  1. Trayvon Martin targets? Where? Obummer's gonna have a fit! <lmao>
  2. If the barrel does not protrude past the frame ramp when pushed back and the gun feeds okay then I would leave it alone. The 1911 is designed to have a slight offset between the ramp and bottom of the barrel (bottom of the barrel being slightly forward of the top edge of the feedramp). Every 1911 I've owned that didn't have a ramped barrel had this offset and it has never been a problem. I've been 'smithing 1911's for 30 years and that is my opinion, for what it's worth.
  3. Probably just a break-in glich and may never happen again. That is one sweet looking pistol! <thumbsup>
  4. Quite an analogy there brother! <lmao> I used to cast my own bullets back in the day and still have 200+ lbs. of lead sitting around. I quit doing it when I could buy cast bullets at prices that were more attractive than standing over a hot lead pot. A couple of years ago I started using moly coated cast bullets and haven't bought a wax lubed bullet since then. I shoot a LOT of .40 (USPSA) and the moly bullets are the best thing I've found short of buying jacketed bullets. I keep everything I need to cast my own just in case the liberals find a way to shut down commercial supplies though! I can even cast .30 cal. gas checked rifle bullets!
  5. Outstanding! <thumbsup> http://www.theblaze.com/stories/surveillance-vid-shows-71-year-old-concealed-carry-holder-opening-fire-on-would-be-robbers/
  6. I store all my loaded rifle ammo in G.I. ammo cans and pistol ammo in 50 rnd or 100 rnd plastic boxes. All my brass, dirty or clean, is dumped into coffee cans. For some reason I always seem to have more empty brass than loaded! :o <laughs>
  7. Yup, I still remember the first time I shot on an indoor range. It was with a S&W Mod. 57 41 Magnum! :o
  8. Okay, I finally figured out how to downsize these pics so I could post them here I think. (I know, I'm a computer tard!) These are those Texas jalapeno sausages we grilled up on the 4th. There's also bacon wrapped 'dogs and carne asada. The foil bags have sliced bell peppers, onions, jalapenos & seasoning cooking in them to go on the dogs. Ten pounds of sausage, ten pounds of carne asada, around 20 hot dogs with all the sides and a keg of Ziegenbock Amber on tap and next to nothing left over! Now I got the family all after me to get more sausage and the wife says to get 20 lbs. next time! <lmao>
  9. New Mexico Magazine used to have a last page column titled 'One of Our 50 is Missing'. Every edition it was a different story about someone mistaking us for a foreign country! <lmao> Lincoln County is beautiful country, and full of history! <thumbsup>
  10. That's definitely a new twist! Looking through the site I can see he does some amazing work! I have a 1972 Colt Python that I want to get reblued, but I want it done right. Looks like that might be the place to get it done.
  11. Yup! <laughs> <thumbsup>
  12. Nice rifle! <thumbsup> BTW, you know you got your big toes in that first pic dontcha? <lmao>
  13. As he picked up his hammer and saw! <thumbsup>
  14. Can't beat the great desert southwest! Arizona is very pro gun, but for some reason New Mexico gets kind of overlooked. We basically have the same gun freedoms as Arizona!
  15. Way to go Edge, your kid comes first! <thumbsup>
  16. Nice! <thumbsup>
  17. Seagiant, nothing wrong with the A2 look and it looks like you have the best of both worlds, you can take the carry handle off and mount an optic if you want. There are no bad looking AR's, we all just have different tastes and that's what makes the AR platform so cool, you can modify it to suit your tastes. These things are kind of like old musclecars, you're the owner/operator so build it into what you want. You don't have to please anyone but yourself! <thumbsup>
  18. What Robo said! <thumbsup> I've seen a couple of AR-15's with the front sight cut off the gas block and they look pretty good after a little file work to smooth them out and some cold blue!
  19. A big hammer and a good punch with plenty of support on the backside. If those pins are anything like the ones I've done on 2 AR-15's they are TIGHT!
  20. Mrraley hooked me up with a CAR buffer for an outstanding price! Great member to deal with.
  21. IM sent! <thumbsup>
  22. It's the internet, you just never know for sure! :cookoo:
  23. Yup, that's just what I need!
  24. I found a spring in my parts, now I just need a buffer.
