  4. Some people are way too uptight! http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/spring-airlines-flight-attendants-wear-sexy-maid-uniforms--just-because--202022055.html Jon
  5. I've seen reports that Andrea Bocelli (sp?) and Jack Nicholson both were spared being aborted, though no way to verify that. There's a meme that goes "God, why won't you send us someone to cure all of our ills?" to which he replies "I did...and you aborted them." The description of that "doctor's" clinic sounds like something from a horror flick. Jon
  6. 489hp in something that weighs 1/6th what my Ranger does. And my Ranger would do wheelies with that kind of hp. Jon

That is some cool beans there! Turkeys around here are outstanding at taunting people. They'll stand on a hill next to a road a week before hunting season...then disappear. Jon
  8. Keep hanging around here and that'll change. Probably every couple of weeks I'll be going through something and say "Oh look! More magazines!" Jon

Looks like that deer was saying "Hey...what's this?!" Looks like you're going to have a bumper turkey crop this year! Jon
  10. Nice! That 25 yard target is good! Especially for a .45 smaller than a Walther PP. Jon
  11. I think we were shooting somebody's slidefire with a JP brake up in Sierra Vista...keep a whole mag on target with that slidefire. Jon
  12. Sounds like the wrong bullets in the .243 rifle. More solid, less bonded. Hard to argue with .30-06's proven century+ of solid performance. It's easy to get sucked into the new cartridge hype. Lot's of deer still get dropped DRT with a .30-30 shooting hardcast lead. Jon
  13. There was some inmate always talking about his customized rice-rocket. Someone commented about "You can't outrun the helicopter." He just said "Man, those can't even go 150mph!" Jon
  14. I like Frontier Guns in Tucson. The old dude loves the cowboy stuff, his wife runs the non-gun stuff...western old things. His prices are pretty good anyway, never had him not knock the price down a bit. Thunderstick Trading Company for reloading components. Jon

  16. I was watching some of their videos a few months ago...they've greatly expanded their channel it looks like. There was a movie about Billy The Kid, where someone had loads made up with dimes as the "shot". That line should probably be in the "Best movie lines" thread. Jon
  17. All the hardware stores around here sell wet/dry sandpaper to very fine levels, most have 800 grit, some going as high as 2000 grit. Jon
  18. Or this bad boy right here!! http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=337633734 Jon
  19. Tried that with my ex once. Before I knew what happened, she'd punched me like 5 times in the nads against my thigh. Curled up in a ball, I asked "What the hell did you do that for?!?" "You asked me to planish you balls." Don't date chicks with hearing problems. Jon

  23. Well we made it to the range again this morning, with my student and his Hogan .308 rifle. The sheet from their service department stated all they did was lube it, then ran a few round through it. They also must have reworked the takedown and pivot pins and/or lug holes, as the pins can now be pushed with no tools (though much harder than either of my RRA or the BCM/2VA AR). As his frustration built with his $3k POS, as luck would have it, one of the foremost riflemen in the world showed up at the range...who also happens to work at the retailer where the rifle was bought. As we discussed how the cases would only extract every other round, the difficult extraction, the extractor ripping a piece off of every other rim, he stated "If I had purchased it for that amount, I'd just drive it up to the factory...especially since they claim they fixed it." So pitch number three is going to be walking into the Hogan shop directly. I'll keep everyone updated. Jon
