't use it . I keep most of my Ammo in 50 cal. ammo cans , some are not , The Cans seal real good , but some are old & just how long will an old seal hold up in a polluted water environment , if a flood or backed up water in a basement . Some say they have hunted for a long time & their factory ammo never failed them , well thats OK , but if your firearm fails shooting at a Game animal , it sucks , but your life may not depend on it & it only takes one misfire .Speaking of that , I had , if you 'all remember , some 9mm with Remington Primers , that some how got contaminated & had a large % of misfires . Using this product or one like it , might have prevented it . Then some were saying if your not Scuba Diving , you don't need it , well I am Scuba Certified & ya never know what you may need to do in a Survival situation ," prepare for the worst & hope for the best ." A little extra time , for piece of mind .

DPMS G2 Recon - Bad Ammo?
survivalshop replied to ImpliedConsent's topic in DPMS Panther Arms LR-308 | Bushmaster 308
That Firing Pin is toast . Also , notice the Firing Pin Hole in the Bolt . The Bolt actually looks different , notice the Ejector passage seems to be machined differently or it could be just the photo. Do you haves some way to measure the depth of the Bolt face , from the Face of the Bolt Lugs ? -

CMP 1911 Information Status of the CMP 1911s, 1/29/2018: The CMP has been authorized to receive 8,000 1911 type pistols from the United States Army. The 1911s have been received by the CMP. A complete inventory will be conducted over the course of this week. The pistols will then be securely stored until the Army-approved 1911 building and armory infrastructure is completed. That completion is anticipated to be approximately 60 days from now. Once the 1911 armory is completed, inspection, grading, repair, and ultimately test firing of the pistols will begin. (Please be aware that the CMP was led to believe that we were ready to move forward, but three weeks ago facility requirements were changed, and we are now fulfilling those requirements.) The CMP 1911 order packet will be posted 90 days prior to the order acceptance date and opening sales date. No orders will be accepted prior to that date. Please visit www.thecmp.org, click on the Sales icon then 1911 Information, for the latest. CMP customer service has been inundated with calls and emails concerning the 1911s and no further information is available at this time. The CMP will keep everyone posted as we move through this process. Mark Johnson Chief Operating Officer Civilian Marksmanship Program www.thecmp.org -

I dont think you PO anyone , just look at the sections & sub sections or use the search at the top right hand side of the page . The whole thing of Nato ( 7.62x51 ) vs 308 ammo is way over blown in modern Firearms , now older rifles & I mean old , their metallurgy is suspect & some 308 ammo now a days is loaded hot compared std 7.62x51 Ball & you should not use 308 in a Nato chambered old rifle .There were a lot of older Rifle converted to 7.62x51 NATO & using commercial 308 may not be up to modern standards . I have shot thousands of rounds of 308 in 7.62x51 chambers in modern rifles & the other way around ,with out any issues & we are talking over forty years of it . The outside dimensions of the ammo are the same , I have never seen a 7.62x51 NATO reloading die set , they are all 308 die sets , that tells you something right there .

Brownells , both the ones I use are out of stock , but they dont stay that way long . https://www.brownells.com/search/index.htm?k=primer+sealer&ksubmit=y https://ads.midwayusa.com/product/954332/markron-custom-bullet-and-primer-sealer-1-2-oz-liquid https://ads.midwayusa.com/product/423777/markron-custom-bullet-and-primer-sealer-4-color-pack-1-3-oz-each-of-red-blue-green-black ( shows it will be back in stock the end of January )

Me too! I use Nikons & Burris mostly & I have an old Millet 4x16x50 Tactical which has good glass in it .
-
I didn't know this about the Fed M80 & have shot a lot of it over the years .
-
Any climate , or if your reloading room or ammo stored in the basement floods , for one reason or another .
-
If he tightened to get to that position ,why not just loosen it back up , its not making sense , he had to power through something to get there , where it is .
-
I'm not sure where he got those instructions . I have several scope with side adj. & I have never had an issue with adj. them up or down for focus at different distances , of course I have to admit , I never read the instructions on them .

Army thinking of bigger bullet
survivalshop replied to Sisco's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Still looks more like a Sniper /SOF Rifle , not a general use weapon . There is really nothing special about it , except the caliber ( for the Military that is ) -
Jt , I don't think he is using a Bushnell , from this statement . I believe he is using the Bushnell instructions for understanding side Parallax adj..

Look at the post dates on those reviews . 7.62 m80 has been plated steel jacket for a long time now. Just like the tons of Russian ammo people shoot is plated steel. The mild steel is plated, but when the rifling engraves the bullet it will cut through some of that plating and you will have steel on steel. However, That is pretty soft mild steel and is a tad thinner then a gilding metal jacket. It's hardness may be a few ticks higher then gilding metal but its still so much softer then the barrel steel that you or the barrel will never know the difference. Throat erosion will usually wreck a barrel before the rifling goes to poop.

I took some shity photo's , but you can get the idea & I put more on then I normally do to show how this stuff fills . left is Green tip (M855 ? ), right is M193 55 gr., you can barely see any sealant ( red ) in the Primer on the right . My reload with CCI Primer , I test all my primer Pockets with my RCBS Primer Pocket Uniformer , if its not snug , its scraped . With sealant applied ( I over did my normal amount to show it better. Wiped off excess with folded Paper towel . Bullet to Case application . Cleaned off excess . How it comes in the littler canister Just like Nail Polish .

Might be better off breaking in a new Barrel , your way . Unless you knew the seller personally , you never know what condition the barrel is really in .

I looked at my Chrono results for Tac loads that come close to the velocity of the Xterminator & the 25.5 gr. of Tac was close to the Xterminator @ 24.6gr. from my 24" AR , so I will test that ( since I have a bunch already made for testing ) in the 16's to see if there is a difference . I also gave some WC 846 loaded to throw in the mix . I also have some 25.5 Tac loads with both Remington match & CCI primers to see if there is any difference , just for the hell of it .

How far left ? Some spin drift will happen with some barrels, depending on Ammo or loading . . Also as said above , could be something the scope , try another scope or Iron sights .
-
I use this , there is a bottle like nail polish with a brush attached to the cap . I just brush over the Primer & with a paper towel , wipe the excess off , same with the bullet to case interface . Takes couple seconds to do . I also have sealed Ball ammo in storage , but I have a lot of reloaded ammo that I cycle through . I'll take a photo & post it , its hard to tell its sealed , unless you look real good . Its more for moisture for me , not too worried about oil . Seals the primer-to-primer-pocket joint to produce a tough, waterproof barrier that keeps moisture out of your bullet’s powder to help prevent misfires. Fast drying, easy to apply to any loaded ammunition. Greatly extends the storage life of your cartridges, even under adverse, highhumidity conditions. Withstands up to 30 days of total water submersion. The ½ oz. bottle contains enough sealer to treat approximately 1,000 rounds. Won’t affect muzzle pressure, velocity, or accuracy. Comes with instructions and applicator.

Mods , please move this to the Ammunition section , unless we are going to win his Rifle with an answer he likes .

Good action movie , I liked it , but it was still Commiewood sensationalism . What a hand full of well trained & dedicated SF & Air Power did , is just remarkable .

I started to use a sealer for my storage , longterm reloaded ammo , just in case .
