  1. No doubt.
  2. In 45/70 no less. https://www.cdnnsports.com/colt-1877-bulldog-gatling-gun-hispeed-45-70.html?___SID=U
  3. Burris makes good stuff, and 3X for that will be just about perfect.
  4. Arsenal milled reciever, imported during ban so no muzzle break and "sporting stock" replaced. 7.62 x 39. hits what you aim at with no holdover at 100 yards. Softball size groups at 100 yards.
  5. Couldn't agree more! I like bears and I respect them.Very smart animals. So strong you cannot believe! I saw a three foot diameter hole in a cabin outside of West Yellowstone that a Grizzly tore just to get in. A friend of mine helped trap him. He now sits in an exhibit in the basement of the Earthquake Lake Interpretive Center. A reddish, mean looking bugger.
  6. on the fire. As far as the thread, same thing that happens to most of them, they get hijacked! Here though, most of them end up circling around and coming back. M316 Mod 0 sounds good, I need to find out if I can duplicate it without going nuts on chamber pressure.
  7. 7.62x39. I can feed it cheap, and I can get a rifle to shoot it cheap. Just don't ask it to do what it wasn't designed to.
  8. Duluth is in the running for F35's as well. They got aced out of F22's when they cut production back. I think they should resume production myself. Attached picture is F16's contrails above my house while they practice ACM.
  9. A guy a few years ago was bow hunting west of here. A momma bear and a cub were right below him. He made a sound to scare them off, and the cub climbed up the tree, over him and kept on going. Then the momma came up mad! He poked at her with his arrow, ended up getting bit on the leg, she finally got down he got down, and hobbled off. The DNR chose not to hunt down the momma as she was just protecting her cub. A good time to post a picture of my friend George, may he rest in peace.
  10. You all know this was eventually coming, so forgive me, I had to do it.
  11. I don't count yearly bear sightings on my fingers. I need a calculator.
  12. Big difference. This one is a grizzly.
  13. Just plowed 6 inches down here, word is they got a foot up at the range. Sabbatical time.
  14. ^^^^^^agree
  15. That is awesome MrMackc. Been there twice. It is always a deeply moving experience.
  16. That is good to know. AR10's seem to do better at the higher end. Well, I am pretty happy with the accuracy of this load in the M1A, so next year that will be my starting point. I say next year, because by next week the high is supposed to be 2 F. Plus if we get substantial snow, the road into the range is normally not plowed in the winter. And that is one mile in an area that often gets 2 feet of snow at a time, and 150 inches a winter. So I don't know when I will be back up there again.
  17. Not real high, I will have to go back and check my notes. This is range ammo. That load you are using is a good one. I have a bunch of 168's loaded at precisely 42 grains for my AR10 rifle. I downloaded a bit because I am using it in both the M1A and the AR10 rifle, and I have heard some horror stories about bent operating rods locally here with M1A's, so I am working back up slowly. Doing a ladder workup next spring that will hopefully give me an optimum load I can use with both rifles. If I can squeeze the carbine into the same load, so much the better, but it really likes the 175's.
  18. When my son absconded with my 40 year old 10/22, I did what any 10/22 lover would do in my place. I bought another one. But what another one! I got the stainless bull barrel model with the Mannlicher stock. The thing is amazing accurate! Right out to 100 yards. Now he would like that one, but no no.
  19. Somehow these topics are related. I just don't know how. Open up a combination women's grooming studio/shooting range. Call it "Shave and Shoot" Sales slogan: "We will show you the difference between a clip and a magazine"
  20. Finished this batch today.
