It locked down good enough to unscrew the YH hand guard when they swiveled it & it wasn't locked down yet ! <dontknow> I have a YH made Hand Guard ( made for Fulton Armory ) on my 20" 308AR & until I loc tite'd the HandGuard threads & its cinch nut , it would loosen every time I went to the range . Some anti rotating pins would help . I believe that slim rail sticking out will break with rough use . Not that any of us would abuse our rifles or there add on's . <thumbsup>

308 Trigger suggestion

Not sure if it being a Doppler Radar would make a difference in placement .

I really don't think the gas port in the barrel is a different spec. , I think its all about the many different manufacturers making 308 Upper receivers out there . It is nice to get that kind of info from a manufacturer. <thumbsup>

Cartridge dimensions are the same ( US made ammo ), its the chambers that are a little different , with the 7.62 x 51 having a slightly longer lead to rifling & a small difference in shoulder to neck angle dimensions . All to make the chamber for a battle rifle to be a little looser for battle field conditions & NATO ammo variances . What's the Difference between .308 Winchester & 7.62x51mm NATO? by Clint McKee and Walt Kuleck dumb question i alway thought these 2 ammos where interchangeable but some have told me otherwise whats the story??? jim

Or the bolt is not unlocking . Worn Barrel extension ? Could be the Upper receivers cam channel is out of spec.. I would be reluctant to fire this rifle until you figure it out . Take measurements & compare them with a known working system or new components . - Cam pin dimensions & fitment in Carrier - Upper Receivers cam channel -I would remove the Barrel to get a better look at the Barrels Extension & check head space with the barrel & bolt only .

If the windage adj. is not working is one thing , but looking down the sights & saying they are not aligned is another . Photo's would be a big help , please .

This is new & different . LabRadar is finally coming! Production is under way! We will be receiving one of the first units from the initial run for testing and evaluation next month - stay tuned for a review article. And we expect our first big shipment in May. Place a Pre-Order today at the LRH Store to make sure you get one. For more information and to place a Pre-Order - CLICK HERE. Labradar is the simplest, most accurate system available for measuring bullet velocity. Simply place the unit near the shooter and turn it on! LabRadar is not actually a chronograph at all, but rather an extremely accurate Doppler Radar. Doppler Radar has been used by defense agencies and ballistic laboratories for many years for research and development of all sorts of projectiles, but the units were bulky and extremely expensive. The manufacturer of LabRadar has been an industry leader in Doppler Radar for over 20 years and is proud to offer the same outstanding technology in a compact, affordable and easy to use package.

<thumbsup> Odd that you are able to do something like that , wonder if RCBS is aware of this possibility .

I pretty much have a Manual for any of the bullet manufacturers I use . They are good reference , these Bullet Manufacturers do a lot of R&D with their Bullets . Something I can not say about other's Manuals . You can join an online reloaders forum & get plenty of info , but you have to take individuals loading practices with a grain of salt , so too speak.

I have seen broken springs for the Extractor or Ejector cause problems you are describing . As was said, the gas block may also be suspect. The magazines can also cause this kind of issue , try a different brand of Mag., ya never know .

308 Trigger suggestion

Yes , that is what I meant to say . Ambi Bolt release is shown in your photo & was was the dummy latch you made . My bad for not proof checking my post . I originally thought you were talking about something on the trigger system its self , but looking at your photo it was clear it was the Bolt release . Ambi. Bolt release lever probably works with out a problem with the FCG it was designed around . -
another homeless man shot this time for throwing rocks
survivalshop replied to Magwa's topic in Club House
He brought a rock to a gun fight & lost , of course . I always say this about these short clips of shootings , we only see a small portion of what really happened . I like the idiot walking across the street toward the gun fire , taking cover would have been prudent . -
Board track & all that sand , wow , had to be a loose track . I like the way they were smacking the winner up side the head & all of them laughing .

That 24 " barrel should have a rifle length gas tube & because you are mating a DPMS Upper on a POF Lower , they were never made to be mated & there may be a Gas Tube length issue . No way of knowing until you assemble the rifle & & test it . If the length of the gas tube is too short , you can use an Armalite rifle length Gas tube which is longer . Any AR 15/16 rifle length gas tube should work or the longer AR 10 rifle length Gas tube . Fulton Armory sells what they call a 308 gas tube & I believe its just an AR 10 gas tube . We have had some builds here that use different manufacturers Upper & Lowers mated & some need a different Rifle length gas tube & thats where the AR 10 Gas Tube comes in . AR 10 is the designation for the Armalite brand of 308AR , your not building an Armalite rifle , although we know what you mean , but keeping the designations correct helps in part or component identification . I still use my Bushnell Bore sighter on some rifles , but mostly I shoot at 25 yards & make adj. there .

Well , that's not right . In post # 3 , you said you had it all the way to the left & looked like it needed to go more , sounds like it moved at one point . Has Magpul contacted you back yet ? Have you shot this rifle yet with these sights ? Have you the ability to take photo's of the sight alignment & sights . You also say its all straight , with the upper receiver rail perfectly aligned with the gas Block rail ? It will not take the Gas Block being off to screw up sight alignment . The rail on the Gas block may be out of spec's , even though its rail flat may be level , other parts of where the rail clamps, may be off & tilting the front or rear sight .

I have never trimmed pistol brass . I use Unique & Bullseye Powders for 9mm & 45 acp, but there are other good powders out there , the problem is , finding the ones you like , in stock . IMR 4064 works with .223,308 & I use a pulldown MilSpec Powder , a ball powder , WC 846 for .223 & 308 ammo , very good powder . If your 9mmm can shoot HP bullets , try some in the varying weights . I'm loading 147 gr. FMJHP 's from Magtec & they shoot pretty good . 115 gr. works well of course . .223 , I like 55 gr. FMJ's & 62 gr. FMJ's ,the ones with out the penetrator , they seem to shoot well in any twist rate . I also use 52gr. SMK's ,55 gr. SMK's , 69gr. SMK's , 62 gr. Barnes TTSX . The Barnes shoot really well , but pricey for practice .

Check your Ejector & Extractor for proper movement & any Burr's that can cause them to hang up . If the action fired three rounds with out a problem & the mag held the BCG back on last round , sounds like the Buffer & spring are functioning properly . Now after that , something happened some where . Running her wet ? Check components for anything out of the ordinary . Broken spring(s) , Gas block loose or moved , Carrier Key loose or not sealed , things like that .

Ya' all got me confused <dontknow> -
What brand is your Lower Receiver ? Any more , even with AR 15 's , I like to keep the Upper & Lower receivers the same manufacturer or matched set if buying them together .
-
That's cold , but <lmao>
-
I think you broke it on purpose , just to get a new Hand Guard ! <laughs>
-
Didn't they just have a recall on them .
