Welcome from Iowa, via Mississippi! Armalite used the eagle stamp to differentiate between factory built rifles and rifles built from stripped receivers.
-
+1 on the Mech Armor! I have several now, very functional, nice tight tolerances, and built like a tank, if the weapon fails you can beat someone with it.

Just heard some f**ked up information on this shooting. The fbi and doj need turned over and shook hard, saying they are part of the "justice" department is laughable at best. I had been thinking the issues were related to a few at the top but this stuff can't happen without many players Congress needs to do their job! This crap has to stop!

Yes, I have a bottle I use when doing barrel break-in. It came in a box lot of cleaning equipment and supplies, can't say I noticed a difference but don't have a chrono to test results. I can say it didn't hurt anything but I wouldn't spend any money on it. Read somewhere that hBN was the dry lube in it hence my using it for break in.

Here is the 308 silver tip, never heard of it before? https://www.gunbroker.com/item/758602315#carousel-modal-view-item And how is this even legal? -

At $8.25 a round shipped they should pay some taxes! -

I have a stash of Radway Green 7.62 from the 90's, good stuff. No issues with primer strikes except with a single stage Velocity trigger, usually fires the second tap. European NATO M80 does seem to generally have hard primers, not necessarily age related but could be poor storage. And welcome from Iowa, via Mississippi!

Honestly doesn't scare me that much. What I've seen is good ol'boys trading and selling with people they know or know of. Never seen it done in a manner I would consider irresponsible. Despite how screwed up society is the people I see at these small shows seem to be the good guys. I really wouldn't want it any other way, good people using good judgment will keep us safer than any government rule, regulation, or law.
-
See it all the time in several states. Private people rent a spot at the gun show to sell and trade their private firearms collections, no FFL involved. There are promotion companies that run big shows who prohibit these transactions at their shows, FFL's only, but the small local shows generally don't have these restrictions. Seen it in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Arkansas for sure. Could it be this is not legal, maybe but I have seen it regularly, it happens.

How about people being responsible for their own behavior? Yes big pharma misleads the masses but the masses need to learn to think about it! Our society has gotten into a groove of blaming all its problems on someone else, we need to get back to being responsible for our own bad decisions. Should big pharma pay a price, hell yes they should but that price needs to be us waking up and not buying the lies!

I wouldn't say low quality, just inexpensive. Chris used to sell Matrix marked receivers, I have both large and small frame sets and seen no issues. My Father bought a 300 BO upper and it has been trouble free. The rail I got from them was really nice. They did have some problems with the initial run of Live Free marked 308 weapons but they took care of it, customer service is top notch there. They have receiver sets on their site for $199, choice of six colors; https://www.livefreearmory.com/product/matrix-aerospace-m-762-receiver-set-15-key-mod-hand-guard-and-lower-parts-kit-cerakoted-fde/

With the dust covers in place during storage there is no pressure on the feedlips. Can't say I have heard of issues with P-mags except for a bad batch a few years back and Magpul happily took care of everyone that got them and contacted Magpul.
-
Have you looked at Lancer mags? They are very highly regarded around here. Pricy but top line stuff!
-
They also said they had made many of those exact barrels for a manufacturer and had no issues! The bullschit was deep with them!

True, an adjustable block is a waste if you have to run it wide open but you if you do need to open the port you need to run it open as 98 described. My methodology was to open the port up till what I knew was weak ammo functioned the rifle. Then I could adjust do9wn from there for the hotter match ammo I shoot most often, down some more when using a suppressor. This way I know I have a rifle that I can tune to anything I may need to run in it.

There was a spirited conversation with X-Caliber here about gas port sizing. I had gotten a 308 16 inch rifle length gas from them that was seriously undersized. They made some real bogus comments in the thread and got laughed off the board. It's an accurate barrel but you may have saved yourself a headache with that change. What kind of stock and tube are you looking for? We have a wanted section here you could post up and see if anyone has anything used they would want to sell. Nice shooting on that hog

It may be that it has not been placed on the roster yet? Government does work slowly. Interestingly I did see a regulation proposal to eliminate the "national television audience reach cap" This caps the size of the TV audience that can be reached by an entity at 39% of the TV viewers. Looks like the establishment is trying to further consolidate their propaganda machine..... https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=FCC-2018-0034-0001 -

Yep, that is a link to the earlier comment period, the ATF took comments before they submitted this current regulation change. Somewhere there is a place to comment on this latest rule wording but it is being very well hidden. I'm hoping some of the anti 2A will start putting it out to their people so we can find it. I have literally spent hours looking for information on where to comment but just keeping getting articles quoting the ag about the final comment stage....... I keep hoping Trump 3D chess, he knows that it will be tied up in court, the ag can assign an idiot to represent the government, the government loses and he can blame it on the court. Fingers crossed but I still keep range cards updated........... -

It's not done yet! This is the beginning of a court battle and the law is on our side. Most legal scholars think this regulation will be stopped with an injunction, drug out for years in court, then overturned. Help fight it here; https://secure.anedot.com/firearms-policy-foundation/bumpstock_legal_action?sc=bumpstock_legal Get this, a quote from our enemy confirms the legal standing of such a regulation; After the review was announced, Feinstein said, “current law does not allow the agency to ban or regulate bump-fire stocks” and said Congress needed to act. This is also just the beginning of another public comment period, good luck finding where to leave comments with a google search! I have yet to find a link that gives the actual instructions for commenting but have seen numerous references to the final 90 day comment period; https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/23/politics/trump-bump-stocks/index.html https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/03/23/doj-proposes-new-ban-bump-stocks-mimic-machine-guns/454638002/ https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/3/23/17057856/trump-bump-stocks-guns-florida-shooting http://wtvr.com/2018/03/23/trump-moves-closer-to-banning-bump-fire-stocks/ Here is a quote from the AG; "Since the day he took office, President Trump has had no higher priority than the safety of each and every American," Sessions said in a statement. "That is why today the Department of Justice is publishing for public comment a proposed rule-making that would define 'machinegun' to include bump stock-type devices under federal law—effectively banning them. After the senseless attack in Las Vegas, this proposed rule is a critical step in our effort to reduce the threat of gun violence that is in keeping with the Constitution and the laws passed by Congress. I look forward to working with the president's School Safety Commission to identify other ways to keep our country and our children safe, and I thank the President for his courageous leadership on this issue." This isn't over brothers, this is just the pivotal point in the battle, time to grit our teeth and and attack into the ambush! Here is the link for the federal registry, maybe someone smarter than me can find this proposed regulation here, and where to comment! https://www.federalregister.gov/ -
Are you sure of the gas block alignment. You can tell if it is correct by sliding it forward and looking for the shadow left by the larger gas block port around the barrel gas port. If it shows an even shadow around the port then you may need a larger port. Check the size while you have it off, there is a gas port size thread that lists lots of configurations and the port size that works for them. I have had to open up two different barrels so far.
