I have two FA Barrels & they out shoot me with out a problem , but with the LW Barrel , I can't see you going wrong there ether .

That's a cop out . Why can't they say its DPMS compatible or with an AR 10 ? <dontknow>

You can have the Barrel treated to be black , Nitrated of course is an option , Creakote also , both permeant finishes . Paint works also , just easy to scratch off with some paints. Look up Stainless Steel blackening, there are products out there to blacken it just like cold blueing a part .

I see nothing about it on their sight , but they will work on PA 10 & TAC 10 uppers , what ever pattern they are . Call or email them to make sure .

I find it strange they said they bought CProducts when the quality was going down . I think I read some posts in another Forum where he was saying the quality went down when the new owners took over & made changes to his design . Could be he was pissed for loosing or selling the CO. or what ever made him go in another direction . Rebuilding their reputation ? On someone else's design & name , could be , I would give them a test to see how they do when they put them on the market ,against the old design . I have about twenty of the original CProducts & they are fine mags . They are all Stainless , I think , some of the Finnish comes off from use , but not a big deal. If the Lancers were not so expensive ( twice the price of the PMag ) I would get some & probably will to test them , like all the others I have done , but right now the twenty & twenty five rd. PMags are the best available for the price . My DPMS mags work fine also , I've had no problems with them .

Just as Matt wrote , the first stage is just to set up the second stage & I guess you can say it feels like smooth creep . 9 oz. is kind of light for a trigger pull on an AR .

Now , bad luck , can be pretty much described the same way . I'm a believer that the Barrel/chamber on any firearm makes it a decent shooting MOA or a super sub MOA shooter , you pretty much get what you pay for . Of course there are other factors , but the Barrel is the base for any real good shooter . IMO <dontknow> Find or wait for the Barrel that you want .

Sell your AR15 & buy a DPMS G2, even if you have to save up to get it . That being my first choice , if you want to get into a 308AR right off the bat & don't want to wait , you need to look at what you want to do with this rifle , then pick the one that comes closest to what you want . Sounds like you are going to customize it any way from you other thread , right ?

With the length of the hand guard you want , you will probably have to go to a low profile Gas Block . I don't think the railed gas block thats on the barrel will let you slip one over . <dontknow>

Around 20" ? Fulton Armory sells Krieger Criterion Barrels & as said , Rainier , with its own Barrels along with the other manufacturers Barrels they sell . There's actually quite a few really good barrels out, for the 308AR market .

I have two rifle length FA barrels with std AR 15 rifle length Gas Tubes & no problems. One on a DPMS Upper Receiver & the other on a Tactical Machining Upper receiver & also used a SI Defense Upper Receiver & none of them had any issues . I don't see it as an issue with the Gas Tube . I see it as another issue with no Standard for 308AR's . All Upper Receivers ( or Barrels ) not being to some sort of standard as compared to the MilSpec standard of the AR 15/M16/M4. Its why building an 308AR from some manufacturers, issues such as these come up & why building an 308AR can be a challenge with some configurations of different manufacturers components . Doesn't matter who made them of how well they are made . I have two DPMS Lower receivers with matching DPMS Uppers ( one a TM Upper ) & they work flawlessly , I have a early CMMG Lower & SI Defense Billet upper & that combo will not work reliably with the LR PMags , Any Steel mag works fine . This CMMG Billet Lower was made many years before the PMag was out , so I really can't blame CMMG , but it just goes to show , that all 308AR Parts or components don't play well together . The different length Gas tube at FA ,is probably just a AR 10 Tube , the measurements are just too close . There has been issues in the past where some using the AR 10 Gas tube, on a DPMS configuration, have had issues because its too long & switching to a std . AR 15 Gas Tube , fixed the problem , so you see it can get compacted building an 308 AR . The good thing is , its an inexpensive component to change out . You can blame the manufactures if you want , but it all comes down to , YOU , your building a Rifle , You made yourself a Hobbyist Gunsmith & stuff sometimes happens when building a Custom rifle <dontknow>
