  1. Funny. Six years ago, when "conspiracy theorists" were saying the Fukushima disaster was many magnitudes greater than Chernobyl, "authorities" worldwide were saying everything was okay. Being a tinfoil-hathead myself, I haven't eaten any Pacific or unidentified source sea fish since that meltdown. Incredible.
  2. That one MSNBS did brought the Remington issue to the forefront again. If I was one of their lawyers, I'd say "We agree to pay X-amount, so long as victim-Y becomes a firearms safety instructor for the rest of their life." I'd bet their students would never hear "It's okay, the gun is unloaded," or "No problem, my finger was off the trigger," or "No it wasn't pointed at you!" That bullcrap most certainly doesn't cut it when your child is doing the Floppy Coyote for the last 30 seconds of their life.
  3. Just ask R2 to put some padding in the gang box, you can nap in there while he goes from warp to plaid.
  4. Too good brother!
  5. FIFY As sad as these events are when they come to pass, anyone would be hard pressed to convince me this rule wasn't violated. Casual handling of firearms of any type is far too common, far too accepted.
  6. Hemi's stuck on his period.
  7. Very true. Robo could also put the money on two separate Visa cards, one for Mom and one for Dad.
  8. Beautiful Pappy! Congrats on the retirement too! When you moving to Arizona?
  9. Pedophile?!? I thought it was a protest to free Candy, wrongfully imprisoned for refusing to dance with a pole on stage. Dang Sisco, get your mind out of the gutter!
  10. Aw man. Once we are out of this 'hood, never going to pay HOA fees again.
  11. You need to mount a couple of wooden ladders above the tops of the bed rails, get a red light bar for on top of the cab, and make up a ".308AR Quench Dept." seal for each front door.
  12. The 1:8 twist on .308 bored barrels is for the new super heavy long-distance rounds, with the projectiles being 295gr with the tungsten core and the military-only depleted uranium coming in at 365gr. Muzzle velocity is low for both, below 2000fps, but both still retain over 1600fps past 1400 yards. The ability to punch through light armor at 700 yards is pretty impressive if you ask me! Interesting that these are being sold to the general public. I was under the impression they were only being sold for remotely operated platforms on the new Chevrolet Knight Rider and Bell Helicopters Airwolf 2020 project.
  13. Interesting. I have the same sort of bore variation with a Ruger MKIII pistol. Cleaning from the breach end, there is an area about 7/8" long ending at the muzzle that is noticeably "looser" than the preceeding bore. My theory is that this particular barrel was clamped super-mongo hard when being bored and then, when the clamping force was loosened, it allowed some spring force in the steel to open up a couple of thousandths or so of an inch. I've seen this happen with non-barrel lathe work. That being said, what type brand of rifle is this we're talking about? Did you purchase/acquire this rifle new? Is the outside of the barrel bulged? I've seen .30-30 rifles and handguns "ring" the barrel, when they were fired with a barrel obstruction, the ring appearing just behind where there obstruction had been.
  14. Now that this is over, Magwa needs to film a how-to video on how the hell he made Damascus stone!
  15. My buddy was a SeaBee down near there. When he told me about going to New Orleans, I asked "Did you go for Mardi Gras?!" "No. Why?" "Because it's a big party!" He said "New Orleans is always a big ass party, man!"
  16. I too use the Howard Leight. Just (within the past year) got a new set of theirs, which electronically cancel out up to 32db. IMO the magnification on this pair doesn't work as well as the green 28db but they sure block noise well!
  17. Welcome from Arizona!
  18. So far I only see one article on it, so it could be. But it is also Mardi Gras. One thing is for certain, there's lots and LOTS of drunks at Mardi Gras, so it could be just a drunk driver.
  19. I'm liking these guys more and more!
  20. /\/\/\/\ Funny stuff Doc! Only issue is this: that is a depiction of a female goat.
  21. You reminded me of this car scene:
  22. Just got an email that my Silencer Smooth has shipped!
  23. Dude I worked with was a BP Station Chief for many years. During his tenure he had to respond to 16 incidents where his agents shot people. At the time BP issue was 9mm Federal 115gr +P+. All perps were shot once and DRT, with no additonal hostilities encountered. Shot placement is like real estate: location, location, location.
