There is a time and place for both. I would love to see everyone open carry responsibly though, if everyone had a gun on them then the crooks would be much less likely to give anyone a reason to draw it.

Fell through the ice checking traps when I was 14, was shaking uncontrollably by the time I got home an hour later, 1st dip. Took my swim test for Ranger batt. after we broke up an inch of ice, teeth were chattering so hard they excused us from reciting the creed, 2nd dip. Took my 3rd dip while serving in Germany, after a night of heavy drinking a young frauline invited me to jump through a hole in the ice with her, the warm up procedure made this my favorite dip by far! <hump>

There are two cousins that have a distinct left lean. They are anti-gun, pro gay marriage, and use Das Capital for a bible. They have abandoned their mother in a rest home here because "she is the cause of all their problems"................all the rest of the gals are married. The gals could also be separated into two other groups, happy and miserable.The two cousins may not be "taken" at the moment but life with them would hardly be worth ammo and a few mags...........

I was lifetime 45/1911 guy, nothing could convince me that a 9mm could be a good combat pistol. Then some Navy guys convinced me to try the MK25......I'm sold! I beat the crap out of that pistol, run 6 full mags as fast as I can acquire the target, turning the lube to smoke. I hardly ever clean it, maybe after 500 rounds if I'm bored. It continues to impress me with the reliability and above all,accuracy. No malfunctions with any round I feed it and I'm into the several thousands on the count. My 13 year old granddaughter was right on target after only a few rounds, like her it's a natural shooter. The 226 may be an "old" design but they seem to have got it right from the start. and that's my two cents.

I like the Otis system as well, compact, rugged, and inexpensive on the used market. On the rare occasion I have some serious scrubbing to do I have a one piece Dewey stainless and use a bore guide.

Could you give a more specific model? I bought a B model in 2011 that was listed as being made in 2011??? They have cut back on the variety but as far as I know they are still making B's, for now anyway......

+1 For my rifle under 300 yards there isn't enough difference between NATO ball ammo and other factory match ammo to worry about. Then there is the bonus of it being made to store for long periods, in the last 5 years my stash has earned more than my 401K and I don't pay any penalty for dipping into it! <thumbsup>
