  1. Great Lakes fishing, been President of two Sportfishing clubs, used to train in and teach an offshoot of Uechi Ryu. Still serve as a volunteer Advisor and lobbyist for Great Lakes Sport Fishing organizations. Drove motorcycles, but now switched to a Corvette. Wife and slowing reaction times had something to do with that. Outdoor wood fired cookery and meat smoking. Travel every chance I get. Climbed Cape Horn a couple of years ago. Thinking of rebuilding the 4 wd of my youth- an international Scout II 1975.
  2. Greed first, and stupidity second. Destroy their own neighborhood for what they can grab off the shelves? Let them live in the now American equivalent of a bombed out Gaza Strip. Only put up a big sign: "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DID THIS TO YOURSELVES!". "DIG YOURSELVES OUT OF IT!"
  3. Germany is supplying G36's to the Kurdish Peshmerga, along with Panzerfaust 3 launchers and Milan missles.
  4. I don't mind saying I voted for him to stay. I may not have agreed with what Lazarus said all the time, but I learned some things from him about the Canadian black rifle Market I did not know before, and I did not see anything worth getting banned from a forum for. Plus I am guessing I could learn some things about M1A gunsmithing if I wanted to from his posts. Sometimes we all need to take a deep breath and step back. There are some tight friendships and inside jokes on this forum, and a newbie can't be expected to know them right off the bat, so the Anal Lube bit probably took him by surprise. Plus, how is he supposed to know the pecking order? Someone can always be banned from a forum, but it should be for continued behaviour detrimental to the forum. This isn't near to that yet. Anyway, that is my take on things after reading the thread.
  5. To be honest, nobody is doing themselves proud on this thread.

    Trailer #2

Let's see; We get to watch Hans Solo in a walker, Luke Sky Walker with male pattern baldness, Princess Leia deal with Menopause, and Chewie get a distemper shot. And the first time Jar Jar Binks shows up, I will get escorted out of the theater for attacking the screen with a ball point pen.
  7. Converses with a padded collar? What is the world coming to?
  8. All good advice. I really like #19. Don't think a ittle threat display will make an attacker stop. It will probably get you killed.
  9. I wasn't watching the show to learn about firearms. Defintely hot.
  10. P Sounds about right. What I remember from that show are some ridiculous prices paid for some firearms, and who uses a helicopter to go sell guns?
  11. Wisdom there. Whatever your plan is, get moving and do it before they have a chance to get organized. One person who knows what they are trying to accomplish has a better chance while the competition is still disorganized. For legal purposes you might want to be sure that you are the first one who calls 911 and asks for help. But do it on the move. And yeah, large capacity mags are a comfort.
  12. Congrats Matt. Well done.
  13. Ok, it is the 1st of April, and the garage would really be uncomfortable.
  14. Three weeks ago I finally took the plunge. Now my wife has me sleeping in the garage, but I think it was worth it. Whadda you think?
  15. Just do what she tells you and no one or no "thing" gets hurt.
  16. Was interested in that in my teens, started working to understand and send Morse code, but never got the hang of it. Might have to go back if its not needed now. Good luck with your exam.
  17. Another pic of Kinessa

    AR180

I do want to see a photo, see if I can identify the Bushnell scope, might be the same rifle. Did you buy it in Minnesota back in the 80's?

    ar10 pet loads

Re15 works quite well with 168 gr and 175 grain. Pet load for accuracy and decent range for me is 42 gr RE15 with Winchester primers and 168 Sierra Match Kings. Winchester M80 brass. That load was given to me by a friend who is military retired Sniper. I messed with it up and down by .2 of a grain, but found 42 gr dead on was most accurate in my AR10 B 20 inch barrel. 100 yard group, and I am not that good of a shot. Old eyes and not enough range time.
  20. They are all of 15 inches at the shoulder, maybe the size of a Beagle.

    AR180

    I will help him out.
  22. Welcome, I tried some aftermarket mags, for the AR10 B and it turned out they didn't even fit. Fortunately I got my money back. You are left with two choices: Buy Armalite B mags direct from Armalite, or buy them at a slight discount from Cheaper Than Dirt, which is routinely castigated on this web site for predatory pricing of ammo and other firearms products when ever there is even a hint of a shortage. It really depends on your feeling about how they do business. Personally I am still trying to work out my opinion on this. If anyone knows any other good sources, please let us know.
  23. Blue, you got a point there, remember John Wayne Bobbit.
