  1. Noveske makes outstanding barrels. They cost a little more, but they're nothing but quality. They're what I've used for most of my builds. With better ammo, you'll be able to tighten that group up. But out of the box, 2 MOA will still drop a target.
  2. I think that we all can come up with an easy solution for that.
  3. Just because you're done buying doesn't mean that you can't come out play big boy.
  4. Yeah, I haven't posted a whole lot myself, mainly cause I haven't been doing any major type of builds lately. After the last MK12 build, I'm mainly down to waiting to upgrade glass on some rifles. And that's where my glass snobbery comes down to me moving at glacier-type speeds. The cost of some of the optics, as we all know, can kick you right in the nad section of your wallet. Just as an example. I need new glass for the following: MRAD - Possibly looking at a Steiner T6 series / Nightforce NXS or NX8 series AR31 - Probably looking at the same options AR10 Carbine (one of them) - Need to trade up from the old ACOG. Haven't truly decided on a new make yet. DSA OSW - Don't like the Sig glass currently riding on this thing. POF P308 - Being another short barrel, bare minimum is another EOTech setup like on the MK18. So that's just 5 off the top of my head. And being that I understand that it's a high quality problem to be having. It's also a pricey one to resolve. And over the past year, I've been trying to pay off other major stuff on the house. That waterproofing on my basement alone was just about 40 K. So a lot of other things have taken a back seat. But, that being said, I've knocked about half off of that bill already, so maybe by mid-year I'll be able to start reallocating funding back into the glass acquisition division of R2 Enterprises. Besides getting back into building other rifles. After all, I've still got a Black Rain 10 matched receiver set to get around to building, and another couple small frame receiver sets to work on. As you were ladies.
  5. Another great find Rene. I didn't realize this either. Duly noted.
  6. OK. That actually made me laugh out loud to myself.
  7. You would think that. But then, you would be thinking logically. And that word rarely goes along with our government. I've waited anywhere between 6 months and a year on the ATF in the past. Not that I had the military background. But just as a civvy, I thought it was ridiculous then. But, whatcha gonna do right? Hopefully, with Kash Patel acting as the temporary director of the ATF on top of being the FBI director, he'll start dismantling some of the nonsensical bull$hit within the ATF.
  8. This is great news for the gun world either way. This will be interesting to see what he does.
  9. Gotta love these old training cartoons.
  10. Well, we can only hope that she, and the other DJT nominees are playing the same long game that the scumbag leftist did during the Biden confirmations. That is, saying whatever that they need to, to get past this portion and then to get the vote from the senate. Once in, it's back to doing what the boss wants them to do. Because we know at this point, Trump isn't putting up with any bull$hit this time. People don't perform, and they'll be shown the door.
  11. Yes and Yes. Also a Yes. How did you guess?

    Pasties

Home made hot pockets. But they look way better. Plus, I know how you can cook.
  13. Yep. Back to basics type of thing. It would also be nice to do some rando land nav stuff too.
  14. Of course that would be the end goal. But it would be a little difficult for us east coasters though because of the distance from here to there. We'd probably have to gather at an "SDTF" East rally point first. Assess, then move out. But then there's the whole friends/family contingent. It's not easy for everybody just to pull up stakes and roll out at any given moment. Then the whole logistics of moving a quasi mid to large group of people in a column in any specific direction. Where it was fun creating and writing the multiple number of "308 AR Teams" stories. They were completely fictitious stories. They were always based on the group of us acting/moving as a unit, whether offensively or defensively. Where in reality, in an Oh $hit scenario, all of us would have others that we would have to take care of/gather up before any major change could happen. Like I said, logistics are a bitch. Not impossible or insurmountable, but just difficult. Then.......there's fuel needed for all of the vehicles. HA
  15. Did somebody say.................................................................
  16. That's why I use QD mounts on my optics. Something fails, just pop it off and flip up the BUIS. And I've gone to using Yankee Hill spring loaded back-ups. But they don't make a 45 degree like you've been looking for.
  17. Oh my GOD! Keep us in your hearts fellas. We're experiencing blizzard conditions here in the DC area tonight. I think they're already talking about canceling schools on Monday because of the fallout. Milk and toilet paper for everybody STAT! If you know anything about the DC area.....then you know.
  18. Same to you brother. To you and the family.
  19. Nice looking unit. Purpose built. I especially like the can cover. I keep meaning to get a couple of those.
  20. Oh my.............................................
  21. I'm guessing that it's just standard 115 grain 9mm? Otherwise I would've guessed that it was one of @MikedaddyH home brew loads. Since the pistol fired after sliding the pins back into place, I would assume that this was an ammo failure. Luckily it didn't bang your hand up with the casing blowing out like that.
  22. True. But then again, we all know how I feel about cleaning weapons.
  23. Yeah, I picked up on that.
  24. Mildly interested. But not enough to consider getting one. Just interested enough to find out through others whether or not Palmetto gets it right. I've already personally done the whole piston vs. DI comparison thing with my POF P308 pitted against any of my standard AR-10's. The whole piston thing never really did anything for me. I get the whole theory behind it, but it just never really lit me up. Just my opinion.
