  1. Sad thing is my government makes me feel much more violated than all this talk about my back door...... <dontknow>
  2. I live just across the river up Hwy. 30 a bit. My dad has a farm in New Castle up in the NE corner, put a lot of lead in those hills!
  3. Guess I better not discuss my entry-proof back door then............
  4. That SSA-E rocks! <thumbsup>
  5. Done. Next thing they'll tell me I can't have hardened positions in my house.................
  6. Excuses for bad groups from my AR-15 target rifle build are dwindling away.......
  7. I just had the privileged of viewing the National Sporting Arms Museum at the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield Mo. I spent about three hours looking and think I'll go back for more tomorrow. I would highly recommend a visit if your in the area, well worth the time! www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servle...=NRAMuseumJul2013_RD Even with the historic firearms like the Lewis and Clark air rifle there was one that impressed me above the rest. In a display case at the front door were two crossed rifles, a reproduction flint lock musket and an ArmaLite AR-10! It was a basic AR-10A4 with green furniture, a detachable carry handle and front sight with a large Prism red dot sight mounted on the handle. Napoleon Bonaparte's engraved and gold inlaid 16 gauge flint lock was in good company!
  8. AMEN Brother!!!!!!!! We hear so much about "protecting" our rights when in reality we should be struggling to regain the rights that have been taken.
  9. I think I'll go get a Mossberg for the grandson!
  10. Signed, proud to see a fellow Iowan started it, they are not far from my home. Too bad he didn't just add SBR's to the list, can't get one in Iowa.........
  11. I gave up slam dancing 25 years ago but Guttermouth is now on my list! Good stuff, Punk Lives! :hethan:
  12. That picture says so much for so few words <thumbsup>
  13. Grandpa always said "The only good hippie is one with snot running out his nose!" <laughs> <lmao>
  14. I'll try my strap wrench but I can't get any type of mount to bridge between them, the nut is in the way.......Looks like a trip back to ArmaLite may be best.
  15. When you say "beat it" would a small brass hammer do it? Should I try to protect the nut from the blows with something? I hate the idea of beating on a new rifle but then it might feel good..............
  16. I've got an extra ArmaLite scope mount with me, I'll give that a go. ArmaLite thought they would need it back, I just need to call a different extension...........
  17. The upper came complete from ArmaLite. If I could find some directions on how this handguard was installed I may attempt some reverse engineering to fix it,if I have the tools, but nothing I'm finding says a word about how the rails are lined up. It was on sale but they didn't say a word about seconds or anything ???
  18. I'm assuming this is the standard nut. I read through the ArmaLite tech notes and watched a couple videos but they were no help...... :(
  19. Got my new ArmaLite upper and Spikes lower put together today. No real issues assembling the lower but when I shouldered the weapon for the first time I noticed the rails on the handguard and receiver do not line up :rant2: I don't have a vise, blocks, or anything else for tools that doesn't fit in my range bag. Is there an easy fix for this or am I sending it back to ArmaLite to line them up? <dontknow> Sorry about the poor pictures, couldn't get everything in focus.
  20. <thumbsup> <laughs> <lmao> and what's a river rock???? <lmao> <laughs> Thousands of rounds and my AR-10 has never missed a beat, from day 1! 8)
  21. What years was he there? Sounds like the same time-frame as my dad, 1963-64. Most everything you read says the U-2 was a CIA deal til late 1964, pisses dad off, he was strictly USAF. Wish he would write down what he knows.............
  22. Very Cool! Wonder if our fathers ever met? My dad was a photo interpreter with the USAF in the early 60's. He followed U-2's around the world to look at the pictures, he was in Vietnam, Philippines, and an air base in San Antonio with them, that I know of. Wasn't like there was a ton of U-2's around so they very well could have ate chow together. In the end of his tour he was looking at satellite stuff while stationed at Offutt Air base, real hush hush about the stuff to this day, just grumbles about the truth never being told. Their generation did some amazing things that have not been recognized, yet.................
  23. I'm from Denison Iowa about 75 miles south west of Ft Dodge, I used to crawl the streets there in my youth, what a town :hethan:
  24. "Safe Queen" relates to weapons???? I thought a "safe queen" was a neutered cross dresser <dontknow> Shoot'em if you got'em! <thumbsup>
