  1. Which is why they provide us some of our favorite politicians, they see it as good cover, a clinton would never be found guilty there, even better cover than they had in Arkansas. By the 80's my family had been driven out of the state just because of corruption. My Uncle was a Nassau county cop, he had very clear lines not to cross and it wasn't the law that concerned him, with my step-Father being a cop here in small town Iowa the differences were obvious to me. Why is it so hard for people to see that where criminals have the most power in government is where the strictest gun laws exist and people live in the most violent environments, it's almost like the criminals are the real problem.........
  2. Picked the clump the next day and had the wife fry them up, three days from a nub to a pile of mushroom. So tasty I didn't think to get a picture of the final product till I couldn't eat anymore. Very mild woodsy flavor, touch sweet, and the texture was firm, I can see why vegetarians would use them as meat substitute.
  3. It's almost like you are saying our votes don't count for anything in this democracy of ours? They told us what they are doing, many still think it's fiction.
  4. Bastards jacked up their warranty deal now, only one place to send your watch for a battery that will not void the warranty............ and they sent mine back with a leak so it took another two months to get it back. Still love that watch. Seems like they gave me a Timex at RIP, green canvas like band that covered the face, always carried it in a pocket though........ wish I hadn't sold all that schit for hooker and blow money
  5. He does, don't turn your back on him and watch your feet when when your close....... I've been on my arse looking one in the eye, he remembered and Grandpa laughed his arse off.
  6. Welcome from Iowa!
  7. Attempting a hobby anyway, trying my hand at growing mushrooms.... not those mushrooms but few edible mushrooms you can't get in the store. Turns out most of the mushrooms with medicinal properties are primary wood decomposers, button and portabella grow on already composted material. So I ordered up a couple beginner level kits from a Wisconsin mushroom dealer...... that has to trigger an algorithm right? https://www.fieldforest.net/category/mixed-mushroom-variety-plug-spawn-kits https://www.fieldforest.net/product/wine-cap-garden-kit/garden-starter-kits So the wine cap beds were made with free wood chips and stump grindings from the town yard waste dump, picked up sections of logs there in early spring for the plug growing system. Two months in and the wine cap beds are giving off that real earthy mushroom aroma and turned solid white just under the surface, so far so good. Now the plugging the log system takes more time, no hints if they will take yet. Of course the first mushrooms I see are coming from a pot I threw together just to use up the last dozen plugs for oyster mushrooms, I didn't want to get another log and didn't have room for more holes. I layered the plugs in straw, in a hanging basket with holes drilled in it. They grow oyster's on straw but use a grain spawn to start it, apparently wood plugs works, schit grows fast, 24 hrs. between the pics; If they taste worth a schit I may have to scale it up, straw to food that fast is pretty cool.
  8. No, this Armalite recoil system is bulletproof, if you want to rule out spring and buffer weight issues it is the kit to use. You can get the same combination a few different ways, some searching here will show you what others did to get there but this kit is the short answer. I recommend you do lots of reading on the subject here before buying. https://www.armalite.com/SACItem.aspx?Item=AR10REKIT01&ReturnURL=/Armalite/Product-Category/AR10-Parts-Accessories/Lower-Receiver-Parts&Category=ac614400-ff09-4cdf-9d35-419a654e7201 You might find the kit with other vendors, many have luck when they call Armalite and express the need they have. But if you plan on doing a number of builds and want to tune the rifle to the load specifically then adjustable buffer wouldn't hurt a thing.
  9. I have a SDN-6 and have not been able to find one set-up to run both reliably in a 308AR, I've read many that have but I haven't. It always involves making a change in the recoil system for the load. I quit chasing the function thing, I have used a pile of 308 sub ammo trying different things but just can't see what advantage it has over my 300BO, same pill, same speed.
  10. The only time I have ever had an issue with gas in my eyes to the point I couldn't see clearly for a bit was shooting full auto in the service. I guess if you plan on lots of rapid fire strings with the rifle it might be worth a special charging handle but I worry more about the ergonomics of the latch than the little gas that comes back. You can use rtv silicone to create a seal around the CH. Here is the instructions...... on Reddit , videos of the process on gootube as well.
  11. That is an issue with premature extraction,, yanking on that rim before the brass has shrunk back in the chamber, nothing to do with the stiff extractor, that shows up on the feeding side. You could be overgassed or under assed(lack of weight in the system)
  12. They got me for five to get the bulk price last time LaRue had giveaway entries for each one, I didn't win but I won..........
  13. If it will stop functioning. I have not been able to bleed enough gas off on a 308 build to get there, 5.56 it does just like they say but 308 no way. Also pay attention to the path of the bleed off gas, it will remove finish or tear up a cover on a suppressor if close enough.
  14. Welcome from Iowa! Look up that "waterboarding" thread for just a few more details needed. Get more details on the buffers and springs, we have seen people order the correct spring but receive the wrong one, mislabeled. Weights, lengths, and coils counts are a must so the gurus here know exactly what they are looking at.
  15. Don't sell yourself short, you can ask questions and undoubtedly read so all the info you need is here somewhere. Sounds like you have a working example to run off of, get a close look then order up the parts.
  16. That's funny, I literally just watched that and popped over with the a copy of the link, gonna hit a @98Z5V and see it in the last post with reference to "another". I was thinking Tom made a video since it follows his explanation to larp boy on FULL30 so closely they could have used it as a script.
  17. With a compressed load, the max load was so close to filling the case I would just use the volume system, overfill the case and scrape it off flush and then crunch, in goes the bullet. Like shooting a laser, no holds needed for hunting ranges and about a 2 moa load..... for maybe a couple hundred rounds then it was all downhill, Interarms used a tough old Mauser action but I don't think I would pull the trigger on that load knowing what I know now about reloading
  18. There's an Interarms 25-06 out there epoxied together during my first bedding attempt, schit happens for sure.
  19. How much does that little kitty weigh? Curious how much mass it takes to get to that point.
  20. Don't forget the rivers, they worked fine for many a years. When I was on the road different places and made emergency get home plans I always felt like if I can get to the Mississippi then I can get to the house.
  21. That's what sucks, when hungry enough they will, my ancestors could choose not to fight, they could choose new to them lands without structured oppressors for a fresh go. I got no choice but keeping those range cards updated..... doubt the ones that would come for the cows even know what that means for them.
  22. 12.5 in. 308 AR with SDN6 can and mags full of MK319 mod 0 for ammo, red dot and a magnifier right now but moving to a 1x prism due to eyes and cutting weight. That's my grab and go when not much is known, the more info the more appropriate the kit. 130 gr. barrier blind pill from the 319 mod 0, EXPLOSIVE!
  23. Weird, some sort of cam set up that makes it very smooth and light for a double action revolver, up to the bang it's just stellar, easy to stage it up short for a more accurate shot, the whole reset thing is going to take some dry fire time before speed runs. There are a couple good clicks that make you think reset, first one is early so easier to ignore, second one is real close to full trigger extension but if you treat it like reset the gun won't fire, pull just a little soon and the cylinder rotates but no bang, you have to let the trigger all the way out then no issue. I've never been real big about super precise reset, always overshot a bit anyway, so it hasn't been a deal breaker for me.
  24. I don't see the rings in the picture but they don't always show what you see in person.
  25. Yep, through a series of events beyond my control I end up the owner of a Ruger LCR 38 +P. Now as often as I hear Bill Ruger saying "no man needs more than ten rounds" in my head it was my biological fathers pistol so I can't sell it. I remember offering to put together an AR pistol for him, he needed something for home defense on the farm that would also dispatch a coon if it turned out that was the noise. His buddy Sam a retired postal worker convinced him his son was a nut case wanting him to use military hardware and he recommended this pistol, I don't think it was ever shot. Now I'm finding it fits my pockets perfect, super light compared to my 938, a little sight paint and a Bantam grip and I may have a new EDC for the summer. I traded off an old S&W snubbie years back, this seems like a huge improvement.
