Not to be too argumentative , but isn't that what I said . Velocity , impact/ kinetic energy , creating heat , which is enhanced because of the material used ( Deplete Uranium ) Once that crap is heated to a point , its like Magnesium ( may be a poor example , but I think you get the point )

Even though the Upper works on another Lower , my thoughts are always to match the Upper & Lower Receivers with the same Manufacturer , because of possible Tolerance Stacking ,causing fitment issues, because there are no Spec'd standards on 308AR's . Its your call .
-
Ya , Ford calls them a Supercab , its what my F150 has. Not as much room as the Crewcab with the full doors , but I like the longer Bed .
-
Nice looking Truck , half doors for the back seat ? Lease or buy ?
-
That ,could be an problem in determining if there is a fitment issue.

Contact the Barrel / Rifle manufacturer , If possible , if not , have it checked by ADCO or some other Barrel maker/repair or replace the barrel . Hard to say whats up , but the explanations above sound possible .
-
That would make some sense , but that weight Bullet would have the trajectory of a Bowling Ball & I don't buy the Armor penetration with the Tungsten core , the Depleted Uranium , maybe , because it creates its own energy at point of impact . I thought or read somewhere that it too has to be at a hyper speed to accomplish this , but I really don't know anything about this Barrel or ammo , got a link ?

Finished loading 52 rounds for testing that were completely loaded from start to finish on the new MEC press , Redding Bushing, Full length sizing Die & Forster Match Seating Die & Taper crimped , none of them had a run out over 0.002", most as tested were in the 0.001" range constantly , I tested some Milspec 308 ( 7.62x51 ) both LC & some of the Copper washed Russian crap & none were under 0.005" run out . Looks like I shot up all the Match ammo , its where I got the Match brass from I guess , strange I can't find any Chrono . data , but I only had five rounds each from various manufacturers to test . I did find some factory WW , Nickel Case & a Black Bullet ( Moly coated ? ) , I got from 0.0025 - 0.005" run out on just five of them & all but the one had 0.005" run out . I started to test my older ( if you can call them that ) Hand Loads & some of them went any where from 0.005-0.011" run out . These were loaded with 175 Gr. Nosler Match , 168 gr. Nosler Match , 168 gr. Hornady Amax & 168 gr. Hornady Match Bullets loaded . I'm kinda wondering if it the Bullet can have imperfections & some of the run out deviations ,it could be , but I just can't see it all being the Bullet , because when the case neck is tested for run out before seating the Bullet ,the run out is about the same after seating the Bullet . I think this New MEC , with its floating Shell Holder , combined with the Dies being used , makes a more detailed loaded round , now I wonder if my old Pacific Press has anything to do with the large run out in the loaded round & case Necks , after all , all these reloads were loaded with a fixed Shell Holder in the Pacific Press , but not with the Forster Seating Die . As far as how it shoots , well that will hopefully happen tomorrow .

Do you know anyone with a 308 BCG , that you can swap Bolt Carriers , just to test another Brand ? I think you are right about the BC not being cut correctly , have you contacted KAK ? Maybe they are aware of an issue with some rifles . Have you checked Head Space with this BCG ?

Missprint ?

What does Elfman say , have you contacted them ?

Since its a slick side Upper Receiver , there is not an Shell Deflector & the sharp edge of the Ejection Port is causing your dent as has been described in posts above . If you want to soften or decrease the sharpness of the dent in the Brass , you can relieve that area as you would a 1911 for shell ejection. Something like this on a 1911 slide , some Aluminum Black to color it & your Brass dent will not be as sharp or just deal with the dent , which will not completely come out with a Sizer Die , but will shoot out when fired & just make another dent .

He is , he is very well versed in the AR world & many others , he just has a different way of describing things , its good to listen to his advice .

He gave this out in the first page , I had to look for it also.

I do . Here's an example , you work on Bikes , if you worked on a factory bike & their was a component that was installed a certain way, by the manual and you got a factory authorized component that was installed opposite the way the manual described , How would you feel about that , what would be the words from you mouth or thoughts about it , if you spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out why it was not attaching they way the Factory Manual described ? Sure you can say , I have a great deal of experience & would not fall into this backwards made component , but you are not everyone & some may not have the experience you do to figure it out .Its why Assembly/Disassembly Manuals are made . Bigbrew did right to contact the manufacturer of this component that had the attachments that did not conform to ANY manual for assembly/disassembly of said component & he got it disassembled and I have to hand it to Faxon for their commitment to changing to the Manuals , be it a TM or other , specifications . You can say what you want , I'm not commenting here to cut a business down or harp on a Manufacturer , I always try to be honest with my opinions & say so , I don't apologize for my observations , its just an opinion & everyone has one . As far as which way the pins go , for attachment purposes , it really doesn't matter , as long as they are done properly ( except they are not to spec's in any manual ) the thing about them is that on someone making a period correct AR , they are not correct for that period & some do care about such small things . In my experience , working on & restoring Vintage HD's , some for show , if you put a Bolt in that was not period correct & Finnish , you get points off for that bolt being wrong , like it should have been Cadmium Plated , not Chrome , Stainless Steel or plain . Sure this rifle is not going to a custom gun show , but some do want these things to be correct . Just look at the Threads on this Forum about making a correct original AR 10 or SR 25 & see if they would stand for something not correct .

I don't know much about operating a Dam , but aren't you supposed to be regulating the water level to keep it from over flowing ?

The weed probably calmed him down , if he wouldn't have smoked it , he might have hacked some people . Getting into a fighting stance , Bang Bang Bang ! See if you block those 230 gr. Hard Ball's with that sword .

I sized 50+ once fired surplus LC 308's yesterday & all came out with very little run out , very consistent for brass supposedly fired from a worn out Belt fed . They are so nice & pretty after the SS tumble . I first thought that that Threaded insert moved from Sizing 308 LC surplus Brass , but the paint on that Insert was not disturbed as it would if it moved after it was painted , it just looked like it just was missed by Quality Control . The Engineers emailed me yesterday to ask me how it was going , nice they do a follow up .

The Tac-1 from MechArmor has a very stout spring for the Latch . I have not been able to get an update on Van's health , I will try again today.
