That is not a solid rule, lots of exceptions, lots of Armalite cuts that don't match Armalite and plenty of DPMS cuts that don't match other DPMS cuts. We always recommend sticking with the same manufacturer for the upper and lower, WAY fewer hassles.

Always wondered what all that inspection cleaning did to parts longevity, I know I used some rather harsh cleaning methods in order to get to the bar first.
