  1. Another AZ Welcome!
  2. TacOps-1 .308 version works perfect.. (ask me how I know ;) )
  3. Found this posted on SlickGuns. http://www.schuylerarmsco.com/catalog.php?category=104397 $225.00 for stripped upper and lower set $250.00 for assembled upper (FA and dust cover installed) $255 for FDE cerakoted DAYUM that's a hell of a deal for these.. I paid $305 for the same set when I built my rifle and thought I was getting a steal then. I can attest that these receiver sets are good to go. Very tight tolerances and practically zero slop. No problems with parts compatibility issues. I finished mine off with a Rainier barrel and bolt, an MI float tube, DPMS buffer and tube and AP's LPK. It runs like a well oiled machine, works great with PMAGS. No problems feeding or ejecting .308 or 7.62. I just works.. OK, I'm done Fangirling now, but these receivers are a great way to start a buildup. I love my set and GODDAMN if that's not a great price for these! <thumbsup>
  4. Don't have a real good pic, but here ya go!
  5. Well, I was contemplating an alternate caliber AR-15 at the time. What I really wanted was longer range and a larger projectile and 6.5 Grendel was going to be it. With the intent on buying an upper in 6.5, I went deal hunting on Slickguns. That was when I discovered Aero Precision had JUST released their M5 forged receiver sets for a song so that was the mark for me... so I said fucks it! Go Big or Go Home - thus the build commenced. Some $1400.00 later I've got a nice custom build with every part selected by me - exactly how I wanted it. And so far it eats anything I feed it. <thumbsup> But... as this sickness goes - Now I have my .308, I'm back to where I started contemplating an alternate caliber AR-15. This time I'm jumping on the .300BLK wagon. I'm needing a new "pistol" for "handgun" season! ;) ;)
  6. MY GAWD that's a beautiful finish!! I'm a big fan of the Ocean Burst! That quilted maple just POPS! I did a design very similar to that one (but not an exact copy) when I was still doing this as a business. My design was kind of a cross between a PRS and a Music Man. Turned out awesome! Ash body, Rock Maple, 3 Piece / Two Octave Laminated neck, 10-16" Compound Radius Red Oak fretboard with NO inlays (I like my fretboards clean, because you either know what the hell you're doing or you don't! HAHA!) Built two of these in fact.. One of them was the very last guitar built under the Dominus Guitars name. Here are some pics!! :) Played like butter and notes just exploded off the fretboard. Something about it was special though... The right combination of the woods, the shape, the scale, the pickups, I don't know exactly.... It turned out to be just a perfect storm of guitar awesomeness... To date, it's the only guitar I've ever held with which I could run pentatonic scales using pinch harmonics all the way up and down the neck!
  7. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/18703/s/dpms-16-308-carbine/ That is all.....
  8. I have the full size on my .308. Will eventually be ordering two more for my AR15's. Scope or not, I like the bigger handle. Easy to grab and operate with either hand. These TacOps handles are the truth!
  9. Those are impressive numbers for a 2.0L :)
  10. Nice bud!
  11. Ive burned through a couple of boxes doibg my break in since it was cheap and I wasnt worried about groupings. Since I was doing the 1 shot & clean routine I got to see how dirty it was. I was surprised at the ammount of residue between shots. Hoppes cleaner soaked on the bore brush and it took about 3-4 ppatches to get it clean again for the next shot. With 5 shots and a cleaning it was about the same so maybe it was more of a function of getting the cleaner out and not so much the ammo. Ive never done a proper break in on any of my barrels before though so maybe thats normal. On the upshot, it all went boom and it ran perfectly in the gun. Ill be shooting this stuff quite a bit for general plinking given the price but I'll be doing a good cleaning each time too... ;)
  12. Thanks brother! :)
  13. Liking it brother!!
  14. My Toy... 2008 Mustang GT/CS Supercharged, 4:10 gears, upgraded brakes, Steeda/Tokico suspension. Scares women, children, and senior citizens alike. ;)
  15. Ok, so I've been busy.... very busy and a month later I finally got to get away for a few hours and see what my girl is made of! 1st things first. This isn't an official range report since I still have to get a proper optic mounted, but I grabbed a little cheapie (and I do mean cheap in the extreme!) red dot I had laying around just to have something to look through... I went down to the wash and did the barrel break in thing 1 shot & clean x5 then 5 shots & clean x5. For the most part I used the ZQ stuff which is great for plinking and cheap too ($9.00/box at Walmart).. I wasn't really looking for groups of any sort and that's good cause the gun sent the el-cheapo red dot straight to its grave in a scant 4 rounds. On the up shot, 30 rounds now down the tube consisting of both .308 and 7.62 NATO and not one single problem.. This firearm runs like a boss! No FTE, no FTF, bolt locks back every time, and with the gas adjusted I've got 5.56 like recoil w/ brass spitting out right at 3:00. What's left to say? It's good....its so good.!!! It's AR-15 good even So for the record.. The Aero Precision receiver set + Rainer barrel and matched bolt + DPMS .308 buffer assy w/ Syrac adjustable gas block = WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER! Now I just gotta get a decent optic mounted and see how tight she groups with some nice match ammo. :D (Took some other toys along just for fun too ;) )
  16. Thanks brother! So been busy but finally got around to gluing up the body blank, finishing up toolpaths and cutting a proof out of foam. I always do a styrofoam proof of an unproven design beforehand. It turned out good except the bridge position is of by nearly .125" easy fix though. Goes to show ya you can measure and plan all you want but you won't know sh!t until you actually start putting parts together!
  17. Ive been buying this stuff by the truckload. Good plinkin ammo. Price is right.
  18. DAYUM!
  19. x2 :)
  20. What's all that white stuff on the ground!!? <dontknow> I think I've heard of that before... They call it sn, sn,, snoe..or snoo, or something.. i can't remember....! :D Seems like 60-70's through Christmas is usually the norm here. Somewhere around Jan-Feb, it gets cold until about May.
  21. +15.95 shipping = 75.94/500 = $0.15/rd. FARK THAT! I can "almost" buy 7.62x39 or .223 even for that price! .22LR $0.05/rd. shipped to my doorstep and/or equivalent OTC price or GTFO! $0.07 tops....
  22. Done brother. <thumbsup> Digging the box of Padron 1926's. I like where you're head's at. ;)
  23. I can't speak for the AP bolt, but I can can tell you their .308 receiver set is good to go.
  24. Right!? haha.
  25. They really are going to read your thoughts... http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22429934.000-brain-decoder-can-eavesdrop-on-your-inner-voice.html The sh!t they're figuring out how to do these days....
