    Lets see em boys!!

This was the day before yesterday. 22 foot waves on the big lake, 8 footers in the islands. Winds gusting to 50 knots, last time I saw anything like this was on Cape Horn. 20161118_110654.mp4

  4. She left for the Coast. Probably the South American Coast.
  5. I have it from a lot of people, and they have data to prove it, that this will be the best server ever. We will have shortcuts and apps you haven't even imagined yet, they haven't even been invented yet. This will be such a huuge server, you won't even remember what the old server is like, and I have data to prove it.

I changed the batteries and forgot to reset the date and time. This was about 7pm last night.

    Lets see em boys!!

Nice job Mali! Good eating for this winter! And a nice mount besides. This is the largest guy that has been showing up on my trail cams. If I see him i am leaning towards letting him go and see if he can avoid other hunters and wolves and coyotes another year and grow some decent antlers. I will make that decision if and when I get him in my sights.
  10. It's all gone here now, as well.
  11. Happy Birthday in advance. I got one coming up next week as well. I think that calls for a top dollar 1911 as a gift to yourself.

    Range Time

No, We had limited time, and I wanted to get that red dot mounted in case I use it for deer season. If the weather turns sour, might have to wait on that until spring or go to the commercial shooting range after Thanksgiving. Did all my work with 175 Sierras and a few ZQ-1 NATO thrown in just to get some brass for reloading.

    Range Time

A friend called today to hit the range. He didn't have to ask twice. I checked the mailbox on the way out and lo and behold, my Bassett M1A picatny mount was here. Did a little installation work at the range and my red dot is on and zeroed. I can indeed use the iron sights still. The Bassett torque wrench works slick. Note: two failures to feed. I think I have to increase my powder charge slightly. No problem with factory loads. Below is a picture of the new set up Will work until I get a scope.

    Range Time

It is not a particularly hot load, but I don't have to worry about bent operating rods either. Those 170's should do nicely. Found some Varta, so I may work up something special once I scope it. The iron sights do surprisingly well given my 68 year old eyes.

    I am fried

Posted this just because I am in a mood to catch some tuna. Well.......that too.
  16. Like to see a blood test on the deceased. Guessing he was on something potent. Bet he didn't have a CCW for his weapon.
  17. I believe some if not all of them are made in the Philippines. I know their 1911's are. By Shooter Arms Manufacturing. I have a couple of Iver Johnson 1911's that were made by Shooter Arms. Pretty well made..

    Super moon

    Nice pics Shepp.
  19. I think this year I will be lucky to see a deer, much less get a shot. Bayfield county's deer herd is not in real good shape.
  20. I hope you guys have deer down south there. So far I had three different bucks show up on cams one day/night. Nothing since then. No does, no bucks. Just Foxes, raccoons, squirrels, ravens and blue jays. Might be lean pickings up here this year.
  21. Went out and played with the M1A today. Dialed it in to 100 yards on iron sights with what is going to be it's standard loads. M-80 brass with 39.8 RL15 and 168 gr. or 175 gr. Sierra Match King BTHP's. I had the 175's printing directly on the bullseye after adjusting for a cross wind. The 168's are printing 2 inches high at that range. I might experiment next time with the number of clicks needed to dial the 168's in at 200 yards. It is a very comfortable, consistent rifle to shoot, but it does have a totally different recoil sequence than an AR-10. A single "push" rather then an elongated "shove" I find with the AR10. Not better or worse, just different. Next step will be to put on the Bassett mount and try it with a Red Dot before settling on a scope. I really like the Match peep sights and the 2 stage National Match trigger is phenomenal! Best trigger I have tried. ps: it was Christmas in November. Someone had left 40 Federal 308 brass laying on the ground, so I came home with 40 more brass than I left with!
  22. 3 rounds is all you need if it is that accurate. 1 with 2 extra.
  23. Mrmackc, Thanks for the pictures and advice. I am going out to the range today to play around with it. When I get the Basset I will post pics. Temporairily I am mounting an old Sightron red dot I have on it until I get a good scope.

    LED light bars

My old Honda foreman has three headlights now, mwhich are plenty for plowing. Let me know how they work though. Thinking of switching to a UTV with a hard cab.
