Nothing you can't handle Tom! Now wipe that grin off your face! <laughs>

'E' is one I've always believed in. I've always said,"If I'm carrying concealed I want it to be a complete surprise to the center of uranus when I shoot him to make him stop doing whatever it was he was doing to make me shoot him!" Surprising people is so much fun! <laughs>

POF 308 Scope Mounting/Boresighting
392heminut replied to navybowhunter's topic in General Discussion
10 ft. is WAY too close! I do the same as you, but bore sight at an object 50 yards away (local newspaper office! <lmao>) and have always been close enough to be on paper at 100 yards when I get to the range. At 10 ft. I'm not surprised you ran out of adjustment! -
Until the neighbors catch you and call the cops! <lmao> Actually, I bore sight mine on the newspaper office across the street. I'm still waiting on that visit from the popo. Only thing that I can think why it hasn't happened yet is the editor is a friend of mine and I supply him with all the varsity wrestling pics for the sports section during the season! <dontknow>

Not a problem. <thumbsup>

I doubt that it will ever be dead, the U.N. will just keep coming back with it again and again. This go around is not the first one! I've said it before and I'll say it again, the U.N. needs to be kicked out of this country!

That it didn't smack you in the eye when you shot it? <dontknow> <lmao>

I don't have any experience with Harrisons but they look pretty damn robust!

Good deal Shepp, glad it played out so smooth for you. <thumbsup> Now I don't feel so bad about hijacking your thread! <lmao>

YESSSSSSSS!!!! <thumbsup>

Yep, Harrison does have non-adjustable night sights for the LPA cut. I posted a link to them in my original post. If I'm not mistaken, Wichita Sights came up with the LPA cut to get around Bomar's patent back in the day. Not sure if they are even around anymore.
-
Nice! <thumbsup>
-
Robo, his sights are definitely LPA type. They are similar to the Bomar, but the dovetail is further back and the elevation screw goes into the dovetail, not onto a threaded hole in the slide. It's enough of a difference that the sights aren't interchangeable.

He was just messing with me Rene. That post was totally tongue-in-cheek!

F*#king administrators! Those people are so far out of touch with the streets it's debatable that they were ever real cops at all during their careers! Dewey Stokes was president of the FOP back when the first assault weapons ban was being pushed through and backed the bill. In an interview he was asked if he had polled his members to get their opinion on the bill and his response was "I don't have to, they elected me to speak for them." At the next national meeting he was asked to resign because of his actions and he refused. I know of at least one lodge that every member turned in their membership cards at that meeting and quit the FOP. I never renewed my membership after that either. Come the next election for FOP pres. ol' Dewey was out of a job!

I'm glad you put those smilies in there, otherwise I'd have to hunt you down and try to kick yer ass! I say try because at my age I'd probably end up gettin what I was trying to dish out! <lmao>

I hope that is true, that would be the best news I've heard in a while! <thumbsup>

Jgun, they do it all the time. Both parties employ that trick. They will put stuff in a bill that has absolutely nothing to do with the original bill. Sometimes one party will do it as a concession to the other party to gain more voted from the opposition, other times they do it to pass something that would not pass on it's own so it gets attached to a bill that both sides want to pass. This is just one example of the dirty underhanded politics our representatives practice! Your tax dollars at work right there my friend! >:(

Clark Custom S&W Model 41 Threaded Barrel for Silencerco Sparrow

Well, if you're doing clandestine poop that would be a plus. Can't go leaving brass lying around for evidence you know! <lmao> Great looking gun Drew! I'm in lust! -
Your gun has the adjustable sights, and that is a pretty complicated cut in the slide for those sights. A tritium front sight is no problem at all, but you're very limited on what's available to fit that rear sight cut. Kimber uses what's called the LPA type adjustable sights which is not the same cut as the more common Bomar type sights. Kimber sells the Meprolight sights; http://store.kimberamerica.com/Products/tabid/67/CategoryID/28/ProductID/1060/PageIndex/1/Default.aspx Here are some fixed sights to replace your adjustables with a couple of variations on the tritium inserts; http://shop.harrisoncustom.com/c/64/rear-sights-for-lpa-cut-springfield-adj-non-tritium-models Heinie also has a fixed rear night sight to replace your sight, and as Robo said, they are very good; http://www.heinie.com/product_info.php?cPath=9_26&products_id=40 Brownells has one that fits made by Kensight; http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=23175/Product/ADJUSTABLE-NIGHT-SIGHT and here are some Trijicons; http://www.fusionfirearms.com/servlet/the-280/Adjustable-Trijicon-Night-sight/Detail If you are going to find one load and stick with it I would recommend going with the fixed sights like the ones at Harrison Customs. Night sights aren't cheap and the fixed versions are a lot more durable. Once they are sighted in for your load they shouldn't ever need to be moved.

Theater management said that Holmes bought a ticket and went into the theater, and that he was wearing normal clothing and a backpack at that time. There is some confusion about what he did after that, but apparently there are only one or two people who claim someone let him in after receiving a phone call. I worked security in a local theater complex for 3 years, and cell phones light up all the time in a theater during a movie, and especially during a premier like this one. In a theater environment you almost have to be sitting right on top of someone to say for sure it was that person's phone going off. Knowing what I've learned about theaters and based on management's statement that Holmes purchased a ticket and went in the theater (with that red hair I'm sure he wasn't hard to remember) I don't believe there was any accomplice. Knowing the planning he put in leading up to this, I believe he had everything in place and accomplished it without any help. All it takes is something as small as a pebble to prop those doors open, and no one in the theater would have noticed it since it was dark outside. There is probably very little lighting around the back of the complex, and what lighting is present is usually focused on the parking areas, not the exit doors. It would have been very easy for Holmes to prop the door on his way out, gear up (which I'm sure he practiced before the incident) and re-enter the theater with no help from anyone else. With the light levels constantly changing in the theater and cell phones lighting up, it would be easy for someone to think they saw a person move to the exit to let him in. The other thing that stands out in my mind is that from what I've heard about Holmes' actions leading up to this, I don't think he's the type of person who would want to involve someone else in accomplishing his goal. Just my $.02 based on what I know and gut feeling. <dontknow>
