  1. That looks pretty fancy....
  2. I got that IRS scam call on the work phone a few days ago so I called the number, and sure enough some indian dude with broken enlish says "thees ees the IRS" I text the number to the other trucks and we prank called him until he stopped answering. It was pretty entertaining. I kept asking him for slurpees in my best Apu accent.
  3. Just long enough....
  4. Same buffer either way. No hurry so ill probably snatch something up on one of the memorial day sales.
  5. The Q5 makes it easy. Honestly. I cant do that with my P99 as much as I love it. Im sure the gun is capable but i just dont get to train enough to get it done. Im sold on pistol optics. Not for any accuracy advantage but for the speed advantage and ease of target acquisition. Both eyes open and just put the dot where you want the round to fall. Im planning on making the fall shoot so some of you guys will see how good this thing is.
  6. That sounds pretty damn cool.
  7. Little update on the optic. Getting ready for my yearly vegas work trip and im bringing the Q so I popped a fresh battery in. Shield claims a couple years for battery life but it was noticeably less bright after 6 months. It was still plenty usable, but clearly down on power. To be fair ive kept the gun in a lit area 24/7 sice I installed the RMS so ive pushed the battery pretty hard. 6 months on full bright isnt too bad, and you dont need to remove the unit it to swap batteries so no biggie. probably 1500ish rds through the gun and not a single hiccup. this thing is fantastic.
  8. Seems like something comes up every weekend so no pewpew yet. Hoping this sunday since im heading out of town for work for 2 weeks after that and the rifles are dusty. You never realize how much broken crap you have in your house until you are trying to get ready for an appraisal. Seksy gun porn pic
  9. Lol....that looks rough
  10. First they snatched the pistol contract away from some very qualified contenders, and now they swoop in on battle tested optics with their relatively new gear. Sig must have the absolute toppest tier hookers & blow.
  11. Solid week of use. No issues. Dropped it a few times with no damage. Battery indicator hasnt moved over a shift. was getting stepped on now and then until I set up a privacy channel and not a peep since. Lost coms from one side of a mall to the other, but thats a whole lot of walls to get through with a 2" antenna and AA batteries so expected. Pretty happy with these.
  12. Looks like it will be the same price to just buy a cheap buffer than the bumper lol.
  13. Shot in the dark. I need a bumper and roll pin that goes on the back of the buffer. KAK sells them for a buck but shipping is $8. None of the other places I get small parts seem to have them.
  14. First thing is going to be figuring out what wrench will work on that barrel nut. You can probably rig a barrel vise after that.
  15. Thats what the F Im talking about! Nice job.
  16. Lol, I kinda did. Its called a "cash out" VA refinance. Thank you home equity and good credit! The little guy is ready to rock though.
  17. I qualified a few times with the orange paintball of fury, but never deployed one. That would go sweet with the LMT lower. There was a guy on ARF selling 203 handguards with front/rear sights for $75. already mentally taking inventory of things I can sell to buy this lol. So much for cheap builds :(
  18. That looks pretty neat. Good way to price stuff out at least.
  19. Oh dear...how cool would a 203 clone be. This always happens :( https://www.brownells.com/shooting-accessories/duty-gear/safety-amp-warning-equipment/m203-37mm-launcher-prod118458.aspx
  20. We seldom drop below freezing and spend a good bit of time over 100. Already broke it this year and suppose to be 106 on sunday. I am lacking in window and door insulation as well but that fight is for another day. This upgrade will be tapping me out for a while. Thanks for all the input. Everything posted here gives me something to research.
  21. Thanks guys. Been reading through this guys blog and it looks like he puts out some good info and advice. https://asm-air.com/airconditioning/furnace-air-conditioner-combo-cost/
  22. Thanks @GoodByNAair. Im in Tucson, AZ so a few weeks of pretty cold and a few months of really really hot. Basically my central air went out. Its a package heat/AC unit on the roof. im sure its just a broken line somewhere but the entire thing is really old and inefficient. my gas and electric bills are really bad for the hottest/coldest months. It uses the old refrigerant and will cost a ton to refill and im tired of throwing money at it so its time to upgrade. The evap is working for now, but it wasnt designed to cool the whole house. its mounted in the room labeled POOL. I can open that room to the rest of the house for temporary relief but its useless when the monsoons come or for anything over 100* The room labeled AZ ROOM is not ducted in but looks like it had a separate slim split at one point. There is capped wiring on the roof right there. It has a big fireplace so no need for heat. there are big glass doors between AZ, POOL, and the main house so I can close off whatever isnt being used. im not overly concerned about this room at the moment. Its more of a luxury depending on how much the main upgrade is going to cost. I dont really mind the ugly roof unit. Most of the houses around here use them, but it looks like there was a split outside/inside unit on the house at one point so I could probably go back to that if it was a better option. i really dont want to have to put in new duct work or any major construction. Knowing which brands are solid and reliable would be helpful. Ive been reading but there is alot of info and lots of opinions out there.
  23. Agree...but also a sign that maybe they learned an important lesson from that fiasco.
  24. The house is pretty compartmentalized. The evap and AC are independent and on opposite sides of the house. I have lots of big sliding glass doors so I can close off certain areas. Right now im running the evap when it gets warm and I open up the house to let it flow , but when I run the AC I close off the side where the evap is located. I think at one point there was a small AC unit (mini split I think its called?) over the large family room. There is an electrical line up on the roof and a hole in the brick leading outside. I filled it with expanding foam when I moved in. There is a closet directly under where the roof unit sits I use for storage and I assume thats where an old system was, so I can probably go either split or package unit without too much trouble.
  25. My pop is on his way out. He got through bladder cancer...then got through lung cancer...and is now terminal with brain cancer. Also has a little piece of metal in his back that occasionally moves and causes infections and abscesses. He went to the VA several years ago and he said they handed him a phonebook sized pile of paperwork to fill out and he said F- this and walked out.
