  1. Cheap ammo? Seriously though I would more pick a component, primers, America needs primers!
  2. Coat hangar would be my go to but a dollar bill could get it done
  3. Last night a local news channel actually spent near five minutes on a gang shooting in Dallas, close to a thousand miles away, blended it with interviews calling for more gun control in Omaha. Now if you didn't pay close attention you would for sure think that all happened right there in your own home town, wonder how many other small local channels used that same story in the same way to push the narrative? Even a war pig saw it coming........
  4. Classic war time song with an artsy dystopian type video put to it.
  5. Hope you signed that art work somewhere!
  6. They kicked out my old man's unit in the early 60's because they weren't honest about what they were doing. That stuff is about scrubbed from the history books, like they were never there, I've got Dad's paperwork and some written history from the bigger spooks of the day on what went down but google won't say schit. Those Phils always seem to hold themselves at a certain level of respect in the world. I always found something my old man said about the place telling, keep in mind he traveled around a bit in those days, spent time in Vietnam right after the Philippines, he said the Philippines showed him just how cheap a life could really be. You never hear much much about them, like they run grey man style on the world scene.
  7. And exactly why they need people like you in those jobs, that "leadership" crust hates being questioned or called out but they will put up with it when the job gets done, as long as their idiocies don't go public, as long as they can garner some credit for "tolerating" your no bullschit methods. From the outside one thing about the Philippine theater of this war on terror that stood out was the opsec. It seemed the cards were held tighter there, very little seemed to come out about conditions on the ground and our intentions. They did the news when they made it, past tense, but you just didn't see the propaganda type reports in near the same volume as the other theaters. Why? Theater leadership? Host country differences? Lack of interest from US public? Why were things done in a more old school textbook manner there versus the more propagandized news coverage of the arab theaters? Is it just my imagination and there was no real difference? OPSEC of course but interested in a view of that subject from your perspective.
  8. I had to try one, been a good while but this one was about to pass by the best by date, tasted so damn good I don't have the words for it!
  9. Been done, laborer's union in St. Louis, the year before razor knives had been the leading cause of injury so they banned them. They had the guys walking around with safety scissors, my knife was on constant loan for the job, they could literally be fired for having a razor knife on the job. Seems like an unsustainable path................ as long as there is one injury a year something risks being banned from their job.
  10. and no dust control, you have to have dust control!
  11. Big variety in that part, here is a thread with measurements on several types;
  12. Somewhere here there is a thread with piles of measurements from BCG's, it's a sticky but I can never find it.

  16. Welcome from Iowa! These guys make gauges, they have been pretty quick with orders not in-stock in the past. Every type you could want, sometimes easier to call them. https://pacifictoolandgauge.com/540-headspace-gauges-saami-cip-wildcat
  17. Instant winter camo job when I open the case inside, and it will still run every time!
  18. Cause some of us live in one part of the year! I gotta say that cold weather performance was very surprising considering the thickness of the stuff. I found what seems to me to be the best application method to be closer to frog lube than an oil, it spreads out forever, warm the part a bit and it makes it easier. At the same time that 1,000+ rounds of 300 BO without cleaning had some squirts into the upper when it started slowing down and still ran in the cold, compacted carbon in the firing pin channel was the cause of the final stoppage. Could have cleaned the channel and kept going I think but the gun was spitting nasty black crap all over everything, people were whining about it getting on them.

  21. That Aero customer service isn't such a great place for info on large frame AR's is the first thing that came to mind. I don't know that spring but your buffer is right. You can slide the gas block out of the way to check alignment, there will be a shadow where the larger gas block hole sits over the port in the barrel. How familiar are you with the Superlative gas block as far as the settings go? I found it a pain with the two in one system, couldn't get the bleed off side to stop function on a 308 so that made it just a common restrictive gas block. Put the O ring back or get a good known quality spring set for the extractor, seems like Wilson Combat had some for sale lately.
  22. A few shorty builds recently, a bit of signess;
