  1. So I'm guessing firearm recoil might just bugger up your balance on one of these............
  2. If you live anyplace you need a garand.
  3. I like that phrase "not well thought out". My mom used to describe those kinds of actions as "You haven't got a brain in your damn head!" I think there were a lot of times when she was surprised I was still alive.
  4. Precisely. And if it's so obvious to us, what the damn hell is wrong with the flocking politicians? I guess to those azzholes, the only evil is.....guns! And, by extension, us.
  5. Squeaky toy.....LMFAO. No, no I didn't. My wife read it to me.....I hate it when they look over your shoulder..
  6. Very true. Erdogan is a piss-ant crook and supporter of the islamic brotherhood, and has done everything in his power to take a recent-historically secular state to an islamic state. It was his intent from the start. The mob out swinging their flags are certainly islamic extremists IMHO. One thing you can be certain of is that the Turkish military will undergo a massive purge, and will be even less reliable as a NATO ally. One more country we can no longer trust or rely on. And the Turkish (and Iraqi) Kurds (closest thing to a non-jewish group we can trust in the middle east) are even more phucked then they were before the coup. I assume POSOTUS will continue to screw over the Kurds and Kowtow to Erdogan and his moose-limb cohorts. Just my two rounds downrange worth......
  7. Wulllll....wulll, whut iffen a dude is like, you know, left-handed or sumthin like that there???? Sites wood be upside down, woodent they?? And do he hafta move his hat bill thingee over to the other side, or whut?
  8. Good read but some obvious errors. His term "disingenuous propagandizing" regarding police helping civilians is certainly wrong. First, cops likely didn't all know he was only targeting police, plus realized that many bullets flying around were dangerous to everyone. Second, the lady who was shot tells of one officer shot trying to protect her, and another cop who jumped on top of her to shield her from further gunfire. Third, tons of video evidence of police standing up and herding people away from danger. Nevertheless, some good advice there, and interesting assumptions and opinion.
  9. I've used the "dedicated" .308 jig from 80percentarms.com, (twice, and with their proprietary lower) and the universal jig from Modulus for an AR-15 build (not a Modulus lower). Both are very good. Borrow a decent drill press, and maybe buy an OK trim router. I used a $100 trim router from Home Depot. Both worked great. And, you can use the jigs for a bunch of lowers, not just one. And yeah, this is supposed to be fun. Like EngrBob said, Go slow. Very slow. Watch videos. Read the directions. It ain't rocket science.
  10. I think if you buy an 80% and get someone to help you build it, BATFE will likely want to have a chat with both of you.....at their place....possibly for a long time. But that's just my thought and idea. I have zero legal skills, no law knowledge, can't even read very well. Just a wild-assed guess.
  11. Yeah, what Fletch said on the Rubber City Armory BCG; mine runs perfect, and it's mated up with a Mega 18" barrel. Everything I've ever bought from Mega was super, as is their customer service. Welcome to the forum from Washington.
  12. Just speculation, you understand, but did you "accidentally" leave a couple-three zero's off of that "two"? No accusation, just askin'........
  13. Yeah, I'm with you on that. Our flag at half staff today for Dallas LE. Damn! Our demacommie governor hasn't acknowledged the Dallas tragedy, so wife and I will honor those brave men without the governor's official sanction. Sad day.
  14. You? Or the snake?
  15. Go Mom and Dad!!! Gotta be embarrassing to get your ass beat that badly by your "victims". Didja choose the wrong house, sport?
  16. Or, "Oh, our federal records indicate you're over 70. So, then, we'll be trying to keep most of the pain down to a dull roar. Other than that, not a lot of resources available for you old farts...." Medical translation is, "You're flocked!"
  17. Well, hell, I'm gonna go lie down on the examining table and just let the "doctor" innoculate me into a coma. Or is that "innocubate"? Whatever.......
  18. Is there some sort of innoculation you can get to prevent catching that?
  19. Couldn't agree more with that. I chamfer and trim also on everything I do. I've had great luck with the Lee factory crimp dies, and now use them pretty much on everything. They claim with straight cases you don't need to case trim when using the Lee factory crimp die, but I do it anyway. Consistency. Or just a picky old fart?
  20. Given their job security and benefit packages, and the steady growth in their total numbers, I have trouble believing these turds need a stress reliever.....
  21. Building with family is a gas. Son got me hooked doing a 6.8. Then I did my .308 ghost. Son & I now separately working on .223 ghosts, and this last weekend, my 10-year-old grandson and I finished up our build of his .223. Smile on his face and the look of accomplishment was priceless. But we're passing on the interest and the skill set to the third generation.....
  22. Jeez, no bayonet lug..........
  23. And so I'm just thinking how often I've said some variation of this, and how many times I've heard other guys say that.....wish I had it back. Boy, do I know the feeling! And on and on it goes.........my-oh-my!
  24. I've heard there was only one entry/exit, and going in at closing time may have caught people off guard. What moronic licensing entity allows a bar with that huge capacity function with only one or even just two or three entrance/exit points? Fire near the door would have gotten all of them. That's insanity! I don't understand cops not going in immediately, nor how even unarmed, the hundreds of patrons could not have taken him down. Heard an acknowledged active shooter expert who has analyzed every shooting since Columbine. He is adamant that you have to go in immediately on an active shooter. No exceptions. He says that while circumstances differ from case to case, time is the greatest factor. His point was that yes, some innocents may die when LEO goes in - SWAT or otherwise - but deaths will be fewer if intervention happens sooner. 300 unarmed patrons? WTF?
