I emailed SI and then went to check ebay but the item was removed from my purchase list with a note to contact ebay if I have problems and the seller doesn't carry it any longer.....makes me think it may have been a knock off <dontknow> . The packaging looks the same ......knew I should have ordered from Primary Arms instead....... Could be the "capsule pattern" makes it feel weaker, maybe just some fitting will do it, I tend to be a bit anal about these things..........

Just got the Strike Industries dust cover in FDE, and get this...used my ebay credit to buy it! A little flimsy and the fit isn't the best, needs some off around the top edge and the bottom hinge portion rubs until it is about half closed, I think the spring tension moves it around some. Can't say I'd recommend it but maybe it will break in.

Hate to derail the thread but you mention one of my pet peeves with cell phones, I miss slamming the phone down when I'm pissed. You could always tell someone slammed it on the old phones, now no matter how hard you hit the button it sounds the same.....they need to add a "slam" button to hang up with that makes a loud clatter before disconnection.

Hell of a story teller R2! I've passed through Beatrice many times, 2 1/2 hours from my home. I have stopped at the DQ on that very intersection, you can see the sign from 77. Kind of freaked me out when I read it. From here on out when I pass through there during my travels I'll be thinking of Micro...............and the Fallen Brother OP.

Yep, they charge the same for "AR 10" and AR 15 barrels, just $10 more for the extension on a 308AR. I still haven't asked if they mean an actual AR 10 or if it will be a DPMS based extension.

I'd like to think I have enough fundamentals to get there but your right, a nice 1.5 MOA at 200 yards is a more practical goal.......I'd rather spend my off time shooting than working up loads in the basement.....probably take me into retirement as I'm a bit anal on the reloading bench..........

I didn't get an answer to the port size question but it didn't seem like it was an odd request for them. I'm going to call later in the week and ask for a bit more detail. With the accuracy they seem to claim I'm starting to think I should go for a thousand yard rig......but then I don't have a good 1,000yd range anywhere near me so it might be a waste.....and a bunch more coin for the optics and all the rest that goes along with a rig like that. I'm sure there will be more rifles to come........

X-Caliber can do the rifle length gas on a 16 incher. $245 with the extension. 416R with the profile of my choice. I'll get one ordered as soon as the next expense voucher clears...........

Great minds think alike, I just finished shooting an email asking if they could do a rifle length gas system on a 16 inch barrel....... just because I read about all the gurus here wanting one! I'm not sure I have the knowledge to make something like this actually work but it does sound like a challenge, has anyone here actually built one like it?

I don't know how "shortly" it will be but looks like I made my decision on the barrel maker for the the Matrix Aerospace build.................. contour?fluting or no fluting? twist rate? hell, I'm not sure on the length yet......... :evil5: stupid fukn rule......... guess I did know better #*#$@&+#^**# should have just kept googling....
