  1. Good job , I would like to hear what they have to say .
  2. Not only does it look odd , it looks deeper cut , right at the wear markings on the side of the Upper from the Bolt Carrier . Just looks odd .
  3. You would think they have the ability to use Receivers in the White . You say the Creakote wears off with just twenty rounds ? Why would they coat the inside of the Receivers or is that how its done ? You can tell I know very little about the application of this stuff , I always thought it was some hard $hit .
  4. Yes , but both are considered as small frame 308AR's , I like POF's idea & it too is a Piston system .
  5. Not sure what Finnish is on the Camo ones , I did read that the Aero 1776 Parchment builder set is Cerakote , maybe they are all Cerakote , but I've never seen Cerakote wear off like that before . Like 98 said , maybe a tight fit . What does your BCG look like & what finish is on it ? Looking at a close up , it looks like its flaking off on the inside of the Receiver , I would call or email Aero & ask them about it .
  6. I think he is talking about a small frame 308AR , like the DPMS G2 , I would like a complete Upper & Lower myself , but have not found any for a build , just complete Rifles . Like the new small frame POF & DPMS G2 .
  7. Any for a 308AR should work , you have to start some where , you can always go to a Heavy Buffers, Buffer , if needed , or as you say , start off with one . The 140 gr. load will have less recoil impulse then a 175 gr. 308 , I would think , it would have somewhat the same Chamber pressure ( something that you would need to look up ) so basically the same Chamber pressures involved , so go with any 308AR Buffer system , AR 10, DPMS or Heavy Buffers . your call . https://www.americanrifleman.org/Webcontent/pdf/2009-6/200961145351-hornadycreedmoor.pdf 308 Winchester Reloading Specifications: Centerfire Rifle Cartridge Reloading: Equipment Procedure Case Primer Powder Bullet Load Testing Run-Out Calculating Kinetic Energy. 308 Winchester Cartridge: Bullet Diameter - .308". 8. I think you over did the Lube , she has some in the chamber .
  9. Thats an interesting article . I think the SD could be adj. to show better with changes in Powder & or Charge weight , interesting how some odd barrel lengths showed much better in the SD changes . I too would have liked to see some groups , just to see how they looked .
  10. & you got your $$ back ?
  11. Who is the manufacturer of that Upper Receiver ? The wear pattern is concerning , the Charging Handle is rubbing pretty hard on that Receiver & you should run a New 308AR build wet , keeping lubricant out of the Chamber , but don't be shy with it for about five hundred rounds . Some require less of a round count to get to normal oiling , but I like them wet to break them in , some here used Mobil 1 Syn. oil to break them in . I don't have an issue with a dab or two of Synthetic grease or Gun Slick grease , the Black granite looking stuff , not a lot , I will sometimes put a small dab on the back side of the Bolts locking lugs & Cam Pin , if stiff to lock , but still Head Races OK . Just Polishing the Feed Ramps may not be good enough , but if its feeding now , I wouldn't mess with it .
  12. Areo has a complete Lower on sale today https://aeroprecisionusa.com/m5-b5-bravo-complete-lower-black.html?sc_src=email_1858300&sc_lid=116340024&sc_uid=6WmFcKFmPv&sc_llid=21183&utm_source=Emarsys&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Weekly+Special+-+M5+(.308)+B5+BRAVO+Complete+Lower+Receiver+07.17.172017-07-17+18%3A04%3A00&sc_eh=dccc4f5c6385104f1
  13. If thats what Slash recommends from Heavy Buffers , Because he Custom Cuts some Springs .
  14. A basic answer to your question is , yes , your choice of Components will work . Do you have the Receiver extension already ? ( Buffer tube )
  15. Well , they make these AR's in 30'06 , 300 win mag . & 338 Lapua mag., why would a pip squeak round like a 260 have an issue working .
  16. That's pretty dirty for just a few rounds , agree , the marks are from the Locking Lugs on the Barrel Extension. Some of the 6.5's need Feed ramp work , because of the steep step up from the Case neck to Shoulder .
  17. I had a GenII SI Defense on an Early Billet CMMG Lower & it had issues with the original LR PMags , but would work fine with any Metal Mag brand & Lancer L 7 mags . The Upper also worked on my DPMS Lower , with all mags . The early CMMG was designed & made long before Magpul came out with their LR PMags. The Gen 3 LR PMags worked fine in this rifle . Magpul made some changes to the new Gen 3 .
  18. You say newly built , how about spec's on Components used for the build . You say Action functions with feeding & extracting , may need more or different lubricant for low break in round count , run her wet for break in on new build .
  19. The 308AR you have now is quite adequate to do what you want , nothing wrong with tinkering . Since you are low on cash flow , you can purchase another Upper Receiver & built it to suit with a 260 Barrel , make a complete Upper assembly & you have two calibers with the same Lower set up . Buy what you need when you can afford it , until you have it all together This link has some totally incorrect info or who ever was building that 260 or heard bad info to begin with .
  20. The Dillon primer pocket swager is a very good heavy duty one , thats for sure .
  21. All of those issues can be over come with the proper tuning & good Components . Do you plan on shooting long range ?
  22. No reason to be sorry , not really the wrong area , just look at how long some of the threads here
  23. Yes , I just have the early one , I believe you use one . Depriming is another story if your bending or breaking Depriming Pins .
  24. I see that Fed . NATO XM 193 5.56 is sold both with LC brass & American Eagle NATO XM 193 Ammo , could the AE be FC Brass ? I use the RCBS Primer Pocket Uniformer that is a Die you install in your Press
