I was thinking of making my own carousel type annealing machine too, but using an induction heater instead of propane. I could probably make two if you want one, Tom.
No need for a special tool. Take out the firing pin, press on the front sight post detent with the firing pin and turn the front sight post clockwise to adjust your shots up. :D
7" at 25 yards is way worse than 7" at 300 yards. We need specifics. :D
Did you at least boresight it before you took the first shots? I doubt they zero the iron sights at the factory - just a few test shots if any at all to check if it cycles correctly.
I have a block of aluminum with 1/2" blind holes drilled in it. Stick my 308 (or whatever) cases in it and blast the necks with a propane torch, let it stand and cool.
I'm guessing the creepy 70yo man will not clean off the gun when he gets it back so that he can save it for later and fap to the "aroma" .... or something like that.
