  1. Well , the AR type rifles are made different & some tolerances are there for a reason , its not the same as a loose stock . Too tight & you can actually decrease accuracy & accelerate component wear . They look like Plastic shims or something similar , how many rounds do you think it will take to deform them ? to me they, like the Wedge , are Placebo's , but if you or others think it helps , go for it .
  2. Is that the Gen 3 PRS ? Looks like the Rifle shoots !
  3. Hell , I can make it blow primers ! I want some tough love XM 193 to check out , thing is I have probably loaded some & didn't pay attention to what it was ,but the NATO head stamp & Fed. , now that PIP got my attention , with a bent pin almost every case .
  4. Damn , you eyes are a whole lot better then mine
  5. So basically , recessed . Not really , to me sling attachments are a weak link if they are not up to par for the use intended . I never used these things & know nothing ( well more now ) about them , to me , being mechanically inclined , they look weak , but looks seem , in this case, deceiving .
  6. I had some PIP that the flash holes were too small for the Decapping pin , I bent three or four before I sorted them all out , to this day , I sort them out , you can see they are too small , the pin sometimes will open it up , but way waste pins , which I do have a good supply . Cant say I have reloaded any Fed XM193 , but have loaded Fed cases , not sure what they were ,( range brass ), because I don't buy loaded Ammo , I have some limited factory ammo , for testing , but its a very small amount , couple of box's . Someone send me some & I will test it Even though I believe 98 , you can still send me some to test , wait , maybe I shouldn't of said that .
  7. While I agree discounts add up to sales , I'm not sure the big firearms manufacturers went out on a limb thinking there would be a Huge increase in sales , some types of manufacturers , yes . We are talking about FFL sales , not parts , most manufacturers when asked, said they will not be adding employee's or increased unit manufacturing because of the election . There was a decrease in sals right after the election , like people were catching their breath , but now there are new worries about how the deep state or what ever ,is trying to over throw a duly elected POTUS, not to mention all the Violent protests that the left wing Commies are putting up , people who just relaxed because of the Trump win , all of a sudden found they could be in peril , because the nut jobs were attacking anyone who looked like they voted for Tump . Be it real or not about a Gov. insider take over , people are as worried now as they were when the chosen one & its Commie comrade were in office . Probably a combo of all the above , we will see in the second half of the year how it turns out , as far as sales .
  8. Well , none of us have a factory rifle to compare anything to , you the man ! At least you can compare measurements for component fit , like the BAD ambidextrous safety .
  9. I still have not made a decision on which brand I want , some I wanted to try were out of stock last time I ordered from Brownells . I will probably buy a couple of what ever they have in stock next order .
  10. There is probably sealant on all Milspec made Ammo , NATO also.
  11. This is only one rifle . Good to hear though .
  12. I would say to purchase a CMMG Upper also , just because of the possibility of Tolerance stacking issues . I had an early CMMG Lower that I put an SI Defense Gen. II Billet Upper Receiver on & the rifle functioned with any Metal Mag , but the first Gen. LR Mags , just would not work . Not to mention the fitment was on the loose side , even for me . When Magpul came out with the Gen 3 LR Mags , they worked as did Lancer L7"s 308 Mags , but I'm not sure if it was because of the changes that Magpul did to the Gen 3's or all the shimming & bedding I did to tighten up the Receivers . The Rifle worked fine when I sold it to a friend & he loves it . You can try any DPMS type Upper , but these aren't like the Milspec little brothers , sometimes its a crap shoot . We like to alway recommend the same manufacturers Upper & lower Receivers so as not to have any issues with Tolerance stacking . You Lower Receivers Extension Threads look like your BCG hit it , threads look OK to be able to install another Receiver Extension with out issue . Probably because of wrong or mismatched Buffer Components .
  13. Hay, your line is bigger then mine I also noticed that secondary line or machined step & was going to mention it . Still makes me wonder if the mistake on the this Receiver is more then just the cut out for the Bolt Catch , but you won't know that till fully assembled & test fired .

  15. TM is moving , not far , about a block or two from where they are at now & not more sq.ft. , but instead of a group of about a doz. condo type Stalls , they are moving into a Building that is all open about the same sq. ft. of the building they are leaving & a little closer to RT 92 , about a block or two They were cleaning out & moving their machinery of which they bought some more new Machines & sold some of the small stuff , because they no longer are going to make small parts , concentrating on Receivers of all sorts . I asked when they will be done with the move & he laughed & said , not soon enough . I guess nothing like moving a whole machine shop . me too
  16. I picked a couple of these up this morning .I like the Model designation
  17. I was always Dad , so no problem . I'm quite sure my Daughter had other names for me , but I never heard them from her mouth !
  18. The whole thing is kinda Sketchy to me
  19. If you compare the depth of that cut out for the Bolt Stop , you will not be able to cut it the same depth , because its milled deeper then available material ( where it should be ) will permit. I would think if it was made for a longer cartridge , the Pivot & Disassembly Pin placement would also change for a longer BCG . Doesn't mean that they didn't screw up with programing on the CNC machine.
  20. What year Ultra is that , nice . Never thought of Idaho as a Vac. destination , looks beautiful . Here's mine.
  21. Nor do I .
  22. I would say Locking Lug scratches , different loadings will leave scratches in different places , happens with ejecting loaded cartridges . Sharp machining on Locking Lugs may wear in with round count & leave less scratches . They could also be from the Chamber . PSA proprietary grip was made just for their Receiver contour , 308AR's are all different , it seems , sometimes you get lucky & they fit , some Brands fit better then others .
  23. My Daughter used to love that movie , I had it taped on VHS
