  2. Made the mistake yesterday of handling a full size XD in 45 acp at the local Bass Pro shop. I know this will not end well for my bank account.
  3. How about survivalshop?
  4. When the Chinese government orders a new hospital built within days, you know they are not letting on the whole story. A Danish newspaper just “changed” the Chinese flag.
  5. In case you want to track it. Johns Hopkins has put together this interactive map. https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
  6. Amazon is already backordered a month on surgical masks.
  7. This does not surprise me at all. My recommendations are take some basic precautions now. You fly, wear a medical grade mask on the plane. Look like a dork, it’s ok.Wash your hands once an hour. If you can avoid large crowds, in confined areas, do so starting now. They have locked down two cities in China already, and it seems to be running a 2%-5% mortality rate based on 2,000 cases reported and 82 people dead.
  8. Oops! I didn’t make it as clear as I could have. I am passing through the town in Croatia where they are made, and was thinking of trying to get a tour of the factory over there. But it doesn’t look like transportation timing will let me do that. Plus public tours of the place are uncommon. The cold one sounds good though. Maybe try to get down in your area next summer. Maybe drag Trooper, DPete, Unforgiven and Shepp with me.
  9. A lot of people like them. Made in Croatia, I believe. I am going to try to get a factory tour. 98 and Robo both have them I believe.
  10. Amazing what the new generations of jets can do. Get a chance look up the SU27-36 class of Russian fighters. They have vectored thrust through a 180 degree plane. Can basically stop, rotate their nose 90 degrees, and launch a missile. Don’t know why the Air Force didn’t demand that with the F35. The F22 has 90 degree vectored thrust. Russians also put vectored thrust on their AAMs.
  11. It is 👍

    Grilling

Think I’ll let you Texans settle this one between you.
  13. So, did the short and curlys affect 1911 operation? Just curious. I bet John Browning planned for that.
  14. Nice! Happy with my 930. Like the 18” barrel. For tree stands and ground blinds short is good.
  15. Total cost,$899 for rifle in 1992, $289 for scope, $135 for Windham upper reciever, $130 for Timney trigger. Total, $1,353.
  16. Bad pic HBAR IS at the bottom, AR10T carbine middle M1A on top
  17. Take me a while to dig them out. Had two computers fry recently.
  18. Closest I will ever get to one are the mods I did on my pre Ban Colt AR 15 HBAR match. Replaced the carry handle receiver with a Windham flat top, but reinstalled the 20” chrome lined 1 in 7” barrel. Added a 1x6 Mil Dot scope. Added a Timney single stage trigger, as the Colt Large Pin Geissele type were just too cost prohibitive. Finally spent time two summers ago developing a weapon specific load for Hornady 75 gr BTHP and Lake City brass for the rifle. Entirely satisfied with the result. But have not had the opportunity to shoot it past 200 yards, where it routinely obliterates the “X” ring. the next Mod will be a free float key mod hand guard, though I don’t know if that is really necessary. I don’t know if I can shoot it any more accurately then it does already, considering human(me) error.
  19. Have you wrung it out yet? How is the recoil? Awesome concept!
  20. Late to this, but absolute 1911 perfection.
  21. Handsome build, and helping a kid learn how to do it as well. Worth every Guiness you drank and then some.
  22. Mine clogs up pretty bad. I don’t have an ultrasonic cleaner so I hit it with liquid wrench or a penetrating oil and gently tap on a dowel inserted slightly larger then 45 cal until the modular pieces pop out. Works and so far no degradation in suppression.
  23. Had one,of those back in 71
