  1. Sisco has run the non QD PEPR for some time without issue. Burris replaced my QD set twice for failures in the latch so I sold it the last time before using it . I would have to adjust the tension every few hundred rounds till the latches gave up. Nice thing is Burris always replaced them without question, they may have updated the system since then, couple years ago now.

Those headlights sure jumped right out at me!
  3. I love my ADM QD mounts. Never an issue returning to zero. One of the issues with standard nuts is you have to get them back to the exact torque setting or they will not be back to zero, this requires dragging my torque wrench around and even then they are usually off a bit. The ADM mounts go back with the same torque each time. I swap my scopes around from rifle to rifle a good bit, just keep track of the dope for each one and I'm right where I need to be. I did have issues with the P.E.P.R. QD mounts stretching the adjustment bolt and losing adjustment after some use.

  5. These guys have good blocks and other fixtures for a decent price. I have used the multi cal vise block set without issue; https://www.plastixrevolution.net/collections/combo-smith-tools
  6. http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/rifle-tools/bolt-tools/ejector-tools/ejector-removal-tool-prod23114.aspx Or just make one. I drilled a hole in a block of wood the size of the bolt then split it and drilled a hole for the ejector pin to be driven into. Sawed off a case head and used a clamp to force the ejector down with the case head.
  7. Welcome from Iowa!
  8. I need two of those for my 1-6.5's like yours. Could you PM me more info so I could have them make me two like yours? Might have to try the rail mounted level for my AR-10 as well.
  9. If you can find a set they do but the rear is windage only and the front sight elevation adjustment is a little unorthodox. Someday I'll review a set..... http://www.bobroengineering.com/browse/category/b.u.i.s.-iron-sights/
  10. Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing about the new rifles you'll be building. Wear'em out!
  11. Good show so far! "12 Monkeys' is starting to grow on me as well.
  12. Chris sells them in cerakote OD green and FDE. I bought an AR-15 set in FDE from him and the cerakote was well done.
  13. I did use their lpk. Some have made it happen without but sounds like pins are not standard and the bolt catch is different, seems like everyone was filing on an AR-10 B model catch to make one work. For the money I decided to go with their kit, just used a different trigger and grip. 98 pieced his together with stuff he had, I had an extra pivot pin in my kit which just happen to be the one he didn't have in his bin.
  14. Matrix gets a vote from me as well. Great price for a billet set and great customer service from Chris. Mine was a blem set but I can't see a blem. Upper/lower fit couldn't have been tighter and they have a detent under the rear pin to take up any slop should it ever be needed.
  15. For anyone Liberty minded working for the federal government is extremely stressful. I wish the DOT would have a weapons training program for us! DISCLAIMER: The above statement is my personal opinion and in no way reflects the policy of the DOT.
  16. The Winchester 180 gr. Powerpoints are the only ones that have left chunks on me but they are pretty blunt nosed. Still don't think it is worth the chance with others when there are so many other good options for expansive bullets without any exposed lead. Pretty sure there was a tech note on the Armalite site before the change over that recommended against soft points.
  17. You should be OK with the Federal Fusion load, very little exposed lead at the tip. It is claimed to be specifically designed for AR type rifles.
  18. I've run some of the 180 gr. Winchester in my ArmaLite, no malfunctions and acceptable accuracy but there were big chunks of lead torn off the soft point. I might consider it for hunting but never for anything my health and happiness depended on. There are lots of polymer tip hunting bullets available so I would look at those before spending anything on soft points.
  19. Small chunk of coat hanger wire will take up the extra space. You could also tap it for a set screw.
  20. I like the way SLR designed their adjustable block, simpler and more durable parts. http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=57

  22. I noticed a difference when I installed a heavy buffer from Slash.
  23. Now that is some good schit!
  24. He waltzed in so easily because nobody there had any testosterone in their system. You won't see that happen in a back country hillbilly bar! The socialist have worked hard for decades now convincing the sheeple that government will take care of them. This is what they get, but then sheeple love to be dealt the victim card.
