  1. I'm still willing to bet that he's undergassed for some reason. Block alignment, gas port issue, tube placement, loose gas key, bad gas rings (unlikely but always worth a check). If he was moving too fast, it would be acting the same as it does with a suppressor.....ie....trying to jam a 2nd round down the pipe before it can eject the 1st one. That would sound like a more "classic" cyclic rate issue. Sounds like the carrier doesn't have enough Hmmmph. Which is strange for a carbine length in the first place.
  2. The man's got a point Bubba. $7-8 per round? You're shopping in the wrong places my man. Now......$5-6 is more like it. Maybe a little less if we "step down" to Hornady, from Federal or Black HIlls.
  3. That's lookin good lefty. I'm a fan of those Troy rails. They're pretty light-weight. Got one of those on one of my 10 carbine's. They're nice rails.
  4. Awww. That's ok. I've only been running on one kidney for about 25 years. You'll be alright.

  6. Hell, that's a deal at twice the price Bubba. You should get one for each hand. <laughs> All kiddin aside......I still say go for it.
  7. You're probably right. I haven't broken in to the reloading realm yet. But I've been thinking about it a lot over the last couple of months.
  8. I'm over in PG County....you know....the hood. My range is a private range. Membership isn't exactly cheap. But our options are kinda limited in this socialist state.
  9. Well? Just mortgage the house instead. Probably easier to do on the open market than young boys.
  10. You of all people are covered brother. You don't have to worry about a thing. Except................the beer of course. <laughs>
  11. Oh....it was steam powered.....by the way.
  12. Funny. I love that old stuff. When I was a kid, my old man was a partner in a dry cleaning place here in DC. Actually, it was the oldest dry cleaners in town. A place called Besson's. They used to do the cleaning for everything from embassies, to the white house (first lady kind of stuff). It was established in the 1890's. And the business was run out of the same building on 14th street (a true S-hole when I was young) from the start. Amazing that the "well to do" would still have their stuff brought to that place. Even though it was in the "bad" section of town. Anybody that knew the northwest section of DC in those days would agree. Even being so close to the White House.....it was still a shitty part of town. So, when I was a kid (working for slave labor as family does), I spent many an hours in the old dry cleaning "plant" that had the old original machinery just like this stuff. Flat leather belts that turned heavy equipment. What's not to like? This kind of stuff is very cool....on a historical kind of level. Especially since I had the opportunity to work around it (in the 70's mind you....that shows how the stuff kept working). Just something our next generation won't understand. They may appreciate it (as my son does)....but they won't get the first person experience of dealing with that kind of industrial equipment.
  13. uuhhhhhhhhh........yeah! I believe you. cough cough (bull-s h i t)
  14. I got my eye on you mister.
  15. A little stick, I take it? <lmao>
  16. Alright you Rat bastards who's F@cking with my tag line again. And just how am I an Alcohol pusher? You make it sound as if it's a problem when there is none. I drink....get drunk.....then fall down just like any red-blooded American would. <lmao>
  17. First.....a little financial recovery period. Then, some glass for the top of this bad boy, and possibly (I said POSSIBLY ladies) an AAC Titan for it's snout. As far as the adoption and addition to said will....you all gotta deal with my son and daughter if (when) I clutch my chest and drop. And they know of every piece that I have. So......good luck with that. <laughs>
  18. I'm with you. I wouldn't put a DMPS upper on that TM lower. No offense to any of my brethren who are running DPMS uppers. <laughs>
  19. MGD? Now you're speaking my Language brother.
  20. Hey! Hey! Hey! Don't go scaring the FNG off. At least let him pay his dues first. For beer at the "club" meetings of course. <laughs>
  21. Sounds like you've got the right ideas my man. If you wanna go to 1k......definitely glass will be involved......at least with my eyes these days. <laughs>
  22. OK. I put the clothes back on for a couple minutes so you guys wouldn't feel all ooogy. I couldn't help myself, and wanted to get the look of glass on top of this thing. So I whipped out (scuse me while I whip this out) the NF NXS from my SASS. Just to see what she'll look like eventually. Can you say tent pitching material?
  23. <lmao> <thumbsup>
