I need a bolt catch for a Ruger SR762. Ruger will provide one free to an owner of the rifle, just need to give them a serial number. I have a Matrix receiver but no Ruger rifle. Ruger will not simply sell me one so working with a SR762 owner looks like my only option. If anyone can help shoot me a PM please.

Can you help a noob pick some parts? Please

Welcome from Iowa, via Pensacola! For a trigger I would suggest you look at the LaRue MBT-2. Top quality for half the money of a Geissele. No experience with 80%'s so I'll let others chime in there. -
Nice looking rifle with a group to match! Gotta love it when everything comes together!

We had a bitch with the same mix, just called her a cow dog. She got her jaw broke bad with a kick during a roundup, front half of the lower jaw was dangling. We had to finish with the cattle first so dad took her home quick and locked her in the barn. Wasn't a half hour later and there she was herding the cattle, she had busted through a weak spot in the bottom barn board and squeezed out. Nothing but dedication and heart in those dogs! Dad spent the money and got her jaw fixed, very unusual for him as he didn't even buy dog food. She earned every penny he spent on her.

Didn't try it, by the measurements there would have been a bit less play. It appeared to me that the differences were minor but consistent between the two with the tolerances of the 20 rounder being tighter all around. I'll be comparing the measurements and fit of all three when I get home next month, just arrived in sunny Florida this afternoon. 75, humid, and sunny in Pensacola, 15, cloudy and windy back home in Iowa..........

AMEN BROTHER!

I'd bite too if you tried to put a sweater on me in Tampa! Stupid people for sure, I'm betting the dog let it be known he was not happy well before biting.

Chrome for durability, stainless for accuracy, melonite/Nitron/QPQ best of both worlds.

Lancer customer service is shipping me a new magazine and a return label for the one I have. I just asked for a new follower but they want the old one back so they can look it over.

I recently picked up 400 rounds of Magtech 7.62x51 M80 ball ammo from Palmetto State Armory for 50 cents a round shipped to my door.Magtech 7.62x51mm 147gr FMJ M80 Ammunition 50rds - 762AThere were some bad reviews on this ammo indicating brass sticking in the chamber. I did run into this with a build I have using an X-caliber barrel, 4 stuck out of 50 rounds.I was very pleased to report that my P716 has eaten 100 rounds of this without issue. Sig has had this weapon back a few times and on one trip they polished the chamber, this may be why I am not seeing the problem. The ammo is giving me about 2 MOA, not bad considering it is using an Aimpoint PRO and Vortex 3x magnifier combined with fighting through my astigmatism. It feels good to finally be able to report something positive about my 716!

Spent some time trying to figure out why my Matrix build doesn't like the 10 round Lancer. Took the lower off and inserted the mag, noticed right away the slot the back of the follower runs in was not letting the catch swing past it. I trimmed a bit of plastic out of the way and filed off the metal, follower activated the catch then. Here is the twenty rounder, what the ten round looked like before I trimmed; Took them to the range but no love, twenty rounder works fine, ten rounder would not lock the bolt back. Back to the drawing board and what I should have done first thing, MEASURE! The follower in the twenty round mag is 2.946 inch while the ten round follower is 2.914. The distance from front to back inside is 2.982 inch in the 20 rounder and 2.986 inch in the 10. This gives the 10 round follower .072 inch of slop and the 20 round .036 inch of slop. When I put just a little pressure on the middle of the 10 round follower the catch falls down behind it; Doing the same thing on the 20 round follower does nothing; As you can see there isn't much holding the catch on the 20 but it seems to be enough to keep it reliably locking the bolt back. Now to email Lancer and see if they can get me a bit larger follower for the 10 rounder, if I hadn't cut and filed on it I could have just returned the damn thing. Broke a cardinal rule, always measure before cutting!

Post it in the For Sale section, bet you get rid of it.

I had always understood the Vltor tube to be the same length as the Armalite, not the DPMS, pretty sure that info is here somewhere? I may be reading it wrong though? Check this thread;
-
They are not interchangeable within the group of receiver extensions/buffers/springs but as a whole kit/unit either brand will work with your Aero. No mixing an Armalite buffer with a DPMS tube etc. You can't go wrong with the Armalite kit, except it is out of stock right now........... https://armalite.com/shop/ar-10-collapsing-buttstock-kit-black/

Welcome from Iowa! Having already figured out how to keep $hit from turning into poop I'm sure you will fit in here.

Nice axe! I've got a couple Granfors Bruk axes from the early 1900's. Can't beat that Swedish steel.
-
Since it runs fine in the 716 I think I'll keep it, but appreciate the offer;) I still have some investigating to do as to why it isn't working, might be fixable.

Got a Lancer L7 10 rounder for Christmas. Odd deal, it works fine in my 716 but will not hold the bolt open on my Matrix build after the last round, does fine when I pull the charging handle back. Odd part is the Matrix runs fine with the 20 round Lancers. Kinda bummed me out.........

I don't understand the purpose of bleeding off gas from the block? Why not just take what you need to run the action and leave the rest pushing the bullet?

Merry Christmas All!
