My first suggestion is to go through the 308AR website and the 308AR forum. Go through the archives and you will get your questions answered and learn a fair amount about all of them and which direction to take your build. You will know a lot more that way then having one of us try to answer a really involved question in ten sentences or less.
Welcome John, and thank you for your service. Speaking of Galil, CDNN firearms has a couple on their website, but won’t publish prices! An interesting family of firearms.
No palm trees, just frostbite. No poisionous snakes, just deer ticks with Lyme disease. Winters almost over though, the snow should be gone by May 1. Palm tree cuts don’t sound too bad right now.

Nice pup. His eyes look like there is some intelligence there as well. We are running an old age home for Shih Tzus' 14, 14, and 17, two which we inherited from my mother in law passing away. Had 4 but one died from anesthesia during back surgery. Told the wife I am getting a Newfoundland when they are gone. Used to own Sheep Dogs.
An expelled kid that age doesn't know what the hell he is.....except angry. Karl Marx with a pail on his head? A little early to be putting labels on him.
Exactly my plan. Put my slather on this morning, garlic, my special rub and a little olive oil.. Bring it to room temp this afternoon, sear both sides at 750F, then offset heat to medium rare and let set ten minutes.
