Suspended Disbelief DIPA Brewed by Dorchester Brewing Boston Mass. For Public Access Liquids and distributed by 12%. The aroma is that hoppy tropical fruit smell, makes my mouth water with just a whiff. The taste is deep and complex, lots of tropical fruit notes, pineapple, grapefruit, mandarin orange, even a bit of stone fruit ion there. Finishes with a touch of bitter citrus pith and a note of pine. Very well balanced, very easy to drink with a creamy mouthfeel and that oily resin coating left behind, LOTS of hops in here. I will buy more when I see it!

Sounds very interesting, don't know that I have had anything with those hops and have never heard of the cryo thing, I'll be watching for it!

Most certainly! They sell a kit, use all the components together and no problem, I will find a link for you to the kit https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10rekit01-6-position-receiver-extension-kit/

Keep in mind the BCG doesn’t actually hit the buffer but pushes it. Lighter BCG and buffer will lighten recoil but cost in reliability and requires use of an adjustable gas block. Heavier buffers will also lighten recoil some but cause a little more disturbance when going into battery. It’s all about balancing the system.

The Armalite kit is the gold standard of buffer systems. If you will shoot suppressed all the time then a heavier buffer may be worth it, if switching back and forth then an adjustable gas block may serve best. The Tubbs spring will work in several different configurations.

Columbian Necktie Gose soured on Mangoes with Lulo, Soursop, and Colombian lime zest Brewed by Dorchester Brewing Boston Mass. For Nightmare Brewing and distributed by 12%. Has a slight sour aroma with some hop and malty notes. Has a lime zest sour taste up front with a real clean mango following, no hint of malt or hops. Has a fizzy feel in the mouth with minimal flavor lingering. Another sour I am not a fan of but this one at least has a fresh taste, didn't dump it out anyway.

New and need help - 260 rem cycling problem
jtallen83 replied to Radioactive's topic in General Discussion
Details like measurements on depth of the buffer tube and buffer weight would be helpful, "appropriate" means different things to different makers. 20 rounds isn't much, sometimes it takes a good number to mate up the surfaces. That gas port sounds small but don't have any reference on a +2 system so can't be positive. -
I like shorter barrels on these big frame builds. They get heavy fast and a lighter front end makes them more maneuverable. I have some heavy barrel beasts but they are relegated to the bench and don't tend to get as much shooting as the shorter rifles.

Fantastic stuff, put over 1,000 rounds through a suppressed 300 BO before I had to clean. She was dirty but kept running till the firing pin channel was jammed full. Had it out below zero with zero issues, stays where you put it, a few drops on a patch spreads forever. Can't wait to see this stuff on the shelves.

Intergalactic Warrior IPA by Toppling Goliath Brewing of Dechora Iowa. Has a mild, sweet citrus aroma and looks thick like a hazy IPA. Maybe because I just tried a nasty sour beer but this one is delicious! Lots of citrus, ripe citrus and some pithy citrus. Also some has some tropical fruitiness, sweet and creamy. The description on the can touts a super bitterness but I don't get that, some bitter yes but really just enough to balance the fruity sweetness. Has a nice thick mouthfeel and leaves that resiny hop texture behind. Definitely in my top five favorite TG beers. I gotta have the wife get some more of this in case it is gone when I get home!

The Art of Mixing a Beer MOJITO, brewed by Dorchester Brewing Boston Mass. For Evil Twin Brewing. Don't recall ever having a Mojito so what the hell, giving this a try. The aroma had a sour smell. The taste is just fuk'n disgusting, nasty sour like a rotten white wine nearing vinegar. Took two sips and dumped it down the drain.

Magpul is putting out dedicated 300 BO 30 rounders now, I have several and they have worked flawlessly in three different pistols, Aero and Anderson lowers. Great fun using full mags to have dueling tree competitions, just gets a little pricey! https://www.magpul.com/products/pmag-30-ar-300-b-gen-m3-300-blk?ProductColor=VO343 Edit; Guess I should have scrolled up before posting

It isn't as light as I was thinking it would be but it is lighter than many. The fixtures at each end of the tube are very heavy for a plastic. Part of me wants to epoxy the tube to the ends for extra rigidity and the other wants to leave the back open for storage. A CDNN special; https://www.cdnnsports.com/ar15-a1-carbon-fiber-stock-sig-sauer.html?___SID=U

You will see several varieties and combinations of O-rings, plugs, dual spring, and more I'm not thinking of. That dual ring sure looks like a firm set up. I'm a big fan of the Armalite extraction spring kit, it's pretty stout. My factory AR-10 didn't show signs of needing replaced till near 3,000 rounds. If you find an easy way to get the thing put together let me know, put three sets together myself with blood drawn each time............ https://www.armalite.com/product/10403030-ar10-extractor-spring-set/

The Buffalo gun came about after a phone conversation with my youngest grandson to date, 8 years old and 100 MPH. He was telling me about a school field trip they took to see some Buffalo, he stated "You can't shoot a Buffalo can you Grandpa" so I explained there are places you can hunt a buffalo. Next he asks "Can you build me a gun to shoot buffalo?" Done deal, had to happen, has to happen! The Wilson Combat 14.7 inch 338 Federal fluted barrel is the heart and start of the build, pin and welded a modified SLR two chamber brake to get 16.1 inch overall length. It has Wilson's intermediate gas system, 13 3/16 inch gas tube, .073ish in. gas port in a .750 journal with an SLR non adjustable titanium gas block, I doubt the little weight savings is really noticeable but it was on sale for about the same price as a Geissele so I felt justified spending on fancy metal. Used Aero M5 receivers and a Wilson Combat 12 inch TRIM rail, not the best fitting Aero receivers I have gotten but perfectly capable of the job. Aero upper and lower parts kits, my go to Sig 716 bolt catch would have needed thinned a bit to work smoothly so I just went with the Aero part. The carrier is Toolcraft but due to headspace issues ended up using a Brownell's bolt, replaced the extractor springs with the Armalite kit to solve some extraction issues. Used a rifle length extension with a used factory Armalite spring and buffer to start. The stock is marked Sig but I am pretty sure these were made by Lancer, it is A1 length. Of course it has the obligatory LaRue MBT for a trigger. It's taking some patience to get it running 100%, first ten rounds no lock back, most didn't even move the bolt back. I noticed some ring marks on the brass from some rough areas in the chamber so did a little polishing with some green jewelers rouge on a chamber mop. Next trip out I had lock back on 8 of 10 rounds, except the case was left in the chamber every time, lift the rifle up a bit and it fell right out. Swapped the two spring Brownell's extractor springs for the Armalite plug, spring, and a ring extractor spring kit. Next twenty rounds were better, no cases left in the chamber, still only getting lock back about half the time when loading a single round, picked up the next round every time I asked it to. Polished just a little bit more on the chamber and swapped the buffer and spring to an Aero rifle buffer and a Tubbs flatwire spring, odd the Aero buffer is about 1/8 inch longer than the Armalite buffer is, 5 3/16" vs. 5 and a real strong 1/4 inch. Ran five rounds and got lock back 4 times. Swapped back to the Armalite set and only got one lockback in 5 rounds, the Armalite spring has nearly 4,000 rounds on it so maybe it's shot. Swapped back to the flat wire spring and got ten lockbacks in a row. I am going to leave it alone for a bit, used 185's up to this point but plan on getting some 200 grain stuff next so the little extra oomph may help a bit as well. I will let the grandson continue with shooting the rifle so he can get in on any further tweaks if needed. It shoots so soft I may see if he wants to shoot it next time he is here. About the same time I start collecting a pension my Grandson will turn 16 so I hope I can introduce him to reloading then. Hopefully he still wants to whack a buffalo, always wanted to try a Bison ribeye. Here is the last twenty rounds on a 12 inch steel plate at 100 yds. Anxious to see what kind of groups it will do when the Vortex 1-8 gets put on it and accuracy becomes the focus.
