  1. Welcome from FL
  2. and all are black powder from the civil war era too right?
  3. I have a cmmg 2 stage in my 308, as it was the only reasonable choice at the time. Works nicely.
  4. I have to wonder if a lighter BCG wouldn't increase recoil myself. Part of what absorbs the recoil is the time it takes to accelerate the bolt backwards, and with a lighter bolt it would be faster. Compare the weight of a BCG vs a buffer :) and going a couple ounces higher on the buffer has a pretty major effect on the recoil
  5. both that first rifle, and the savage at the bottom are interesting pieces, but I have no idea what the first one is.
  6. I must be handloading mine too heavy as my wife, oldest daughter and a friend's wife all shot through less than a single mag of the 1911 before calling it quits. Its a commander length too, so ligher and shorter barrel which may make the perceived recoil worse.
  7. this too as a rifle length http://www.shadowopsweaponry.com/products/249-eta-quad-rail-308.aspx
  8. that's roughly equivalent to 500 rounds of 7.62 nato in terms of stopping power ;)
  9. the long and short of it? its sitting at the Virginia office, ready to be shipped. The owner of the company had to drive to Colorado around the 29th of Dec due to a couple of people quitting with no notice. So the Virginia office hasn't been re-opened since then. Usually the BCGs ship within 2 weeks, that is the norm, we have them rolling in and out on a regular basis. It probably won't ship this upcoming week either due to the SHOT show, but if you get me your order #, i'll see what I can do.
  10. Welcome from Tampa
  11. that seems easy enough that I could do it too. just finding the plate for holding my phone might be difficult.
  12. the only other forum I know of that is close is weapons guild (gun building, they frown on ARs there as that's just assembly), but they aren't very big on fun there, joking around will get your posts deleted, and you possibly banned. But everyone is super friendly and helpful. I like it here better :)
  13. yeah, I bought a different gas block for my 308 and keep thinking about replacing it with the syrac as I can't reach my adjustment screw without removing my handguard :D
  14. "Adjustable gas block high profile" may be a mistake (the high profile part) with the 13.8" rail. its usually a low profile gas block that sits under the handguard instead. this one http://www.midwayusa.com/product/363956/syrac-ordnance-click-adjustable-gas-block-ar-15-lr-308-standard-barrel-0750-inside-diameter-low-profile-steel-matte is pretty nice, as the adjustment screw is on the front side so although it may take a longer allen wrench to reach it, you won't have to worry about whether it meets up with some of the ventilation holes, or have to drill the handguard to get to it.
  15. powder valley has stuff come in and then go back out of stock again pretty frequently, but I don't think they sell varget
  16. that does look like a sweet 7.62 mag
  17. with the 1:10 twist rate, the heavier the better i'd say
  18. I've got one of these on mine, I can send it for the next time http://www.midwayusa.com/product/734627/nordic-components-corvette-compensator-muzzle-brake-5-8-24-thread-ar-10-lr-308-stainless-steel
  19. I can't imagine its any worse than plain polymer
  20. whats on my 308? this http://www.themakogroup.com/product_p/gl-shock.htm
  21. anyone? daddy needs some Uzi and Sten parts :)
  22. Thanks for your service. Wish I had the cash, but post Christmas I'm always tapped out
  23. I need to get a 16, just so I can manage to carry it with a can on the end
  24. my 357 is the only one I haven't set up for reloading for. probably because all the ammo I had was the steel case junk, so I didn't have any brass for it :) don't really shoot it as much as the others anyhow.
