  1. Welcome from Iowa!
  2. A local shop here, BW Outfitters, builds and sells a bunch of 45 Raptor uppers, it recently became an eligible cartridge for deer hunting here in Iowa. It pretty much duplicates 460 S&W ballistics. They have their barrels made by X-Caliber. http://www.45raptor.com/45RAPTOR/
  3. Got another Esee fix, the RB3 from their Camp Lore series. It has a scary sharp 3 1/2 inch blade that is a beefy .125" inch thick. Differs from most Esee knives having a scandi grind. I much prefer the feel of the handle over their regular knives. This one is geared more for bush craft than a survival. The little bit of whittling I have done so far it impressed me, easy to control and again scary sharp. Made a $65 offer for it on ebay and scored, new in the box! I may have to have a Kydex sheath made since I don't wear a belt often.
  4. No, Knights Armament makes it. Right at the top of a Google search...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knight's_Armament_Company_SR-25

  6. I think I have a need for many more multiples of both platforms!
  7. They might just be getting back up to speed, ordered a receiver extension kit this morning, had 4 more in stock. Got a mag catch from them last month so I'm two for two in a month! edit; Got a notification that 18 inch barrels were in stock, things are starting to move!

  9. Make sure you clean the chamber well, chamber brush the crap out of it with the Hoppes then chamber mop till totally clean and dry. Synthetic motor oil is good, something like Slip2000 EWL is even better, you need a thicker lube than Hoppes.
  10. Did you clean the chamber real good before shooting? Needs lots of oil except in the chamber. Anything look odd on the fired cases when you get them out?
  11. LIL'HELPER Midwest Coast India Pale Ale from Mothers Brewing Co. in Springfield, MO. Really just an average IPA, a bit dank in finish, a little fruity up front in taste and aroma. The only somewhat local craft brew in over an hour drive in any direction from me! This area is a wasteland compared to Asheville! Gonna have to bring a few cases from home if I am going to have a nightly brew............

  13. They spec 1100 F, from 26 USC; "Permanent methods of attachment include full-fusion gas or electric steel-seam welding, high-temperature (1100°F) silver soldering, or blind pinning with the pin head welded over. " https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/atf-national-firearms-act-handbook-chapter-2/download
  14. Never used a Gen1 but they made the GenII for a reason.
  15. Got a link to it for 79.99? I still see $87.
  16. Try calling them, some have had success with that.

  18. Who made the handguard? I ran into this on a cheap handguard I had got this summer, sent it back for a refund. It was supposedly made in Ohio but it looked like Chinese junk. Can’t remember the brand but the nut looked very similar. EDIT; Acme Machine: https://www.acmemachine.com/products/ar-308-15-ultralight-keymod-gen-ii-free-float-handguard?variant=12380785672277

    Grilling

Y’all must be buying everything they grow, haven’t seen even a mention of Hatch peppers up here. ?

  21. You wont regret that a bit...... maybe an occasional twinge while you budget takes blow after blow building around the other two triggers
  22. Very solid foundation there. I always plug SLR adjustable blocks, run several with suppressors and they are solid kit. LaRue is having a hell of a good sale on their MBT trigger right now, it is highly regarded by many here.
  23. Welcome from Iowa, via Missouri! First I would recommend a matched receiver set, same manufacturer on both. Second, if using a carbine buffer system I would recommend using the Armalite system, extension, buffer, and spring. That will avoid the largest majority of issues that get brought up here. The Armalite buffer system works on both DPMS and Armalite patterns.
  24. Reloading section is jam packed with info, enjoy!
  25. I had a pin and weld flash hider removed and a QD for a suppressor put back with pin and weld with no issues, beyond the $40 it cost.
