The only centerfire bolt gun I own is a 30-06, a Winchester P17 to be exact. Most of the ammo I have for it has been bought at estate auctions for pennies on the dollar, even have a box of those accelerators.Always wondered what velocity they would get out of that 26 inch barrel......... My father swears by the 270 for deer and coyote but then he is always complaining about the lack of selection in bullet weights...............

I love my B model mags, built like a tank! That said if they were making the A models when I bought mine I would have went that route. Prices for the B mags are coming down but I wonder just how long they will be made, when production stops then the prices will climb back up for sure.

I'm sure there is a "proper" position but for me getting a consistent sight picture makes the real difference in accuracy. I worry more about finding an easily repeatable position. On one rifle putting my nose on the charging handle does this for me and on another the position of my cheek bone is the indicator. I've ended up with a healthy supply of scope mounts searching for what worked on each rifle. The sight picture will tell you what you need, here are a couple videos that explain it much better than I could;

I've got two Giessele triggers, SSA and SSA-E. hands down the best things I've spent money on for my AR's..... besides maybe ammo!

As seldom as possible! I usually break down and give them a good cleaning by 400 rounds or sooner if it starts having function or accuracy issues. I guess I do run a patch through each time before shooting but that isn't so much about cleaning as it is just making sure the bore is clear.

I pray she's OK........ My daughter ran away with a friend at 15. They made it from Iowa to Mobile Alabama. She was gone nearly two weeks, the MOST gut wrenching experience of my life! LEO's on both ends did a great job and got her back home safe, hope your wifes friend has the same result without too much pain.
