  1. YES! And we should attempt to get our sponsors to stop confusing the issue as well.
  2. Three Blind Mice from Mothers Brewing Co. in Springfield MO. A malty/bready smell, great toffee and caramel taste with a sweet malty finish. Surprisingly light and clean finish, no lingering sweetness, just a clean slate for the next swallow.
  3. The buffer should tap the bottom of the extension, not real hard but it should make contact. Buffers and extensions that are out of spec can leave too much travel and allow the carrier to strike the receiver at the extension threads, quarters in the extension are an expedient fix for that, I have 75 cents in my Matrix build.
  4. It appears from the face of the buffer that it is not contacting the carrier when the receivers are closed, shouldn't be roughed up that much. Could also be the solid buffer is bouncing on the back of the carrier? Odd that it shows wear in the center like that?
  5. Doc is right I should have checked the part number, not sure that is a 308 tube, says it in the link but not the description. https://www.dpmsinc.com/Standard-Length-Free-Float-Tube_p_308.html
  6. I see no reason that will not work.
  7. Kick arse fish! Used to get Sturgeon out of the Missouri when I was a kid, great tasting fish, never saw anything even approaching the size of that bad boy.
  8. Welcome from Iowa, via Missouri! There is no exact specs for what makes a gas block low profile, best to compare measurements with the handguard you want to use.
  9. Welcome from Iowa, via Missouri!
  10. Did you mean BA since it is a link to their barrel? Just checked Criterion, they use AR-10 on the main page for the category but title the page 308 AR. I'm sure this has something to do with search terms, more hits if AR-10 is on the page. Armalite used to be fairly aggressive asking for corrections but haven't heard of that for years now.
  11. Drill it! Go up a size or two at a time slow and easy. Highly doubt you ever need the warranty.
  12. Shoddy description title by BA, they say DPMS style in the description itself. Wish they would make a true AR-10 barrel for us Armalite fans.
  13. Canned Chameleon Pale Ale from a collaboration of Warped Roots/Toppling Goliath and HyVee, brewed in Verona, WI, maybe. This is considered the "pink" can version, looks light purple to me. A real mild fruity smell and a light fruity taste to start. Evolves into a hoppy pineapple/grapefruit taste, I like it to this point. Ends with a bitter, dry citrus taste, like chewing on an orange rind and this finish just stays in your mouth forever never finishing, not my thing.........hope they change it considerable for the next version!
  14. My dad does some work with clear epoxy on table tops, embedding objects and such. He uses a propane torch to get rid of the bubbles. Just passes the flame over the uncured epoxy real quick, never stops in one spot just repeated passes till the bubbles are gone.
  15. My 16 inch rifle gas ended up at .1005" before it would run everything. I use an adjustable block due to suppressor use.
  16. .308 win 16 inch rifle gas(AR15rifle), X-Caliber barrel ended up at .1005", runs everything there. Edit; .750" diameter at the gas block.
  17. Yep, toolndie posted it on his Instagram a while back. Tried it in Asheville along with a couple others in the same style. None were anything I would stock up on either, a little dank is ok but from start to finish is a bit much. These guys specialized in DANK! https://www.wickedweedbrewing.com/beer/lieutenant-dank/
  18. Lady at the store said it was exclusive to HyVee stores but their web site doesn't say that. Picked up a Chameleon from the Warped series, purple, interesting approach with the different colors using different hops. https://iowabeerblog.blogspot.com/2018/08/toppling-goliath-releases-new-beer.html
  19. Juiced Moose IPA from a collaboration of Warped Roots/Toppling Goliath, brewed in Verona, WI, maybe as some say it is Decorha Iowa. Hazy, hoppy, juicy goodness! Very little aroma, malty and bready. A very smooth mango up front blending to the pineapple grapefruit with the hops finishing in a moderate bitterness. Great balance, makes me want to take long and large swallows. I will be getting a few six packs to bring to the wasteland that is Van Buren.
  20. Finding the Lancer mags not so reliable in this rifle pistol. Ran 50 rounds of M80 ball today, Federal and some Austrian stuff. When using the lancer mags the bolt catch engages the carrier and not the bolt, when I cycle it by hand it grabs the bolt. Ran from high to low on the gas settings with no changes till it is choked down and doesn't cycle. With P-mags it grabs the bolt 100% unless the gas is choked way down. On occasion it will drop the Lancer mag out on the last round, I was going to swap the mag catch for an Armalite A model catch but with the bolt catch issue it looks like I will just stick to P-mags. Possibly I have an out of spec Lancer mag. Accuracy was nothing great but didn't expect much with M-80 ball and using an early PA 4x16 Mil Dot scope that I have never gotten good results from, has a VERY tight eye box, very tight eye relief, and a funky parallax adjustment. Hoping to pick up a more permanent optic on holiday sales coming up.

  22. I just had to strop it, shaving sharp, one little touch and the blood flows...........
  23. Tip The Cow Cocoa Espresso Milk Stout from Single Speed Brewing of Waterloo, Iowa. The description on the can mentions a chocolate covered espresso bean and they pretty much nailed that flavor. Very chocolaty up front then a nice smooth coffee flavor. Creamy goodness!
  24. Pretty common, I put a chunk of thick grip tape on the deflector and that seems to help a little.
