For sure, pray it's something benign.

I decided to help out my old eyes, and upgrade the original G.I. sights to 3-dots. What a difference especially in low light situations. Local smith did it for me. All Colt parts. Front post took one week to get, rear sight took four months! Colt's problems are far reaching in so many areas. Original sights on the right, new 3-dots on the two left pics.

Wellll, maybe, maybe not. For years I've been hearing the stories about the Korean Garands being returned, (more) Greek Garands being returned, and now Phillipine Garands being returned. I'll believe it when I see it. It'd be great. BTW, nice BM59. Need a range report!!!

Beautiful Engraving Metal engravings can be so precious to us when they are expressive and meaningful. I believe that the engraving shown below is especially poignant. I believe you will appreciate it.

.Nice looking rig. Give it a few hundred rounds to break in, and try some Federal Gold Medal Match 168 or 175 BTHPs.

Good for you! I got a CYA iwb holster for mine. Fits beautifully. Took it out for a second outing today. Great accuracy. Trigger takes some getting used to, as the take-up is very short and light, but the final trigger pull to get it to break feels like 8lbs! I hope this loosens up with time.

Are we talking about the same thing?

Got my new M&P 45ACP Shield. This is one nice piece of equipment! The feel in the hand is just right, very slim and balanced. It is only a hair bigger than my 9mm Shield. The texture is very grippy but it won't abrade your skin. Like all new M&Ps, it is very stiff and will need a few hundred rounds to break in and loosen up. Took it to the range for some break in. The 230 grain ball Winchester White Box was flawless feeding and function. My 200 grain LSWC with 7.4 grains AA#5 was very good. These had two feeding hang ups, both on the last round in the magazine. This is a shooter! It's a bit snappier than the 9mm, but for a compact, single-stack 45ACP it is very controllable. A little more practice and familiarity and this will become my carry gun. Hits point of aim from 7-10 yds. First three rounds out of each mag just obliterated the "X" in most targets. I was flinching a bit, but that's okay, I'll get used to it. In the second pic the 45ACP is on the left. In the third pic the 9mm Shield is underneath, you can barely see the smaller trigger guard. Target pic is just a typical one, some targets were a lot better, some were worse. All in all, S&W hit a home run with this one. The current deals on it make it a steal.

Just another peace-loving mooselimb. BTW, there was a mass shooting at a black church in Birmingham, AL on Saturday night at a fair for Easter Services, 5 killed, an infant seriously wounded (some reports vary). You guys hear a word about it? No? Reports are it was black on black shooting. Nothing to see here. Move along. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/04/16/4-shot-including-infant-at-alabama-churchs-spring-carnival.html

One year follow up: Still love the Mega MATEN. Real quality piece of equipment. I'm a hopeless experimenter, until I find the right combination of things, and then I'll stick with that combo forever. Tried a couple different muzzle devices, but came back to the Triad as the best overall compromise. Some muzzle devices seem to affect accuracy, I can't understand why if they're made properly. Swapped out the lpk OEM trigger for the Rough Justice trigger. Night and day. RJ is almost too sensitive for someone accustomed to 2-stage triggers, but I like the RJ. Rifle accuracy is very good, better than I am. I stick with my Knight's Armament iron sights. Once in a while I put on a Leupold 3x9 just for the fun of it but always remove it (Bobro quick-release base is the cat's meow). Irons are more challenging. I have a Hardened Arms phosphate BCG. It ejected the cases somewhat weakly to ~1:30, but it functioned flawlessly. The big problem was, it developed extensive pitting around the firing pin hole after ~1000 rounds. I called HA about it, and they sent me a complete, brand new BCG. That's customer service! I tried it out this weekend, flawless function, and the ejector is very powerful, consistently tossing the cases out 6-7 feet at 3:30. Excellent. The new bolt has the one-piece gas ring, not three gas rings. Interesting. The most important thing I learned over the last year is not necessarily about the rifle, but about my reloads. The biggest disappointment has been the Nosler bullets, both 168 and 175 BTHP (in fairness, I haven't loaded up their 155s yet). They're just not very consistent. I don't know if it's their shape, or QC, but one batch will be pretty good, the next will be not worth a darn. This is both overruns and "blems". I've got 1000s of them, and once they're done I'll be sticking with Sierras. I'll post more details in the reloading forum.

I've often wondered about this. EVERYONE missed the boat. Should have made the lowers compatable with the existing M14 magazines. Already mil-spec, proven design and readily available, Would have saved everyone a lot of trouble. -
What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

45 Shield arrived. It's maybe a whisker bigger than the 9mm Shield. 45 and 9mm stacked in the second pic. The 45 is on the left in the side by side pic. I like my new arrival. Can't wait to get it to the range. -

Good deal. Let's hope S&W honor their $75 rebate. Some companies (RCBS) never do. -
Teheran, preferably when their murderous, sociopath "clergy" are in a meeting.
-
I dunno. Wouldn't want to be downrange of that even if it was malfunctioning every 20-30 rounds.

Just got 500 new 45acp Win brass for $67 from Midway. Interesting, their website has 500 once-fired 45acp brass for $67 as well. Dunno how they do that? Guess there's a sucker born every minute. -
Very, very rarely does a case split like that. Usually it's a worn/old case that splits like that. You said it is 1x-LC, and it's NM, you can see the case checkering around the circumference of the body about 1/4 of the way up. I suspect it is an old case, possibly weathered/exposed for a long time before being picked up for recycling. If this is happening a lot to your cases, you've got a batch of bad cases.

There's a rule about this sort of thing. You ask, you gotta buy and try it out. It's in the rules...
