Amen on fewer laws, a smaller less powerful government! The problems police have now are directly related to our thirst as a nation for an all encompassing federal government. When the police cannot solve all our problems society gets angry with them instead of reflecting on what they themselves can do about their own problems.

We quit fighting the terrorists a long time ago. We have done nothing but retreat with only hellfire missile attacks and a few raids to appease the homefront. IF we would put our hearts into it as a nation these cockroaches would be banished back to the hellholes they come from. I'm not a huge Reagan fan but unleashing Bill Casey to handle the terrorist issue kept us safe for over a decade, he simply exterminated everyone that had any suspected link to terrorism. Yes assassination is against our self imposed rules but he used the method with great results. A few dozen well selected assassinations could go a long ways to solving our present problem.....or we could just make the middle east one big glass bowl. A Stalin quote comes to mind; "Death solves all problems - no man, no problem."

I've tried the Bushnell laser with different size arbors and a cartridge type laser. both gave me a 12-16 inch circle at 25 foot as I rotated them. With some effort I could use them to get close but sighting down the bore by eye is far easier.

anything Magpul is a good choice for a stock. Not sure how the barrels are these days. they had a pretty good rep for years but I don't see the 1 MOA guarantee on the website anymore.

I got to handle one of those Sig cans, very lightweight construction. The QD seemed to work well but the LGS commented that it tightens itself up, takes much more effort to remove it than what is used to put it on . He cranked it tight the first time and needed a strap wrench to get it off.

3,000 plus rounds an my AR-10 doesn't show wear like that. Definitely some issues for them to resolve with that rifle. Hope they treat you right.

My understanding of the rule is that you can use someone else's tools as they watch over your shoulder but they cannot do any of the work, I've read articles on "build parties". I would refrain from mentioning this stuff on social media if I were involved.
