  1. OK , so they dump the Pmag because the Marine corps is going to buy a little over 4K of this new SAW & how many M16/M4's are in use . Ya lets purchase a weapon that is not compatible with any of the mags we have in use , made by a foreign co. , If I'm wrong about this , do tell. Its what I read , because I didn't know what the M27 was.
  2. And don't forget the nut behind the trigger . The best trigger & a bad shot don't help with groups . <lmao>
  3. There are quite a few out there making die sets for the 300BLK out now . Forster was the only one making them when I got into it . One complaint with mine is , the seater stem could be a little longer & no crimping ( which I wouldn't use any way ) Proper neck tension is all you really need & mine work fine .
  4. Is the bolt holding back after the last rd. in the mag. , every time ? What gas block is on the rifle (A2 sight ? )? When you push in on the ejector , does it push freely with no stopping or hanging up & do you feel it has sufficient spring pressure ( it should be moderately stiff ) ? Inspect the chamber with a bore light for imperfections , also check the barrel extension & locking lugs for burrs /roughness. Get a set head space gages or barrow or take to a smith & check head space .( with all three ) I would go with Heavy buffers , spring & buffer , Clint's stuff does work . I have not had any problems with DPMS springs & buffers , but others have & HB 's stuff worked for them . I am using a Superior flat wire spring (Tubbs )in my 16" 308 & it changed the operation of ejection ,not that I had a problem with the stock DPMS set up (I'm still using the std DPMS carbine buffer ) but I wanted to try one & kept it in there because the spent brass falls in one neat pile & I don't have to go all over the range looking for them . And there's more .
  5. I see you have some under an inch , were all of them the same loading ? Yes by all means shoot to get used to the trigger , they take some getting used to .
  6. Since the rifles are new & under warranty , just keep sending them back . You have little choice in it , you payed to have a working rifle & they should make it work or give you a new one or your money back. Now that I said that , it looks like the one that's has the BCG hitting the receiver has some items out of spec. , bad buffer spring & or to light of buffer ( may have a AR 15 buffer ? ), bbl. gas port incorrect size , ejector hanging up or weak/broken spring , ejector out of spec or the bolt out of spec . & I could keep going . Switching uppers to try out is a good idea. I have an older CMMG billet lower & while nice ,it had its share of problems all related to spec's & it will not work with Pmags , steel mags no problems. First , get some good ammo , no steel case crap , while good for loose chamber older mil spec rifles (like the FN-FAL ) it will cause problems with most precision chambers on the AR 308's , some will work with it but most don't . I would get good some good ammo & put one round in the mag & see if the the mag will hold open on the last rd. ,if it does , put two or three in & see how it does ejecting & hold open. Have you tried different mag. manufacturers ?
  7. Maybe ,procurement was the wrong field or word I meant . I should have said who ever makes the decisions to procure equipment , what ever title they put to it . It just seems odd , that they would ban for use a piece of equipment that the people in the field want & is superior to what they are getting. It just stinks ,very badly . Does any one know who makes this decision ? Is it a panel or just one bone head? If just one bone head opr panel of them , what's there name(s) & rank ?
  8. The shell plate & powder die is all Dillon ( shell plate for .223/5.56) Now if you asking me what die set manufacturer I'm using , which has nothing to do with the powder drop , since its all Dillon , i'm using Forster competition die set.
  9. Why , you looking for a Dillon 550B ? <lmao>
  10. Between $ 13-1500 , not that bad of a price , if it holds up . Time will tell . Interesting though & good job RRA. I have never been interested in an AR in 762x39 ,but the military has & others here. Don't need one ,I have a 300BLK !
  11. There is more behind this than we will ever read . If your one of those who like conspiracy theory, here's one , a Democrat ( or just a supporter )sells/makes the mil spec ones & doesn't like the competition of the Pmag & calls his bro "BO" & asks him to "Fix ' it. There are more I can think of , one being as usual , the military procurement specialists are idiots.
  12. <thumbsup> All you have to do is buy his rifle & you will have one also. See how simple that is .
  13. Because it may be a little too light for duty use .Some ,no matter how you train them , will still rest there finger on the trigger & that could & does cause problems. Now a Sniper or DM, absolutly or even hunting .
  14. For a min. there I thought you had given up on that bbl. & were looking for one that you could wrap your hands around . <laughs> You may find those carbon bbl's weigh more than you would expect. Fulton Armory is where I will get my Target bbl's from, I have two & I can say they both are precision barrels .
  15. I was having problems lately with relaoding 300BLK on my Dillon 550B , I have been using the powder funnel for the 5.56/.223 & was not having any problems untill lately . Don't know what changed ,but I started to get powder (H110 ) dumping on the shell plate & in some cases deforming the case . I came to the conclusion that the case ,if not aligned dead on with the powder funnel would just catch the edge of the funnel & dump powder before it was sealed by the funnel . So in looking at Dillons sight , to see if they had come up with a powder funnel for 300BLK out yet , I see they had one for 7.62x 39 /300 Whisper, ordered it , installed ,adj. & it works prefectly. I don't know how long they have had it available ( could have been years for all I know ),but nice they did .
  16. It sounds like the stock fits your type of cheek weld better ( or your face structure ) This is not always the case ,but not unheard of .
  17. Did any one catch this new rifle ? I see they made the AK mags work & the article in " The book of AR 15 " said they reworked the firing pin for a better primer ignition. but the didn't say anything about changing the weakened bolt face , since I have heard a lot about them breaking .
  18. Well , all I have to say about that is , good luck down here with her /there propaganda. There are quite a few mayors here involved with Bloombergs outfit & we won't stand for this crap down here. The Zimmerman BS is going to blow up in there faces also , even though the witnesses are changing there story's now (because of out side pressure ) it will all come out in the wash , when said & done. They will be using all this to try to force feed us BS , but this State is a little different than most others , we like that we are different & don't follow along with the Commiefornia ways or Commie bloombergs way. Even though we are not in the west , most think of our state as the wild west of the east & like it that way. We are too laid back to listen to there BS .
  19. He already has Burris extra high rings & they are about as high as you can get. I have the same type of problems with my cheek weld also . I have to go extra high in all my AR's I put scopes on. The rail extensin is the way to go , you just have to figure the measurement of what more is needed. You can do that by taking the ring tops off & with the rifle supported so you can get behind it & sight through it , just add some shims under the scope to get it where you can get a good sighting & add up the amount of shims you put under the rings ( front & back should be the same ) , that will get yo the added amount you will need . You will have to look up in the Burris web sight on where they measure there ring height & your added measurement of shims gives you a total scope height & you will have to mix & match ring height & a riser height to get the measurement close to what you need . You can use any thing for shims , just so you get a good measurement. Looks like the X Tactical , extra high are 1" from flat top to bottom of ring .
  20. I use the same rings on my 20" ,but with an A2 stock . They are about as high as you can get, but there my be others out there higher . They make extensions rail mounts , but that would put you too high & have to go to a lower ring. I do not like the rail extensions ,but use one till I get the rings /mount that works . Rings & one piece mounts are some times measured differently from the manufacturers , some measure from the bottom of the scope cradle of the ring , some measure from the dead center of the scope, to the rail flat. Check Larue to see if they have some thing that's a little higher than what the Burris rings are . I think Burris measures from the bottom of the ring to the rail flat. When I get time I will measure my one piece Burris mount & see what it is .
  21. I have shot them from a 30'06 M1 with no problems , long time ago & I think I used .223 , 55 gr. bullets . I do not see a problem with a muzzle device on there , never tried it with one , but the pressure will spit any piece of plastic out of the barrel , one would think . I know I had some issues loading them , as said a long time ago. Hastings rifled barrels for slug shot guns ,have a special (I think its special ) to discard the sabot when it exits the barrel , I guess so it doesn't follow the bullet to the target.
  22. No need to sugar coat it , tell us how you really feel . <laughs>
  23. Now your going to make me look , I have a couple extra screws ,I can see what they are .
  24. Extractor too long & pushing the bullet , where? The only thing that pushes against the cartridge is the bolt face or maybe a stuck ejector, that's not retracting into the bolt face & pushing the cartridge to the right side. I would like to know more about this issue , some photo's if possible .
  25. You may want to think about if you want a Mil spec or commercial collapsible stock / receiver extension . No matter what you hear about the two , one thing is certain & that's the commercial receiver extension tube is thicker ,same inside dia , but the tube is thicker & makes the outside dia larger than the Mil spec. It is why I used commercial on my 308 .
