  1. I love shopping local, so I understand. I have one 556 gun that's almost all AZ built parts. With that said....I'd suggest skipping that upper. Some where, some time, you are going to want a different handguard. It's a fact. You are limiting yourself, and hurting your resale value should you choose to go a different direction. I like to build guns with basic, but quality parts. Standard gas blocks, standard buffers, regular BCGs. If there is an issue, work it from that baseline. If not and the gun runs great...why throw money at fancy stuff? Not saying it's the best approach, just saying it's been working for me. If you do upgrade later, at least you can feel the difference between the fancy parts and the standard parts and decide if the upgrade is worthwhile. The take off stuff can be sold, or end up in the parts box to birth shiny new builds. I think you said you wanted an A2 stock? The standard DPMS 308 rifle buffer is heavier than a heavy carbine buffer, so no real need to upgrade there. Consider a 16" barrel. Save a little weight, save a couple inches for maneuverability. Not much appreciable accuracy loss unless you are shooting really far.
  2. One piece of advice I can give The biggest gripe most people have with these big frame guns is lack of standardization. It makes it hard to troubleshoot and upgrade. Adding more proprietary or house brand stuff can complicate the issue. Not a big deal if they are building a complete rifle and testing it for you, and you have no plans to swap parts around, but still something to think about. Muzzle device will make a huge difference in how the gun feels, but it's a game of tradeoffs. Best recoil reduction will be obnoxiously loud etc. These piggies get heavy quick
  3. Read a few articles in the past about troops hating G36s.
  4. Good Lord that trans am is rad....
  5. Sweet! How do I apply to be on a TSA VIPR team????
  6. Ha! I like it! The white is a little bright though. Wonder if you could distress it a little more with a quick dip in some tan rit dye? The pattern worked out nice though.
  7. We will loose the 2A. after some time passes and false statistics show all us sheep that crime dropped significantly to justify it, there will be a horrendous mass shooting perpetrated by average Joe with a grandfathered ASSAULT RIFLE. That will begin the confiscation push. That's when the ugly decision will be made.

    Intro

I read tesla was toying with an amphibious version of the new car....just sayin
  9. Destroying the US is very much the plan. The only thing preventing agenda 21 and one world government are dictators who will not share power and armed populations. We are doing a bang up job of removing the small time dictators all over the middle east and n Africa. Were poking at the bigger problematic ones. I'm sure there are plans in place for them, including crashing the global economy and starving them into obedience. Our 2A fight is bigger than people realize.
  10. Oh no....they have a clue. They know exactly what they are doing. The real tragedy is how easy and how well it's working. Liberal savages assault people and destroy property at EVERY SINGLE Trump gathering. There was even an assassination attempt. Bernie and Hillary gatherings go off without a hitch. Nothing more than signs from the opposition. Reason? Trump and his followers are violent and racist.
  11. You can charge a raptor equipped gun with either hand without pulling it away from my shoulder. Just need to lift your head off the stock a few inches as it comes back. It actually feels faster and more stable to use my right hand. This thing looks like a failure point. Aditionally, if you are running an optic with a thumbscrew like my compM4 with the factory QRP mount, you are going to run out of room for your hand. Might even hold true for QD scope mounts. My BOBRO sticks out pretty far. I'm running, the same CASV as he is with a raised top rail, and I think it would be a tight fit. A normal height receiver looks like it would have interference issues if you couldn't flip the mount to the other side
  12. Baby boy had tubes put in his ears Friday, and has had between 101° and 104° fever since 2am. Thinking any plans I had are void lol.
  13. Came with 3 sets of springs. I'm running the lightest for the strongest hammer fall. My understanding is its the same as the 24C but has a traditional trigger bow and no finger pad. My buddy has the C in a 5.56 gun and he likes the straight trigger, but the matrix has the fixed trigger guard and I didn't want to run into clearance issues.
  14. Lol. That's awesome. Do you still have the scars? Plan on buying a new muzzle device this week as well. Baby steps. Update: Muzzlebrakesandmore tac-beast installed. It's great behind the trigger, but it's god-awful punishing to the sides. Like blowing crap off the bench sonic boom loud. It does work amazing for recoil though. Literally feels like a 5.56 gun. Standing mag dumps are easy.
  15. Check out natchez shooting sports. They sell refurbished and factory blem scopes at great prices. I think they have free shipping over $100 for the weekend. You can get pretty specific with your search parameters. I'd advise you to up your budget a little. That airsoft quality stuff you linked probably won't survive long on a 308, but you can find something decent from a reputable company in the $250 range. Also, things like ilum reticle and piggyback red dots add cost, so if a scope has all that crap and still costs $150....you can be sure it's junk. Keep it simple in that price range
  16. Bam. Hipertouch 3gun. Want to try it out tomorrow, but it's suppose to be 117° or some insane ish, so maybe next week. Update: Hipertouch had no issue with herters steel cased .308 and 2 types of ancient crap milsurp. She's a keeper.
  17. Bajilions of scope options. You really need to do some soul searching to narrow it down. Price, mag range, reticle. Looking for hunting? Target? Tacticool? Far as lasers I never got into them, but cheap is cheap. Spend some money or its just a waste. My experience with viridian green lasers is they are really bright. Decent daylight visibility at short range. Go forever at night. Also had an a LDI OTAL that was amazing at night, but the red isn't very visible during the day.
  18. My friends wife shoot right handed with left eye. Looks painful sometimes.
  19. 80% and homemade lightning link? Add in a fuel filter suppressor for the federal buttrape trifecta.
  20. @shepp They were right on the money size wise. I usually wear between 10-10.5. Bought 10.5 and they fit fine. Could probably go up half a size and still be ok. Don't think they would be good for riding though. The sole is thin and not very supportive. Your foot would probably wrap around the pedal and get sore pretty fast. Probably wouldn't be my choice in any sharp terrain for that reason.
  21. I'm offended. We need to call this the disabled stock.
  22. Not boots....but I bought those 511 tactical recon trainers a year or so ago. Got them on sale, and immediately noticed they were made in China :( they looked well made, but are extremely light. Like styrofoam light. I didn't have real high hopes. So here we are and not a single stitch popped. Tread is wearing but still good. I wear these 5 to 6 days a week at the day job where I'm either driving for 10 hours straight in town on and off the pedals all day, or up and down from the truck every few minutes. Also work my side gig that's pretty much non stop walking. Was in Vegas recently for work and the phone app said I walked 64 miles and 77 flights of stairs over the week. Was pulling 17 hour shifts. All that and no foot cramps. Only issue u see with them is winter or wet use, as they have zero insulation. I also find myself wearing them around on my days off. I dont buy clothing or shoes often. I still have a few jackets and a pair of Doc's from high school 20 years ago. Very happy with these and will buy again if I find them on sale. They have some cool colors too. http://www.511tactical.com/recon-trainer.html
  23. I would have thrown the dirt clod too.
