  1. I have no doubt there are plenty of people in this country that would be perfectly OK with that. Any time you give someone authority over you there is a risk of abuse.
  2. Never had the grip off my AR-10 so I can't be 100% sure it isn't a spare but then even if it is I would replace it. A replacement spring pack from Armalite is relatively inexpensive. https://www.armalite.com/product/ea6000-ar10-spring-replacement-kit/
  3. This would be an excellent starting point. I can't even bring a pocket knife into the building when I go to meet with a Superintendent of one of our National Parks, metal detectors and armed guards at all entrances. Why are they so much more important than our children! As far as trusting doctors.....I come from a different paradigm. Doctors cost me my health by not paying attention and taking the easy way out for them. 5 years on disability and the loss a very lucrative job but they were in the clear because the issue was listed on the sheet as a "simple complication", I paid the bill to fix what could be fixed. I do not trust doctors almost as much as I do not trust politicians.
  4. Someone did, they were ignored. problem is how much more authority do we want to give the government to "protect" us? What authority do we give the FBI to monitor people that drunk post or just post something stupid? Liberty is dangerous, we either accept these incidents as the heavy price we pay for Liberty or we give up true Liberty. There are precautions we can take to help stop some of these incidents but they won't stop them all. Not a good answer but then there are no foolproof answers for these issues.

    God damn I'm hungry now!
  6. Some good points from We Like Shooting on Instagram; welikeshooting"Such tragedy and happening so much more often. All of these deaths and they are on our hands. If our children are not safe, we are failing our society. We have laws in place to prevent this but they aren't working and our kids are still dying. " These are all things that were said about school fires. We didn't outlaw fire. We didn't require background checks for matches. What did we do? We educated. We modified infrastructure. We made changes. We affected change. Fire exits, fire extinguishers, maps, fire drills, fire alarms, sprinkler systems. You won't find schools in our country that don't have these things. It wasn't always so. We made these changes to make our kids safer. With 40% of school fires set intentionally, we didn't try to legislate mental health, we didn't add overly restrictive laws that affected the freedoms of Americans. Yet still, when was the last time a child died in a school fire? It doesn't happen anymore. So instead of going on and on about the black hole of mental health, about restrictions that affect American freedoms on items protected by the Bill of Rights, let's focus on improving the things we can change. Let's make our schools safer, let's educate our kids, teachers, staff and administrators. Let's make sure that medical supplies and training are available and required. Let's improve our school buildings to make them safer. Let's teach everyone how to respond, react and survive in active killer situations. There are things that we can do right now. There are ways we can make our kids safer right now. Fires don't kill our kids in schools anymore, let's make it the same for murderers.
  7. And now it's out that the FBI was aware of the coward.
  8. There is a hard fact that seems to get lost in the debate, Liberty is inherently dangerous.
  9. Lancer mags have good clearence. Here is a thread with measurements for lancer, regular magpul mag, and magpul M118 mags. Downside to the M118's is they only come in 25 round capacity, a little unwieldy for prone and bench work.
  10. Very nice! Looks like some of the antique tools I have, some of them took over a hundred years to get that appearance.
  11. How did you go about removing the original powder coat?
  12. Take a look at the MechArmor charging handle. Big and ambi.
  13. I have issues with my agency being strict. No firearms allowed, period. Knives must have 2 3/4 inch or less blades .........but there is no problem with having a machete so I keep an ESEE Junglas with me in the woods...... Gotta get one of those Beachin Tactical Baldric slings for it.
  14. Great fun when you can shoot with family! I find that's what counts with the kids, making hits equals having fun making for the desire to do it again! I try to teach them proper form but don't get anal on it, I figure some day they may just try some of my tips.

  18. I'll be finding out, Sig never sells junk, maybe weapons that don't have all the functions worked out yet but always good quality parts, bet it passes a drop test
  19. They are light on specs but I have been impressed with the Sig barrels I have, mine have the button inside the extension that backs up the extractor in case of major failure, not sure if this barrel has that or not. https://www.sigsauer.com/store/barrel-m400-5-56-nato-16-in.html
  20. Welcome! PSA has made a pretty big impact in large frame AR's over the last year or so. Good to see they are starting to take CS serious. Ya'll owe a big thanks to a few people around here for lots of beta testing work! A big thanks to PSA for all the cheap ammo they sell me, keep it up and I'll never get that 50 BMG bought!

  22. My sentiments as well........not one dollar, not one second!
  23. Sounding like the ammo he sold was legal but when they searched they found armor piercing ammo he was making. He is fubar if true. All the stories I have seen are being a little misleading on the exact ammo details. https://www.azcentral.com/story/opinion/op-ed/laurieroberts/2018/02/02/roberts-ammo-sellers-armor-piercing-bullets-found-las-vegas-shooters-hotel/303209002/
  24. Go with a 14.5 inch and pin the muzzle device for the suppressor; http://ballisticadvantage.com/ar-parts/ar-barrels/ar308?barrel_length=40
