  1. "Hold my beer and watch this!" <laughs> Seriously though...that looks like some mega ouch.
  2. Because the media is so stupid? I agree. Lock up all the reporters!
  3. Kinda hard to come at someone who worked their way to the top, coming from the bottom someplace else, that is well below what the bottom in the USA is.
  4. No doubt about it. Car salesmen must have looked at the housing market and said "Hey, check this out. We can charge mongo interest for 80 months and get TWICE as much money for half what vehicles used to be!"
  5. Yeah, you should be good here. Now if you had a ribbon for service in Her Majesty's SAS-Delta Force-SEAL-Ballistic Missile Squadron, we may start asking some questions.
  6. Longest...hit. We found a pile of 10mm brass on the OTHER side of the berm at Marana. It's then I remembered Mike running around, scanning the ground saying "I thought I fired more 10mm than that?" While most of it looked like Mike's typical brass, a few of them most definately, positively had propeller dings on them...which explains whey the aircraft overhead now fly a semi-circle downwind to avoid overflying the range.
  7. Welcome from AZ! The ribbon patrol will be along soon enough.
  8. And welcome from AZ!
  9. Vile weeds!
  10. Nope. I mean like "I know what I'm doin' and don't need to learn nothing! I been huntin' since I was 5, so there's nothin' anyone could teach me," competence.
  11. The "logic" behind the straight walled cartridges is they typically use flat nose bullets, which dissipates energy faster than a spire point. The theory is a few hundred yards, as opposed to several hundred.
  12. And doing it twice is evidence of slack-jawed competence.
  13. More info would be better, like what stock is currently on the rifle. For aftermarket charging handles you have one choice: PRI Gas Buster, in your choice two configurations. The LAR-8 CH is significantly longer than either the DPMS or Armalite pattern CHs.
  14. That stuff is awesome! You can use a firehose to apply blah blah and still have no issues with rust.
  15. More welcome from AZ!
  16. Sadly that just usually doesn't happen...with revolver or semi-auto. Like another friend says (quoting Kim Jong Il) "You MUST train every day!"
  17. I don't. Saying semi-autos "are complicated" is like telling students they are too stupid to learn. Revolvers that are ideal for EDC, when compared to a like-sized/same weight semi-auto, flat out suck. A 5-shot aluminum framed revolver carries 40% less ammo, sights are beyond suckage, and they hurt to practice with from the factory. Add in bulky "speed" loaders and it takes their training commitment to a whole different level. The absolute hardest thing for new shooters to overcome is recoil accompanied by pain. Most retail workers that recommend lightweight revolvers to new shooters aren't able to hit the target with their recommendation. Time and time again, I've seen new shooters show up with "simple" revolvers that cost them twice as much as a comparable semi-auto and end up purchasing a semi-auto after taking the class.
  18. Ooooo! Indexible muzzle brake with 180° of rotation and vents on only one side!
  19. Glad I have old beaters. This computerized crap has run its course. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/s/terrifying-hackers-over-jeep-driving-down-highway-70-191505442.html This can only mean one thing: Congress will feel the need to get involved in (further) regulating automobiles.
  20. Versatility. If you happen to have a spot in your mission that requires a hush-splatter on a melon, you have some subsonics. Is it easier to tune a .308 Win down to .300 BLK or crank up a .300 BLK to .308 Win levels?
  21. Okay...still congrats! These photos I can see. That robot competition is getting big. Just read where they want an annual robot competion between the USA and Japan.
  22. :hethan: Congrats mrmackc! Oddly I don't see a photo in your post but see a link I can't click in the quote. <dontknow>
  23. Beating the same drum here (let me know if it gets old) but the flag wasn't lowered because it was a confirmed muslim doing the murdering.
  24. Revolvers did just fine for LE and still would. But the feds switched so all the locals had to follow suit. Plenty of evidence to show local PDs and sheriff depts padded crime states in the '90s, in order to justify the purchase price of semi-autos. Now the prices have flipped and wheelies are the pricey fun guns.
  25. I think the reason the S&W forum says they are "worthless" is so they can get a leg up on folks looking to sell or trade. The -#s give a person a very good idea of production dates, if it is a limited edition (for example the 25-7 in .45 Colt, matte finish, unfluted cylinder, pre-lock, "Model of 1989" on the barrel), etc. Smith also screws up once in awhile, like when they turned out a couple of dozen .45 revolvers on M29 frames. Get one of those with a authentication letter from Smith and collectors go googy.
