  1. Welcome from Iowa, via North Carolina! Educate me, what are "accuwashers"?
  2. 3,000+ rounds through my AR-10 and I've never taken it completely apart, never found a good reason. So far the ejector and extractor springs are all I've replaced for wear. For a charging handle upgrade I would have to recommend the Mech Armor, you can get a combo deal with a great single stage trigger for a few bucks more than the handle alone; http://mechdefense.com/products/308ar-com-group-buy-trigger-sale https://forum.308ar.com/forum/83-mech-armor-defense-systems/ The FA question is a personal preference thing, they really shouldn't be used to jam the bolt closed when it doesn't want to close on its own but can be real handy if you want to ride the charging handle forward for a real quiet way to chamber a round. I've never seen a broken bolt stop but it is one of the parts I keep around just in case.
  3. 200-300 rounds should be a walk in the park. Unless QC has slipped a bunch I doubt fit should be an issue. Might need some extra lube till it lapps itself in but other than that you shouldn't need to worry about anything. 3-500 yards should be just fine. If you start getting past 800 then the velocity loss of the 16 incher might show up as instability of the bullet as it drops out of supersonic but that is dependent on the bullet you are using.

  5. I had the same issue with a d Wilson BCG, changed the ejector spring out with a stiffer Armalite spring and haven't seen the issue since, your mileage may vary.
  6. Went to the local cemetery where my grandpa's family is buried today. Makes me swell with pride to see all the bronze memorials to the vetrans, Civil war GAR, Spanish-American war, WWI, WWII, and the Korean War. Thankfully the families vets from the remaining wars are still with us. Great men provided us with a great country, God willing we can salvage some Liberty in their honor. Sua Sponte!

  8. I did that once, paid my share of a $36,000 surgery up front to save myself a few thousand dollars. The surgeon screwed up which led to more surgeries needed to fix what he broke. The total went to $130,000+ which my insurance and I had to pay for despite the deal we made up front The surgeon was supposed to be the "best in the nation" with many other surgeons travelling there to learn from him, this and the fact that a perforated bowel was listed as a possible complication on the form I signed before hand scared all the lawyers away from taking my case. These surgeries spanned the end of the year so I had to pay all the deductibles twice plus all the little crap the insurance company said was not covered. I couldn't work for years afterwards so my retirement and savings both evaporated. I did end up getting SS disability and about 30% of my college expenses paid but this took almost 4 years to happen and was a VERY frustrating process. SS disability said I was not disabled enough to get help and the Vocational rehab agency said I was too disabled for them to spend money on school. When a judge ruled I was due the disability then the rehab people had to send me to college by law. In the meantime I estimate the lawyers, rehab people, and bureaucrats bilked the taxpayers for a quarter million plus, one phd alone was paid $24,000 to "evaluate" me and write a report, said I would never work again after spending a total of 1/2 hour in my presence hearing me tell them I WILL work again one way or another. I would go to greater lengths to avoid hitting a squirrel crossing the road than I would for any of these people whose obligation was to help me.......... In the neck for all of them!
  9. My d. wilson nitrided bolt has not missed a beat since I replaced the ejector spring. I've got a nib bolt of his in a 5.56 and it has never had an issue, it does clean just a tad easier.
  10. Health insurance, providers, and government involvement are the problems. Simple statistics bear that out. Compare the rate of increase in the percentage of a family's income that goes to medical expenses with the percentage of families that have health insurance and you can see them go up together since the early 1950's. Government regulates the insurance companies to a certain profit margin based on their gross. They know if they started to profit 50% of the gross government would step in hard, most of the exchange providers are allowed a percent of the gross profit. The only way for them to make more money is for health care costs to increase so together the two industries have inflated the cost to all involved, except of course the free riders....... I remember the first stitches I got, the Dr. came out to the farm on a sunday, fixed me up and Grandma paid the bill with a six dozen eggs. that would be an illegal transaction under today's regulations.
  11. ATF has said everything postmarked before the July 13th will be dealt with under the old regulations. http://www.nfafa.org/atf41p.cfm
  12. I think either one should be fine if just do like me and keep the cleaning to a minimum!
  13. There has been some anti-gun people going on gun forums and trying to "expose" illegal activity. There are regulations with big grey areas when it comes to exporting weapon technology. Blueprints and such could be considered technology. It would be just like selling your Nightforce scope to someone overseas, a federal offense.
  14. The supposed downside to the nylon brushes is that they pick up and hold some grit, I'm not sure I buy in on that though. Hell the bronze brushes are worn out before anything can build up. Armalite is pretty clear on their recommendation not to use any plastic/ nylon brushes though.
  15. I use a windows 10 laptop in the evening and an iPhone during the day. Cookies get deleted regular, Sometimes I can switch back and forth without signing in and sometimes I have to sign in five times in ten minutes
  16. Peek...........

  17. I have to sign in two or three times in a row sometimes. Used to a once a week thing if that.
  18. The wife just called to tell me the $200 payment to the ATF cleared today, another small step forward. I hope to pay for an AAC Illusion next when I'm home for Memorial Day week. My gun budget will be sucked dry for the year but I'd like to get another SDN-6 in the works before the July rules change, gotta make up for lost time!
  19. Talk to Wayne lately?

Are you really going to keep dragging things from AR10t.com that you know obviously nothing about over to this forum JT?  I mean, you were not even INVOLVED with it.  Really?  I left AR10t.com over 2 years ago and here you are still whining and jumping up and down.  Grow up already.

  20. Just checking..............

Still sneaking around checking out girly photos when your wife's not looking?  Too bad you had to apologize.  Must be still holding a grudge which would explain all the trolling eh?

  21. Great looking rifle! I have no doubt it will shoot great, it's an ArmaLite!
  22. Almost sounds like this and the thread wanting magazine blueprints is a phishing attempt........convince us otherwise.
