I used one on a 16 inch rifle gas build with poor results suppressed or not. The bleed off settings will not let enough gas out to achieve the non cycle stage that they direct, you allow enough gas to bleed to stop function the back up to achieve function at minimum gas.. It does bleed some off but just can't handle all the gas needed for a 308. It works fine in the restricted mode but that ain't the big selling point of this gas block. Many cheaper gas blocks would work the same and have less parts or complexity. Should be able to search superlative here and locate the thread on it.

Check out some of the Surefire kits on ebay. I got one for $100 that has red,blue, yellow, infrared, and diffuser lenses. They are older incandescent military issue but still top quality. I have limited experience but Fulton Armory really impressed me with their BCG and the Criterion barrel they sell.

Did you sign up for an instock notification on the ArmaLite site? Generally they are not out for long.

I'm sure ArmaLite just got in the ballpark without spending a bunch on new parts, did the big stuff for the general appearance then went with what was on the shelves already. It was a specific upper just for that model, hence the retro charging handle. They sold spares for it in their clearence section for years.

No but many people that want a build as close to original as they can get grab these as a base then add original stuff as they can get it. The upper is the premium item with the pegasus marked lower close behind.

It was a throwback model made in the mid 2000's I think. Made in Geneseo Illinois.

No advantage to the function of the rifle. The advantages might be you shoot better with it but that is all personal preference. If you imagine yourself cracking skulls with buttstrokes from the rifle then a good A1 or A2 rifle stock would have a big advantage. If you might need adjustable, say younger shooters using the rifle or shooting in different seasons with different thicknesses of clothing on then the adjustable carbine stocks have the advantage.

Amen, two is one and one is none! Those of you using rechargeables, how long can they sit and still have a good charge? I like rechargable for the everyday light but went with the 123's in the glove box and go bag lights so I knew they would be good for years. Yep, Armalite ejector spring and the problem went away. The FA BCG I recently handled was a bit different, the measurements are in the Buffer parts thread recently rediscovered.

They keep offering them cheap and I might jump in, these gentlemen seem to have done most of the leg work required to get them running now!

Up or down isn't the key, they seem to have an uncanny knack of heading whichever way will make the pack out the hardest!

PA might be causing a lot of grief with lack of CS and a continuously evolving platform but you have to give them credit for bringing a bunch of people into the 308 AR world!

My Surefire Titan uses a rechargeable battery. I have Streamlights in my go bags and all the vehicle glove boxes but use 123's in them. They don't get regular use so I figure the ten year shelf life is worth the extra cost. No doubt if I had to regularly use a light like you then a rechargeable would be a must. That is getting into the realm of possibility. With the numbers available I still wonder what this will do to the secondary market after a few years.

Somewhere there is a thread with lots of different BCG measurements, I posted D. Wilson's NiB DPMS version, an ArmaLite, and a Fulton Armory. SS posted measurements as well. Can't remember what the thread was called though........
