Spare parts for the Sig 716i
jtallen83 replied to scottfn308's topic in 308 AR - What You Need To Know
Could be me that brought @scottfn308 here with a link to a bunch of measurements on different BCG's to compare to, saw the question on SigTalk. I figured out the 716 piston gun bolt would work by checking headspace, then running it. The 12.5 inch piston gun barrels work great as DPMS based DI pistols, Sig used as much off the shelf for their piston as they could, doubt they would change that up on the DI but I'm sure they will not come off any info on compatibility beyond "use Sig parts". Check this thread for comparison measurements, third page I think; It would be interesting to see how the Sig stacks up with the others. -

Do you have access to a 308AR DPMS style BCG to compare? Sig ain't gonna say schit about any parts compatibility. They swear up and down their 716 piston gun bolt is proprietary when it is just a cosmetic variation on the DPMS. -

Welcome aboard, must be here from SigTalk? Without one in hand to compare I can't say for sure but I wouldn't be shocked if a standard DPMS carrier wouldn't work. The bolt from the 716 piston is a standard DPMS pattern, doubt they would change that. -
Bore Scopes-Teslong, Depstech etc.

A good thing, fibers left from the lapping process, gonna be a much easier break in cleaning for the Wilson. For over $600 you would think BSF could smooth up those edges a bit. -

Sometimes I have to stop reading @Lane 's posts in the middle cause my brain overheats trying to keep up. Always worth digesting them for those golden nuggets though -
Bought some fancy poly coated CCI 22's this morning, curious what they do in a suppressor. Flipped the box over to read any info they have and saw this; You have to love it!

Same reason I joined the 1/75th in the first place, the challenge, the adrenalin, THE RUSH! Only certain types of people jump out of perfectly good airplanes and they tend to like excitement, just some more extreme than others. That's been done a few times, anything for a Brother. When I first got to RIP there had been a battalion wide piss test. The whole shebang was trashed by the commander, if he followed through his battalion would not have been at strength, cocaine use was rampant, it was dirt cheap and in big chunky rocks. At least a couple guys went to jail over coke, they had the mounting tube in a jeep for a 50 stuffed full of coke when they came back from a Panama exercise. In my honest opinion drug use is overrated by BOTH sides of that coin.

Was there a required decibel level to be a JumpMaster? Pretty sure they had to have a bit of esp as well, you better be thinking correctly on that man's plane! I have no doubt some jumps have been made at different levels of intoxication, fight club rules I imagine, but never saw anything near loose enough for something like that to go unnoticed. Anything to do with a parachute was surrounded by mounds of meticulous minutia!

I don't know of these guys but Rainier tends to not sell junk. https://www.rainierarms.com/on-sale/filter/category2:shooting-innovations/?utm_source=bm23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Shooting+Innovations&utm_content=Happy+Mac+%26+Cheese+Day!+Saving+you+some+Cheddar!&utm_campaign=Happy+Mac+%26+Cheese+Day!+Saving+you+some+Cheddar!+&_bta_tid=1946142649358901352273338123045654830883261345564452704891128151697494701665296221252909500312834589374084353

Recently got one of those in the small platform and another Odin rail for a large frame, very interesting barrel nut set up. The O2 Lite is incredibly light!

Not sure if it flaked or galled from tight tolerances but had an ejector lock up on an Nib bolt once, installed an uncoated ejector and not a problem since. nitride seems to clean just as easy as Nib for me on those rare occasions I do that so the not a coating gives nitride the edge for keeping it simple, even expensive coatings can flake, no coating, no flake.

You guys just ship me all those + grips you're gonna throw out, I like them in the cold with gloves and haven't had them go gooey on me here in Iowa yet. Love the grip on those B5 but my short fingers tell me they are a bit wider as well and not the best fit for me regrettably. Isn't it awesome we can be picky now, never dawned on me the grip even needed improved in the 80's.

Pistol Brace Update, from 7 Jun 21
jtallen83 replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
I've got one in the pile that would do 11 3/32 to dead center otherwise 11 " is my number, checked three brands of uppers with most and get the same numbers. That's a mix of 7.62 and 308 marked barrels, that 11.25" number had me dragging out what I had and checking again. -

I need to get the rest of those 11 inch gas tubes ordered. -
What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2
jtallen83 replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
For $21 and change I had to join the party. Do these work to verify the gas block is lined up or at least not blocking the port? -

$3.95 each BUT the catch being you need a $500 minimum order. https://www.tungstensupershot.online/Tungsten_Alloy_Buffer_Weights_for_AR15/p5470590_18422995.aspx These guys are at the price level you mentioned, bought from them myself and was happy. https://pur-tungsten.com/product/tungsten-recoil-buffer-weights/

Try some Flitz on a chamber mop in a drill before you spend big bucks. Worked for me once and others have said the same. Some use a dremel on sharp edges around the feed ramp, I've gotten by with a set of swiss needle files.

New LR308 build with Aero enhanced M5
jtallen83 replied to 808chx.irradicator's topic in Member Builds
I tried one on a 16 inch rifle gas build and found the by pass portion of the block would not let enough gas by to properly set it up, could not open it to the point of not functioning. The restrictive side of the block worked fine like any other restrictive type block. If you are not going to run a suppressor then you don't really need the adjustable block. Fulton Armory has a real nice BCG with high pressure bolt for a good bit less than JP. -

Both my rifle and spare extractor have that notch although the used one is more pronounced. That factory spring set is a bitch getting in when new
