  1. That had always been true for me, they got me good this last time, no real choice as I was 10 hours from home when it went. Somehow my request for a quality water heater in a little smaller capacity than I presently had morphed when they talked to the wife, came home to a larger commercial heater with the btu's to keep up with three teenagers....... and a bill that reflected it. I've done the crawl space thing a few times in my youth, been "that guy" stripped to his underwear hosing off in the front yard, raw sewage removal trumps modesty!
  2. That just made the premium price for Geissele seem not so high, quality people, quality parts!
  3. Ask for a private screening, adds time to your day but if you are early it's a chance for a captive audience that has to politely listen to your polite opinions.
  4. but HUGE leverage is being applied through contracting officers, money talks, standard clauses that appeared innocuous a year ago are ominous now. When you read the standard FAR clauses that are in all government contracts you'll be amazed they get anyone to sign the schit, at least anyone intending on following all the rules.
  5. Sadly I have to agree. Knowing people around there I can't believe this is going over well with them, that's real cowboy country there. Some day I may have a BUNCH to say about government contracting, it's a very powerful tool.
  6. and we choose it again and again.
  7. PM an address, I actually ran across both inside and outside glass tubing cutters I knew I had, just need set screws in depth stops. Somebody that may use them needs these before I lose track of them again, you are the first person I ever heard of that had a use!
  8. Brownells has been selling gun parts and gunsmithing supplies since before anyone had heard AR. Made my first order from them in 1976 and I know it was at least second generation then. If you watch their clearance section you can find some amazing deals very regular, they even let me return a chromed BCG I bought on clearance that wouldn't headspace with the barrel I had. Another thing you rarely hear of is how much they do on all fronts for 2A rights, can't think of a family that has and has put more skin in that game.
  9. An Aero upper is by far the best match but are you meaning you want a left hand AR? If so then cancel that. Why 20 inch?
  10. I would have nothing but admiration for the man that lived without paying taxes, it would not be an easy existence but the freedom from "money" as we know it today may just have it's own reward.
  11. and a good life explained in words. I've spent a good bit of time looking at different religions/cultures and their mores. These sentiments are almost always tucked in there somewhere, very seldom see so much in so few few words though.
  12. I hope all my brothers here pay a hefty capital gains tax, even if I don't agree with legal theft.
  13. You gave a basically wrong answer, you show your lack of experience with the platform, hopefully nobody spends money for parts on your advice alone.

  15. That is not a solid rule, lots of exceptions, lots of Armalite cuts that don't match Armalite and plenty of DPMS cuts that don't match other DPMS cuts. We always recommend sticking with the same manufacturer for the upper and lower, WAY fewer hassles.
  16. Billions of peoples pension funds anyway, be curious to see what some of the managers did with their personal trades. Combine Trump syndrome with a market experiencing irrational exuberance from all the cheap money and that had to happen.
  17. PSA, always good marketing, always keeping the price down. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar-15-letsgo-15-stripped-lower-receiver-pre-order-ships-in-approximately-10-12-weeks.html?utm_medium=email&utm_source=daily_deals&utm_campaign=20211023&utm_content=10022021
  18. Always wondered what all that inspection cleaning did to parts longevity, I know I used some rather harsh cleaning methods in order to get to the bar first. That 25K round comment brings a memory into focus. Here I thought those marathon sessions at the range were all about training when it was really bean counters making their numbers work. The first trip I was clueless..........."we're going to the range, cool, gonna be an easy day"..............It takes a special person to turn shooting a pallet of ammo into a torture session for both firearm and person. Talk about building muscle memory
