  1. That's what I was thinking when I read his first post. Working fine and then all of a sudden it goes wonky is almost always something getting into the trigger assembly that doesn't belong there.
  2. Glad you got it sorted out! 1911s are my forte but 308ARs not so much, that's how I ended up here!😝
  3. I posted that meme on my Facebook page a while back. You can't imagine the schit comments I got from some people, not friends or acquaintances, people who I didn't know and they didn't know me. You gotta love the 'delete' option on other peoples' posts and the ability to bar them from even reading your posts. Probably the best features on Facebook!
  4. I hear you brother. Just know that you will miss it when you do!
  5. @98Z5VTom, thanks for posting this. I saw it when you first posted it but waited until I had time to sit and read all the way through with no interruptions (hard to do right now). It describes exactly how I felt about the job, better than I could do on my own. I miss it terribly but Mayra doesn't want me doing it anymore and I have to respect that. I keep close ties with local law enforcement to try and stay in the loop but it's not the same. I have to say, even with all the B.S. hating on LEOs I still feel honored to have gotten to do what I did and can say that I never tarnished 'the badge'. I always respected what that badge stood for and always will.
  6. Damn, that's a messed up thing to do to a Model A!
  7. DAMN! 98 putting a thread back on the rails!!! The sky is falling!
  8. Same here!
  9. Top Fuel drag racing is another one that has had it's effect on me.
  10. Welcome to the Forum. Great build post too!
  11. Yeah, I DID just post this on my Facebook! Probably get put in Facebook jail or maybe even outright banned. DILLIGAF???
  12. THAT^^^^^ right there!
  13. You're going to load 110's subsonic?
  14. Insult to injury..........I'm set up for .308, .223, 45 ACP, 40 S&W, 300 BLK, 9mm, all quick change for my Dillon 550! I'll be adding 38 Super pretty soon. 😁
  15. We were issued HK USP's in 40 S&W and I liked the gun a lot (I was dept. armorer and firearms instructor) and it was WAY better than the P.O.S. S&W 4006's the previous chief had acquired for us. As much as I liked those USP's I still preferred a 1911. If I was a street cop now and could carry whatever I wanted I would go with one of these; https://staccato2011.com/product/staccato-p/
  16. I agree with you brother but I would still take a good Colt 1911 over either one of them! (yeah, I'm old school)
  17. Fukker! Sunday started out okay here, wet but the sun was shining. Looked like it had rained the night before. A couple of hours later it all went to schit! It was snowing and blowing and I'm thinking WTF just happened! By the end of the day everything is covered with about 6" of snow and Monday morning it's still there, with a nice layer of ice underneath. We're 30 miles from the Mexican border and it's like I'm back in Kansas. Fukk my life! Oh, and to top it off, Sunday when it's snowing and blowing Josh sends me a picture. He's out at my property in Vail getting some wood he has stored out there and the sun is shining, the grandsons are playing and my daughter-in-law is wearing shorts. That's only 200 miles away. He said it was beautiful weather! Dammit, I gotta get this house sold and get over to Arizona!
  18. I seriously doubt that you could do anything more than superficial damage to a barrel with a bench vise! As for the feedramps, let it go and don't be OCD about it! In the grand scheme of things a "tiny bit shifted from perfect alignment" will have no effect on how the gun functions.
  19. Looks like some of the schit I used to see when I worked on the oil rigs back in the 70's! Roughneck engineering at it's finest right there, before OSHA started coming around and poking their noses into things! Fukkers!😠
  20. Thanks guys. My wife and I have both had both of our vaccine shots. Her sister, who is living with us right now has too, she just got her second shot. I'm still doing the mask thing and social distancing. The social distancing thing was never a problem for me. Being a retired cop I'm a stand off MF'er anyway, I don't like getting close to people as it is (except for cute girls, I'll hug a cute girl in a heartbeat).
  21. Well, over the last week two of my best friends, both fellow officers who retired within a couple of years of my retirement went down from Covid. Wayne wasn't in the best of health but Mikey was in great health, had lifted weights ever since high school and was always outdoors doing something, usually hunting. Mikey's passing really hit me hard, I knew he was in the hospital (about 4 weeks) and I couldn't even go see him! I just don't get it, this schit doesn't zero in on one particular type of person!
  22. Get a Dillon! Just think, with a Dillon you would have had 1600+ rnds of loaded ammo for the same effort!
  23. We lost one of ours Thursday afternoon to a piece of schit that probably shouldn't have even been on the streets. This took place just a little outside of Deming, where I live. The azzhole traveled another 40 miles before he tried to take out another officer but got put down like the animal he was and deserved. The second officer (Las Cruces PD) was taken to a trauma hospital in El Paso and underwent surgery but was later released and taken home. Darian Jarrot left a fiance and three small children behind with another one on the way. We (the Choir Boys LEMC) will be taking a check to his fiance in the next couple of days and if the Las Cruces PD officer who was shot is going to be off work for an extended period of time we will also be taking him a check to help him and his family through his time of convalescing. To all of you that have bought tickets from me for the gun raffles over the last couple of years, YOU made this possible! THANK YOU for the support my friends. https://www.police1.com/officer-down/nm-state-police-officer-and-suspect-shot-killed-on-highway-ru3B5NlHd60b4JtK/
  24. That's way too heavy and is probably your problem.
