  1. http://x-caliber.net/main/xcal-page.asp?p=1 I keep running into these guys on the search for a barrel. A search here came up blank. They started up in 2014. Has anyone heard of any negative issues with these guys? The few reviews I've found are good but incomplete..........
  2. happy B-day! July is a good month <thumbsup>
  3. Grandma used to make homemade marshmallows that she cut into squares, not to fit the cracker but just because that was the easiest way to cut them. In 1954 the round shape was introduced commercially to make production easier. Things seem to come full "circle' given enough time..........
  4. My brother-in-law has a shoe shop, said the UA boots were made of high tech materials like the clothing but isn't holding up to hard use.... But then he is having a hard time finding any brand in that category that holds up,said the usual quality brands are slipping.
  5. A happy and safe 4th to everyone!
  6. What is your idea of "mid-range"? I use a Bushnell that cost about $150 and is good to 800 yards on the right targets and maybe 600 on less reflective targets. It gives some dope for the angle and range based on some basic ballistic data you enter. You can spend $1,500 if you want more goodies...... http://www.amazon.com/Gunwerks-G7-BR2-Rangefinder/dp/B00J7QXE9C or over $4,000 if you really want all out; http://www.amazon.com/LRM-3500CI-Laser-Range-Finder/dp/B00601LDUE/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1435969653&sr=1-1&keywords=range+finders+for+hunting&refinements=p_36%3A1253559011 For under $20 and some walking you can use one of these; http://www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-200-ft-x-1-2-in-Fiberglass-Long-Tape-34-793/203736121?cm_mmc=Shopping%7cBase&gclid=CjwKEAjw5disBRCA5r7OjsK_-UgSJAC27JPgmCba9UWp6kFs3A8PxHRQfEnJC2ZWjo19N_wm3d5VtRoCP7nw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  7. I'd love to find more of that FN myself, it has been real accurate in my AR-10.
  8. I've got a 1-6x scope, it will cowitness with the BUIS's at 1x and starts to disappear much past 2x. I leave the front sight on my AR-10 with a 3x-10x scope and never see it. Unforgiven is right, the 4th is a great time to drop some coin on parts, have fun!
  9. Chris Riedeman of Riedeman Firearms delivers great product at lightning speed! Great communications as well, thanks Chris!
  10. They carry where my Mother and Wife go to church, from what I hear it isn't that unusual these days.
  11. Technically the black one is hers, She is taking her CC class end of the month..... I doubt she carries it much though so I'll have to keep it in shape with plenty of range trips. ::) No wise cracks about her wanting the "black one" either guys, she'll come after you! :909:
  12. Sig P226 MK25 Desert.
  13. Thank you Chris! Just got home with the set, looks sweet! I guess if I were real picky I could say it had a blemish but it looks real nice to me. I didn't realize it had that little gadget you adjust to put tension on the takedown pin lug, not that it needs it with the nice fit. The LPK is nice as well, Ergo grip was another surprise bonus. My LGS did the transfer for free as well, of course I did take a new Sig MK25 Desert off his hands........the wife wants my black one so I needed a replacement........ Off to the basement to see how this trigger in the LPK is gonna feel.....
  14. I keep reading about a hybrid chamber that works for both? Does this follow the same principle as the Wylde chamber for .223? I'd like to shoot both if possible
  15. I've been impressed at the production value for sure. I don't know my Viking history real well but they seem to keep it real. Looking forward to the next season!
  16. My Father would have kicked my arse if I stopped looking because it got dark. :bat: The only break we took before the deer was hanging was for one of us to go back to town, get more batteries, and call for more help. A gut shot was worse than a miss in his book......... Damn Outdoor channel schit...........
  17. My prayers go out for family and friends. I have only been around here for a short time but have read enough to know I'll be missing out on someone special that had lessons to teach.
  18. WOW! Got my tracking info already, this guy is FAST!
  19. Local Gun Shop In my home town, LBK? I'm to old to know all the acronyms, sorry........
  20. Give you $75 for it?
  21. Welcome from Iowa, nice avatar <thumbsup>
  22. Save some for me............then again,......never mind..........
  23. The basic history of why the 45 ACP was adopted is accurate there....salesman or not the 45 ACP is a very viable round to this day.
  24. A little history; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.45_ACP Yes, size is not the only factor in stopping power but when checking prices I've noticed that most of the smaller, faster, and magnum type rounds cost as much or more per round. I'm thinking FN makes a good chunk more per round on the 5.7 x 28 than Federal makes on a basic 45 ACP 230 grain ball round.
  25. Hard to reach overkill, I always want more, faster, better.................. I'm still using the RCBS Rockchucker kit I bought with my fur money in '77 or'78.
