  1. Best selection of jobs in Arizona will definitely be in the Phoenix metro area. What do you do or intend to do for work? I may know some one looking for people. Anthem is for old people, lol. It's a lot of Snow birds and retired people. I agree though, nice place. Nice houses and friendly people. On the north end of the valley Cave creek is awesome and Carefree has some really cool areas. There's also Scottsdale if you want the tax rate. You can get some great deals on homes in Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa in the east valley, you just have to be careful of the neighborhoods in certain parts of Mesa and Chandler.
  2. If you have personal ethics you like to stick to, then Just say no. If you don't give a poop and only care about saving a few bucks then go right ahead. They aren't that much cheaper than other good companies that I like to give my money to anyways.
  3. If you like the city rat race and heat move to phx metro. I love Arizona but I absolutely hate living in this area. It's big, it's HOT, dry and dirty. I've moved as far into the outskirts as I can and still be able to work at my job. As soon as I can I am moving up to either prescott, payson, or pine top/lakeside area. Possibly the far outskirts of Flag. On the plus side we have a lot of really nice ranges and shooting facilities in the area along with some of the best training opportunities in the world. There are also a good number of lakes around Phx area and a couple rivers. I work in Home security and can definitely say, move to the east side of the valley if you move to the phx metro area. I see a lot less violent crime and less home invasions on this side of town. The west side keeps us very busy. There are some really nice areas on the west side, but they are islands surrounded by ghetto. I used to live in Flagstaff and have a lot of family still up there. Work up there is kind of hard to come by depending on what you do. Lots of people struggling up there. Tucson would be awesome if it wasn't where all the hard left commie state transplants ended up. It's got a little cooler temps and some beautiful wilderness areas nearby. Lots of run down areas though. Every time I'm down there it seems to have gotten worse. The suburbs down there are nice. If you are into hunting/camping arizona is a great state. Lots of different types of wilderness to escape into to get away from things. You have to watch it while hunting the border area units. I've was woken up by 30 or so illegals making my camp home one time. Other than that though the hunting is great with lots of challenges. Where you live in Arizona really depends on what you can do for work. Most of the standard employment is in the Phx and tucson areas. Any other area you really need to have your ducks in a row.
  4. Piston is the devil??? Lol. Not all piston systems are created equally. I wouldn't trade my pws piston systems for anything. Very clean, lightweight, run when filthy, eats steel cased all day long. The mk216 is every last thing you are asking for except it doesn't poop where it eats. When I was in your position I tried almost every 308 based ar on the market. I always came back to the pws.
  5. Definitely have him try a bunch of padded types. I would hate to hump mine all over the place hunting without a padded sling. I've run it a few times with an ms4 and it sucks for hiking. Really digs into you with the rifle weight.
  6. I love the padded Larue Vtac style sling. I don't use the QD on the back, just have it tied to the moe stock slots.
  7. Centurion is making a really nice set in the cmr series. Not sure what street price is on them but I love how they look.
  8. Pretty close to the Sportsmans warehouse in mesa. I work all over the valley though and usually am up in scottsdale.
  9. Be safe man, and thank you from the bottom of my families heart for all you and your Brothers/Sisters do for us back stateside.
  10. I was driving down the 101 a little while back and looked over to see him driving beside me, had to do a double take. I'm stoked to have them relocating down here.
  11. Mine really likes the Barnes 168gr and Freedom Munitions 168gr amax loads. I haven't tried the FGMM yet in mine. I'm curious to see how it will do with the lighter loads. I really want to get some of the Lehigh defense 110gr loads for it. Have any of you guys shot some 110gr? How'd it do?
  12. Magpul ACS-L or UBR are the most comfortable ones I've felt. One is really light weight, the other is a great balancer if your front end is heavy.
  13. Larue makes a really nice rifle. The ones I have shot are extremely accurate and well built. If it wasn't for my love of piston guns and hatred of cleaning that is the route I would have taken. Being a piston guy I went with PWS. There's nothing like a good 308ar. Welcome to the sickness.
  14. If you want to run a single point I like the Magpul MS4 and run one on both of our AR15 pattern rifles, for my 308 I chose the Vtac style padded 2 point sling from Larue. It is great for carrying around the extra weight of the 308 while hunting and has worked great when running drills with it. Very easy to adjust on the fly. I love the padding. On my AR15 I use a Noveske QD end plate. My wives AR15 and my 308 are both on PWS lowers using their enhanced buffer tube system with their qd points.
  15. Just picked up an SD-C for my mk216 I find that chart a little funny though. The sd-c is the flat trigger version of the ssa, yet the ssa is listed for hunting while the sd-c isn't. Ok. Lol. I will be hunting the crap out of this sd-c.
  16. Much better. Do you still have the front sight tower to put back on?
  17. Same as above in my experience. They are a fun little toy and nothing more to me. That's a decent price for one if its in great shape but I'd see if you can get him to include the ammo in the deal. I've seen a few used ones go in the $900 range down here. On the whole I am personally not a fan of the caliber in a carbine sized weapon. There are much better options in that size range especially when not an SBR.
  18. He was an awesome man. Shots up to him tonight for sure. AK's and tannerite this weekend.
  19. That blade shape looks awesome for utility work. Nice and strong, no tiny little point to break off. Easy to resharpen. Nice score man. I'd use the crap out of that knife.
  20. You are correct. Your barrel isn't a gun so sbr rules don't apply until it goes into an upper and onto your lower.
  21. My wife also carries a mini griptilian and loves it.
  22. I lost my first benchmade 2 months after I bought it. Hadn't used it yet. Fell out of my pocket crawling an attic. It was a really nice auto too. Oh well. Knives and sunglasses, I just can't seem to keep them forever.
  23. 440c isn't hard for me to sharpen, it just doesn't hold an edge near as long or take as sharp of an edge as most of the newer metals do. It also is a very common metal and cheap to source for a knife maker. It's not horrible or anything and I have several 440c knives that I love, just at that retail price they show there are much better alloys available.
  24. Kershaw Blur is a great pocket knife. Benchmade Griptillian or Rift if you can find them on sale. My rift was $116 after shipping and has really taken some abuse at work. ZT121 for a fixed blade if you find one on sale, mine was also right around the $100 mark on sale when I got it.
  25. The link you gave states it is a 440c blade. I don't care what the rest of the knife is made of, I would never pay more than $50 for a 440c blade. At the $27 you paid it's a good deal for a utility knife. At the $169 price that link shows they are out of their freaking minds.
