  1. That's funny. You'll be wearing a jacket liner and if I came to visit from Michigan I'd likely be wearing short sleeves lol.
  2. Why does the 308 even have forward assist? I tried mine today in preperation for hunting season. Letting it down easy to reduce noise.....the forward assist does nothing to help. What am I doing wrong?
  3. Took it out and tuned it today. 3-1/2 turns out from bottom. Definitely reduces the recoil.
  4. My reloading experience is limited. There is debate (from what I read) on uncompressed loads, whether they are forward or rearward in the case at the time of the shot as to velocity and other variables. Too technical for me ;D So by that theory compressed would be better in my mind. As far as compression goes in my loads it's minor. I can feel the bullet touch the powder and feel it compress but I think we're talking thousandths in depth. I run 25.3 H335 on my 55s 24.5 Varget on my 69s 44.5 Varget on my 175s and 46 Varget on my 150s.
  5. Welcome. Assuming this is not your first reload, Varget may work better for you than the H335. I use the H335 for my 55gr V-max loads but Varget for anything heavier.
  6. Follow through is staying on Target until the arrow strikes. It's fairly easy to start dropping you bow arm. This will cause nothing but grief. Once your bow is tuned, if your arrows aren't slapping each other its operator error.
  7. I don't find an armguards necessary for most modern compounds. My longbow however makes one pretty much mandatory. The best advice I can give is FOLLOW THROUGH.
  8. My 1K bullets arrived today along with JP adjustable gas block <thumbsup> <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
  9. My question is....since you don't see any mirage from a hot barrel.....and the sleeve isn't hot to the touch. Is it really keeping the "barrel" cooler or just containing all the heat inside the sleeve and "proprietary material" ?
  10. Welcome. You'll like the new purchase.
  11. This was amazingly easy. I put this on my Oracle 308. The muzzle break came off with a 3/4" open wrench and a couple light taps with a mallet. The set screws holding the stock block on and the pin came right out. The new JP went right on just as easy. I can tell you that if you reverse the muzzle break spacer it will though your break off 180* <laughs> I expect adjusting it will be just as easy. All in all I think it took about 20 minutes but some of that was back and forth to the garage for a wrench.
  12. Welcome aboard Greg
  13. Welcome

  15. I'm going to do my best to NOT be within pistol whipping distance of any of the undead. That's why I bought a 308 after all.
  16. Why are you guys always trying to make my weapon heavier?? <dontknow> <thumbsup>
